Top 5 Items that should return in Breath of the Wild 

What are your choices for returning items in Zelda U? Also sorry about my voice in this video, I'm sick at the moment

I'd like to see a variation of the Elemental Rods return. Using different types of magic to tackle different enemies, puzzles and even terrain. Don't think we've ever seen them in a 3D Zelda game either.

What's better than Double clawshots? Double Longshots

I feel like simple item crafting from key elements found throughout the land will completely build the concept of the Item for Zelda U. I mean, consider a simple Deku Stick, only unbreakable, and how many different things that can be made. String it up on both ends for a simple bow. Latch on an elemental gemstone for a magic rod. String up one end and add a hook, fishing rod. Slap a big seashell on it, shovel. An iron chunk for a hammer. Etc. Basically, build better versions of items as you access areas with better stuff, and by the end, you've built up to default items at the very least. At the very most, you've not only completed unique items via exploration and rewarding experimentation, but you also have the means to solve any scenario thrown at you.

Given the theories that this new Zelda may take place at a very early point in the timeline, what if the items were made based on a combination of various parts you find around the overworld? Perhaps there is a lack of already "completed items" such as the hookshot/clawshot and you need to collect components that you build or have an NPC build to make them useful. That way, items do not necessarily need to be found solely in dungeons. Plus, there could be potential for a large varieties of items

My #1 is the Ocarina. There's so many things that could be done in a massive world with the Ocarina and its songs. Many existing songs have certain effects that would be useful, such as the Song of Soaring (teleport to owl statues), or hell, Saria's Song allowed you to communicate at long distances. This idea could be expanded on and allow you to communicate with key characters across a long distance. Then, of course, there's the ever useful Sun's Song and Song of Storms. Song of Storms could be even more useful now, as the weather could be a way to change the landscape or make different kinds of enemies appear. And, of course, there needs to be a way to call your horse.

I agree with your list bit I also think that of they brought back the Spinner, it could be cool. Since this iteration of Hyrule is so mountainous, the Spinner could be another fun easy way of traversing Hyrule.

I want masks! I loved collecting the masks in Majora's Mask and using all of their various abilities.

I especially agree with the different armours and lantern. I'd also like a wider range if weapons (Magic Rods, I'm looking at you!). Also, combining the Double Clawshots with the Sail Cloth for a Just Cause effect would make me _very_ happy.

Awww, I miss the Beetle. Well, it's not a cape, but the stealth clothes are really good. I like the lantern too. And the parrot who sells you oil. I liked the armour Mipha made! I want underwater swimming though. Awwwww yiiiisssss, the double clawshots were brilliant. Even with climbing and jumping, I would have loved the double clawshots.

Zeltik, perhaps an idea for a future video could be a top 5 list of locations that either should be or might be in the new game besides the areas that are always in Zelda games.

I wanna see the Telescope from Wind Waker return, unlike other people, the telescope for me is what made Wind Waker into that adventures sea game we all love and play. Now imagine in Zelda U, where you climb atop some abandoned tower or tall mountain and start scouting the areas around it with your telescope. It would totally add some sense of exploration and adventure to the game.

I completely agree with the double claw shots. They're probably one of the best items ever.

I just realised, the timeshift monster from the Zelda Wii u trailer, if you look when it breaks the bridge, it has a broken leg that sparks!

The main thing id like is either the hookshot or clawshot. I used deku nuts fairly often in OoT as well. And since it's practically a staple it needs to have the boomerang or maybe even multiple boomerangs since weapons can break or be lost in breath of the wild.

1) The Lens of Truth. - In a game that massive where exploration is the main point, hidden stuff like fake walls, doors or even ghosts would be a very good start. Getting this item during the game would make us want to go back to re-discover places. 2) The Grappling Hook. - Yet not as powerfull as the regular clawshot it is way more handy in exploration when trying to reach another cliff. We can see how lovely you can use it in Uncharted 4. 3) An Instrument - or music related item. In most of the Zelda games music is not only beautiful but also very useful. Guiding the wind, summoning the day, calling the four giants, rewinding time, ... 4) Upgradable Swords - like the Razor Sword from Majora's Mask 3D. Of course the Master sword is cool... But don't you want more ? I mean, there's no effort to get it, every player has it. No, what we want is the secret deadly treasure that would be very hard to get. Same thing for every item though, best examples in the franchise was in A Link Between Worlds & Skyward Sword. 5) The Dominion Rod - or the ability to control NPCs/Statues. Never thought, " Oh if I could only control this stupid companion myself !!" Well, with the Dominion Rod you can. In WindWaker it was used through the Wind Waker itself, allowing the player to first control statues, but then to control the sages while going through a temple. Honorable mentions to the digging mitts and the pegasus boots. Talking about companions, should Link get a new partner ? I mean there's Epona, yes, but she's not very talkative. Navi, Midna, the Red Lion, ... What kind of partner should Link have ? Maybe he could choose himself ?

5. RAFT (Last seen in Zelda 2, nice throwback item to use to cross waterways.) 4. PEGASUS SHOES (Has never been a thing in a 3D Zelda) 3. HOOKSHOT (Although I'd put a twist on it and call it the SPIDER SHOT) 2. MIRROR SHIELD (Hopefully now we can reflect sunlight to solve puzzles much more realistically in Zelda U/NX. 1. LENS OF TRUTH (With a heavy emphasis on the Sheikah, than this is a must!)

I said this in one of your other videos but Minish cap had great items. Very unique, maybe because it wasn't made by Nintendo. Anyways, items I would like to see are the Cane of Pacci (used to flip objects, attacks, and to store energy in ditches that will shoot you to high distances when jumped into) , Mole mitts (allows digging) , Grip Ring (lets you climb walls even though the use was limited in MC), mirror shield (of course), and gust jar (used for attacks, opening doorways, moving platforms, sailing)... lol I'm a geek

I personally think a double Longshot would make a little more sense since those seem like they would be better for piercing rock, and the claw shots are selective and don't quite pierce things as well.

I wanted to see the return of the Lens of Truth in some form. Maybe the bunny hood for that speed increase.

I'd like to see 3 items return: 1. Pegasus Boots: Allows Link to infinitely run faster than normal speeds at the cost of limited control; Though slower than Epona, Its considerably faster than the normal jog, plus it can be used in places you can't brings horse. GOTTA GO FAST!!! 2. Roc's Cape: Possibly as an upgrade to the default Sailcloth, this item will let Link jump high & glide, as it has in the past 2D games it was featured in, albeit longer distances, lasting until he lands or hits a wall, functioning as a not-quite-flight ability in a manner similar to Knuckles from the Sonic The Hedgehog series 3. Ball & Chain: nuff said.

Hey Zeltik, just wondering where you got that amazing looking Link render you used for your channel background. Is it official, or is it fan made? It looks just like the render found in Nintendo stores or something like that earlier this year, but I can't that specific pose anywhere.

Rock's Feather/Cape: Upgrade your Jump. Pegasus boots. Upgrade your Sprint. Rings from Oracles of Seasons and Ages: Various ability and stat tweaks to the gameplay. Weapons: In light of destructible weapons, I'd like to see some end-game indestructible ones. Things you acquire through lengthy quests each on their own, that cannot be thrown and instead have alternative functions. Master Sword, Duh, 'cept its special attack is a Skyward Strike or Swordbeams. Skull Hammer: a Legendary Hammer that creates shockwaves. Ganon's Trident: the only throwable Legendary weapon, because it can return by itself! Iron Knuckle Axe: Does the cutting job faster than normal axes and can batter right through enemy shields with increased efficiency. Great Fairies Sword: Hits (or kills if too unbalanced) to enemies restore 1/4th of a Heart (inspired by it's Soulcalibur incarnation and that healing is just a fairy thing to do in Zelda).

+Zeltik, do you think Nintendo will ever explain how so many items can fit into Link's pockets? My personal theory would be a "pocket" dimension (get it?). And if that theory is true, how were the pockets able to be enchanted to hold a whole other dimension that would act as a storage unit for Link's equipment.

I'd love to see the lantern back again. It was so atmospheric using it in Twilight Princess in caves and other dark areas.

We do know that on Zelda U/NX Sheikah plays a big role so it would make sence if the Lens of truth came back in this game.

I agree with all but the lantern. Unless it has a significant advantage over torches, I'm not all together sure it's needed.

There should be an item or a fairy. And Link can ask the fairy to scout out some area's to see if there are any nearby enemies bases, and good places to sleep for the night.

The hookshot is the best item in the series ever since ALttP, but considering that you can climb pretty much any vertical surface in Breath of the Wild I'm not sure how useful it will be. I would love for the spinner to make a return and that it's actually put to good use.

What I really want is for them to make sure to know when to have items. So I think that the bow and double claw shot should be from the beginning of the game instead of the end like in skyward sword

I would like to see the whip return with more combat use as it.was useful for exploration but it could only take out small enemies, pretty handy for taking out annoying bats and other small critters, just not those chuiches (slime enemies) though.

Idk about the beetle, because it doesn't have any unique exploration mechanics. The whip, on the other hand, could be quite nice for swinging around, like over crevasses and through trees.

With the exception of one item, I mostly agree with these choices. I'm not sure how the invisibility cloak/magic cape could be incorporated to enhance gameplay. Even with limited magic, it kind of defeats the purpose of stealth gameplay if your enemy can't see you. This what made the Stone Mask broken during the Pirates' Fortress segment. I don't think it would add much aside from the ability to walk on spikes, which another item, the Magic Armor, covers. In its place I would recommend either the rocs feather or rocs cape, to finally give Link the ability to jump in a 3D game, making him more agile and giving him more maneuverability. The clawshot would go a long way in this regard, but its cumbersome, especially when enemies are surrounding you. Having a more adaptable Link would be welcome as you are traversing uneven landscapes. I know that we have seen signs of a more spry Link with the vaulting mechanic, but who knows if it can be used outside of horse combat.

I agree with the double clawshot. But... please, i wish you could grab to things aside of vines and those strange golden circles xD I would also like to see again magic rods (somalia included) or the elemental tokens from ALtP, tho.

I want the sand rod/wand to make a return. We've only ever seen it in A Link Between Worlds and Spirit Tracks. No 3D games. It could be amazing to have it work in a 3D setting like this new game.

I love all of your suggestions. Here are five more I would like to see make a return: Lens of Truth It would be amazing if optional dungeons and hidden treasure requires this item to actually see the entrance for access. Magic Arrows Imagine the potential for them to react with the environment. You could create frozen bits of water to walk across to get to a bit of land that is too steep to swim to. You could freeze and burn certain bits of land to cause a rock slide for defeating enemies or to uncover a ruin of a temple to explore for loot. You could possibly use light arrows to temporarily purify an area and prevent the undead from spawning in that area for a period of time. Hover Boots Imagine a new mechanic with them. Rather than walking off an edge and getting 3 to 5 seconds of hovering what if the boots worked where when you run and jump they act just like regular boots but with the press of a specific button on the controller you actually jump upwards a tiny bit from your current position and glide thru the air almost like skating thru the sky. If you come off a cliff you can actualky do this and fall a little then do it again and continue to break your fall by doing this. Yes, you get a sail cloth but this item could still have this use in the over world and all Zelda games have one or two items thst can be used for the same purpose. Goddess Stones - Din's Force etc... These are powerful stones that I feel are useful in a game where enemies will cone at you from all around. Imagine creating a barrier to protect a certain area for x amount of minuets giving you time to switch equipment and prepare yourself for war, using flames to handle crowed control and setting up warp points for fast travel or to escape if you get seen in an area you require stealth for. Mirror Shield Imagine how useful it would be to reflect certain magic based attacks with this shield. I have always been a big fan of this shield and I hope to see it make a return.

So since torches have been seen in gameplay are you glad for the return of a similar item or would you prefer the lantern?

I agree with this list. I'd also like to see the Hero Armor from Twilight Princess return but instead of draining rupees, it should drain the magic meter. Another item from Twilight Princess that would be good is the Hawkeye that can be used with or without the bow. Since stealth is mentioned then what better item to use for long range reconnaissance than the Hawkeye? Furthermore, I would like to see the return of the Goron tunic from Ocarina of Time. However, have it made into an armor like the Zora Armor and give it the ability to have link survive poisonous gasses/vapors/spores. The Iron Boots should also be allowed to make a return. They came in handy at times when extra weight/lower center of gravity was needed. Return their ability to climb magnetic walls, too. Finally, even though we are seeing the return of the sail cloth, the Winged Boots from Ocarina of Time should make a comeback as well. Imagine having the ability to run across a chasm when the Sail Cloth just won't cut it!

if they put back the double clawshot (pretty sure they will) it should be like the 3d maneuvering gear in attack on titan. Sort of. when you activate the 2 clawshots, you should go into either 1st person or stay in 3rd person and have a reticle on screen. Then you can use the clawshots right after another like an FPS or TPS. Then maybe if you can combine items in the game (a new mechanic) then you can propel yourself while you're using the clawshots. OH then if you're hooked to opposite sides of a wall and u use the fire rod you go in a straight line!!!!

I think a sail upgrade (for that raft) is pretty obvious as the demo 1's are all torn and ragged. But I really really want a mini Hot air balloon as an upgrade to the paraglider. There's no way a true adventurer should be hanging on for miles after miles like that, and balloons are class. So now that we know the Book takes care of the magic stuff, Hot air balloon as my No1 choice. Then maybe power bracelets again.

What about the picto box from Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Triforce Heroes?

I just hope they make a game where all I do is upgrade the Hookshot. Hookshot to Clawshot to Long Clawshot to Double Long Clawshot to Nice Double Long Clawshot.

Though technically not an item... I'd like to see loftwings make a return... Link can already glide from high places - it would be nice to see him able to scale them without having to climb... We know that there is a bomb rune - but I'd love to see bombchus return too... perhaps as an early method of puzzle solving that is later made easier with the beetle.

I agree with all but number 5. It's a really niche item that I find wouldn't be as versatile as it could be. I would replace it with the rods (fire/ ice/ maybe even dominion). With ice areas and death mountain, it could bring about awesome ways to travel, get past glaciers with fire, slide across rivers, and deal elemental damage to the respective enemies. With all the killer sheikah tech, a dominion rod or something similar to control robotic octorocs or sheikahn artillery would be awesome. Also, about the bunny hood or Pegasus boots? I think the horses would replace a need for Pegasus boots. And the bunny hood, while it would be amazing for areas without a horse like the trials, I think would only be justified in a return if the happy mask salesman was in the game. Otherwise I would assume an equivalent item might be more appropriate. On a side note, if that old man dies not say "its dangerous to go alone..." I will be very disapointed.

hey, just realized that the tentacle monster (sorry, can't remember name) seems to drip liquid out of it's busted tentacle arm thing.

I want to see an ant version of the beetle so later on when you have enough rupees you can upgrade it with wings maybe even make it dig underground,he return of the invisibility cloak,return of masks and the mask salesman,the return of the hover boots,and that's about it

I would really love to see Elemental rods in the new Zelda game and SPELLS we need spells. Also, I hope they make good stealth segments in this game if there are any. I mean, Wind waker's stealth in Forsaken fortress wasn't the best, but it was ok. The stealth in phantom hourglass on the other hand was my least favorite part in any zelda game.

i know it was supposed to be, but the beetle was never a replacement to the boomerang for me. collecting stuff and hitting switches was fine, and bombing things or scouting ahead were good alternative additions, but it lost most of it's combat potential, and until you got the upgrade it was terribly slow. dual claw shots almost feel like a waste of a slot because it seems like such an obvious pick for a returning item, but i guess if we don't profess our love for it now and then it could be lost inconceivably. i would definitely like to see more magic. rods, medallions, enchant arrows or just enchantments. a musical instrument like the ocarina or windwaker. alternate viable weapons, like the hammers have often been. the skyward strike/blade beam, and the magically enhanced spin attack. the dash mechanic, either through stamina or the pegasus boots, dash attack included. the roc feather or cape, assuming link still doesn't innately jump, or maybe even if he does as a further boost.

I wish they would bring back armor and two-handed swords; and also improve on skyward swords' stamina concept!

The top 5 items to return are.... 5. Zora Armor I want to explore the water areas then ever before it could have some interests under the waters 4. The whip, the whip is an awesome tool because you can attack emenies from far range and swing from one area to another 3. Dominion Rod sense they have statues around the world of Zelda WiiU/NX it would make sense for link to use this power to discover secrets 2. Fire,Ice,Bomb,Hawk and Light arrows all of these arrows could be helpful for certain religions and solve puzzles and even destroy even the toughest of emenies 1.Magic Armor because what better way to use your ruppees then to protect yourself from any danger that is cool That is what I want in Zelda WiiU
