To me,the mattress that came with the Rpod is garbage.. we just replaced it

Yep, many people do just this. I put the 3" memory foam on mine and have gotten 200+ nights without an issue. Still, if you don't at least have a really good topper, I couldn't see using it much. Interestingly, the Keystone I just bought has a much better mattress, so apparently it is possibly to put a better one in an RV. Thanks for the comment!

I do not like the short mattress, no im not tall but i stretch out and feel like im falling off. why not turn the box under the bed to open up to support the bottom of a full size queen mattress.

There isn’t room for a queen size mattress in the RPod 179 model. If I needed a full queen I’d look elsewhere for a bigger trailer. Thanks!

We are a bit confused. What sheets exactly do we buy for rpod 178 bed? The link seems to take us to just a regular queen sized sheets. Are these something special that will fit the short mattress? that another set won't fit? Is there a short sheet specific alternative? Thanks.

Joanne, we use deep pocket fill-size sheets for the short queen in the RPod. Hope this helps.

Do you know the best place/price to get day/night shades for my 2012 rpod 177? Any tips on "soundproofing" it as well?

Tommy, I do not know the best place to get day/night shades or have any tips on soundproofing. Pretty thin walls for sure and I’m not sure much can be done about it. I would refer you to the R-Pod Owners forum to ask around: www.rpod-owners.com/default.asp

Any consideration on using 2 twin mattresses instead of the queen? It's incredibly difficult for me to put sheets on the queen since there is no walk-around space.

The problem you will run into is the lack of a standard size pair of twin mattresses. The queen is 60”x74” so you would need two 30”x74” custom mattresses made. This could get pricey. R-Pod is about to release a new RP-195 model that includes a walk-around queen bed. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

What suggestions do you have for sleeping better in the R-Pod 192?

Dennis, I think if your aren't sleeping comfortably with the factory mattress, you likely need either a gel foam topper or a good foam mattress. I've use a 3" memory topper on my 179 for a few years without issue. Many others switch out the factory mattress with a full memory foam mattress right away. Other than the mattress, the next thing would be keeping the trailer cool when sleeping. I hang a USB fan to keep air moving in the trailer and also use the A/C when it is hot. @@JohnMarucci Thanks. We have ordered a gel foam topper. O would prefer a foam mattress but I haven't found one yet for a 192. The 192 has a Murphy bed and the mattress is in 2 sections that fold when the bed is closed.

Craig, I think I missed this part when taping this a few years ago. I may have to do a follow up. Basically you told the table down and put the two straight back cushions down to make the sleeping surface (for the 179). Thanks!

Also john we bought a good full air mattress for 2...used fitted sheets, top sheet and a blanket if needed. During the day we just moved the mattress to our bed fully made and just moved it back for sleeping, hassle free. The mattress is very comfortable!
