Also consider 'diversity' of storage instead of one or two 'ultra-trusted' ones. By storing in multiple exchanges, the risk is drastically divided, e.g. if you use twenty different ones - As well as having a Trezor and a BitFi and a Ledger, also store some in Exodus, Binance, BlockFi, etc.
Not your keys, not your crypto. Exchanges aren't a bank account. They aren't federally regulated. You could lose your coin at literally anytime and there no laws requiring you be reimbursed.

@@bqwood I did and I understood why Guy doesn’t support it anymore. But trezor 1 still doesn’t support ADA. And Trezor T is abit out of my price range. I have also read up on the new security measures at ledger now, so I feel confident enough to try it out.
Recognizable, I ordered my Ledger Nano S two hours prior to this video... XD And indeed, after a hack like the one Ledger has suffered last year, one may reasonably assume they have cranked their security up a notch (but maybe I'm naively having too high expectations...).
@@jdjphotographynl nope security is Ledgers bread and butter as a company providing a secure solution to crypto so im sure they have put time and money on the issue and to put it another way .........I would'nt want to be in there IT security team went it happened....and the 1st thing i did was setup a proton email account before stepping into crypto. I too got a nano s last week , Imay build a Trezor hardware wallet with 1 of my raspberry pi zero's in case I mine a few alt coins.

I was surprised to hear Trezor supports the most crypto currencies though, as I became under the assumption that title went to Ledger. That's actually why I chose Ledger over Trezor. But okay, guess I could still return my Ledger in the worst case scenario...
I’ve not been paying attention for a while. There used to be open source wallets, copy files to USB with CD backup and printing keys to paper was close enough to a gold standard.

the problem with hardware wallets, they cost about as much as im even invested in crypto atm. i am poor and i am putting little by little into crypto like a savings but likely will never have enough to justify a hardware wallet for many years.

man, i lost so much coins on those janky ass exchances like livecoin and coinsmarkets. lmao back in the 2017/2018 era... Good and bad times but it tought me a valuable lesson. Im not using any other exchanges besides binance or coinbase for day trading. But above all KEEP YOUR COINS IN COLD WALLET OR ESLE!
I've had so much trouble using coinbase (conbase). Terrible support, high fees and very unprecise charts. Binance is wayyyy better. Or a local alternative perhaps.

I was wondering the same. The SafePal should still be on sale also for $39.99 USD, or 2 with free shipping. I bought 2 and have one as backup. IMO it's safer because it's Air-gapped so doesn't use wires or Bluetooth/WiFi/NFC to transact or connect to your PC or phone. It's all done through the SafePal's camera and QR codes.

I find the Exodus wallet and Trezor One setup rubbish. Am I missing something? I cant store, polkadot, Cardano, Solana, XRP... How about a review of the SafePal S1 wallet? Great videos though!
I never bought one of these wallets before (and i'm planning to) but it seems for me that the trick would be to buy it with cash or crypto themselves so it can't be traced back to you...also when you give a shipping address it should be sent to a ups store or a friends house...and don't give your real name (maybe your business name or something)
Shite. That won't make any difference. The point comes in when you put your key in. Before that it means nothing. Likewise for your key you will have to put in your information. So to have it deregulated completely you have to set up an account on a deregulated platform, you can't change cash for crypto on these platforms. Only coins for coins.
Binance is holding my money because i used vpn and now my money stuck over there no customer service response so far guy was right not your keys not your crypto
I wonder, once a company becomes breached (ledger), they go hard on security - understanding the issue and doubling down to avoid anything like this again, therefore they become the most secure moving forward?

As I'm doing my research and getting all of the information that I can find to make an informed decision on which hardware wallet to purchase that best suits my needs. Ordered a couple of keepkey wallets. They failed to arrive. The customer support was about as helpful as a shop run by gremlins. Contested the charges and went with paper and a deposit box.
So ran into an issue with the Model T, the screen isn’t responding when attempting to press the check after entering the pin. So it’s inaccessible. Wondering how many others have had such an issue with this pricey little guy. Ps. I’ve reached out to Trezor support already.
Well, there is a video on RU-vid of a guy hacking into Trezor wallet and recovering the pin. Granted, it was an older firmware version and they fixed the issue. I think I'll stick with ledger tho.

Hey, do you know if you can connect/ transfer safepal hard wallet with its cold wallet and transfer assets free of charge to its hardware? I've been trying to email them but no answer.
I had heard about the Ledger data breach after I'd purchased my Ledger - Fortunately I'd just started investing in November and bought my wallet 2 weeks later, so I dodged that bullet. So far, I've been quite happy with it. If Ledger is worth its salt, they'll have fixed and will be able to prevent a future breach. As a newbie, Ledger isn't a bad choice. However, I'd not heard about Ellipal and may consider them as a second wallet choice.
I wondered the same thing. The difference being ‘assets’ vs ‘tokens’. Assets are essentially everything in crypto that can be purchased & stored including NFT’s. Tokens are just the cryptocurrencies themselves that most of us are familiar with.
