Hey, M1 cultist here, just stopping by to let you know that you only need to make quick follow up shots if you miss, which myself and every other Garand owner have never done. I actually had to look up what it meant to "miss a shot" because that is a brand new concept to me. Maybe the problem isn't in the M1 Garand for not being able to make quick follow up shots, but rather it is on you for not being able to hit your shots.

For those asking about the AR/AK: I figured the AR and AK are so mainstream that they can't really be considered to have a "cult following". I think the casual owners far outnumber the die hard fanboys. For this same reason I though about excluding Glock, but I just couldn't resist.

I used to work for Glock. They are just up the road from me. I have built hundreds of thousands of them. Yet when I tell people ( online and in person) that ( when I worked there - mid 2010ish) that they are built on plywood /sawhorse tables by mostly Vietnamese women ( VERY few Glock assemblers can speak English) using only a plastic hammer and a punch. That the only mechanical tool used is an old broken press for the sights. That there are black magic markers on the tables to touch up the finish when one is (often) dropped. ...... as a response I get routinely called a lair , screamed at and have even had a few death threats. I ask these people " If you have never worked there or even been inside the building, how can you can me a lair"? That does no good... And then I have my entertaining Glock stories... Manufacturing screw ups that most every factory employee can tell about their products. One time I and a couple other armorers took hammers and destroyed 10,000 brand new Glocks. When I was there, a Glock cost $28.00 to produce. Oh yea.... They are great guns ( if you don't mind not having any safety). I have a bunch of them. GLOCK Prefection 😁

I'm hiding in the corner with my FN FNP-45 hoping the Glock guys and 1911 guys don't shoot me. My gun is an abomination. It's a big 45ACP that holds 14+1 and has a polymer frame but it's NOT a Glock. It has a heavy steel slide and a hammer but it's not a 1911. It's the unholy spawn of something from both worlds!! And sometimes it scares me. *muahahahahahahaha* Oh Lord, its laughing.... Ignore evidence of your own modifications and insist that Glocks are perfect out of the box. Insist everything was done to 'personalize' the pistol to 'taste'. Step 7. Blame shitty shooting and malfunctions on: ammunition, lubricant, global warming, hand position, air conditioning, sun spots, or the non-Glock gun that guy next to you is firing. Step 8. Carry concealed and ignore the 'printing'. Step 9. Wear every conceivable piece of Glock-wear and paste Glock stickers on anything you may have with you in public just so no one would mistake that 'printing' weapon you are "concealing" is anything else than a Glock. Step 10. Give a dislike to this post and write a scathing reply, cherry picking facts and resort to base vulgarity or threats. Here are some subjects you can use in your reply. I own many firearms. I have fired/used many Glocks. I do not own any Glocks. Glock has yet to make a pistol that I like enough to buy. Who knows?... Some day they might. This is my opinion. Others have different opinions. We all have the right to our opinions. Not all that own glocks are hardcore Glockinites. We've all met the Glockinite and marveled at the arrogance, hubris, short sightedness, ignorance, and fanaticism. They miss out on so much the gun world has to offer.

Honestly, I was expecting to see the Mosin Nagant here. Despite being a proud Mosin Nagant owner... it's a horrible gun that is often so corroded that you can't hit the broad side of a barn at 100 meters. Don't get me wrong... the price is often right. But in every area other than ammo price and initial cost of the rifle, a ww2 mauser beats it. I say that as a jew. I liked watching this video. Being from new york, however, a lot of these guns are our ways to make effective rifles. An m1 garand might not be the best, but because the magazine isn't detachable, we can do any customization to the rifle that we want. So while the M1 is not as good as a modern rifle... modern rifles are often so limited in this state that a fully customized m1 will be better than a less-than-bare-bones AR. I mean seriously... in this state, a completely barebones AR is considered an assault weapon. You either have to have a non-pistol-grip, non-thumbhole stock affixed, with the screws epoxied closed... or you have to have pin the magazine in such a way that it cannot be removed, and then epoxy the screw or pin which holds the magazine on. In most states, I FULLY agree with this list (but would add the Mosin Nagant as a bonus). But in NY and Cali, with restrictions on detachable magazine fed semi-autos... I have a hard time saying that the garand should be on this list. When looking at stripper clips from worst to best, you have mosins (which need to be pushed, and removed. Difficulty added due to rim), then AK/SKS (Push, no added difficulty, then remove), then Mauser (Push, no need to remove, as the bolt being closed automatically ejects the clip), and best you have the en bloc (Insert clip as though it were a top feeding magazine. When you run out of rounds, the gun auto-ejects it, and you insert another one). Effectively, the en bloc is just as easy to load as a magazine, but it gets around the SAFE act.

LMAO! Great video. I have been shooting and collecting for over 50 years and have seen most of these cults! Would never own an FAL because of the weight and that damn metal fore end. Not a pleasant thing to hold on to in the desert. I have at present cut my cache down to approx 100 guns. I must say that I also will never own a Glock. Not because there is anything wrong with them if used for their intended purpose but because there seems to be some magic involved. I see so many guys buy a Glock as their first gun and all of a sudden they are the gun expert of the century!
