Good looking out battle! I knew they ran a pilot to test OSUT at 22 weeks several years ago but when I looked on the Army website to verify the length, it said 14 weeks...so I thought it changed back to 14. I should have done a bit more research on that but I expected the Army’s website to be up to date lol anyway, thanks for commenting and keeping us on point!
@@SFCBEITZ no worries I’ve followed your channel for awhile and was glad to finally see a new vid posted lol it’s been awhile. So I just finished 22 week Infantry OSUT on June 17, 2021 and we heard several rumors about our training possibly getting cut to 16-17 ect, then we heard it was going back to 14 weeks 🤦♂️ . Now mind you this was all hearsay from PNN (private news network) 😂. So my advice to future 11 Bravos go by what your contract says mine said 24 weeks or until training complete. If you’re holding on to it getting shortened DON’T cause you are probably there what your contract states. #11bangbanglife 💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@jordanjaneiro354 I’m living out in the country right now, and although it’s super peaceful, quiet, and heavily wooded (which I love), the downfall is my internet is slow asf lol loading a normal webpage doesn’t happen instantly, downloading a song can take 20-30 minutes, uploading my latest Airborne video took 6 hours, etc. With that being said, I’m trying to post weekly videos but it’s nearly impossible from where I live. Anyway, I’m working on a video about becoming a Ranger next - well getting your Ranger tab/Ranger School. Then the following video will be about becoming a Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment. You should check those out. Also, did you say you watched my Airborne video? If not, it’s the latest video I posted - check it out. It goes well with these Ranger videos I’m producing.
Great Job Point Man, I enjoyed the video and as a veteran, I agree with your list. I was in Aviation in the Army (87 - 92) and I feel it was the best job in the military. The MOS classification back then was 67 series (currently 15 series) and I worked on and flew in Hueys. Now mostly decommissioned :-( . As a Crew Chief, Flew all over Europe and the North Eastern US. Loved it and truly miss it! It translated to a civilian job when I first got out working for Pratt and Whitney (actually a joint venture company) that made jet engine parts for commercial airlines and the military. Please keep up the great work and thank you for taking the time to put this together.
My buddy is a 12b, he says all he does is clear paths for everyone else and occasionally search for mines, while waiting 4 hours for an EOD specialist to come and disarm it lol it’s not “real” engineering, such a misleading MOS title.
Another good MOS is 42A. Mainly Human resources, it is a job that all companies need completely though yes you do need a degree to be able to be part of that company but being able to have experience in the army for 4+ years in experience fulfills that huge requirement of experience and you just need the education. I wills ay that Combat Medic is the best job if you ever want to become a Nurse. Think there is a program where you can skip the first 2 year or go straight to medical school through a application/raffle process depending on the college or school. If you do plan to stay in the military, working as an HR is a pretty good job in the reserves as a civilian and are always looking for more.
Im so excited. I just joined the New Mexico Army National Guard and I am heading out on the 8 th of March to Basic Training. I picked 11Bravo, I know its going to be a hell of a time.
@@SFCBEITZ really? I know this is a silly thing to say but I didn’t think there was much chance to see somebody who leaves even only a day earlier or even a few days earlier , I thought it had to be same day . I definitely can’t wait though, lot of people tell me embrace the suck but I can’t be mad at 3 meals a day guaranteed and a bed! I know it’s a lot more than that but I’m grateful to be able to have even make it through MEPS and swer in. Hooah!
Yeah bro, you guys will be in reception at the same time and will have the same basic training start date...I can’t say you’ll be in the same company or see each other, but, you’ll be going through the suck together lol that’s exactly how you gotta look at it, what you said is spot on! Everyday there is what you make of it...although there may be a couple times where you are like, shit, why the hell did I join 😭🤣 but when it gets tough, think about why you signed up and how great it’ll feel when you graduate. Graduation day is one of the best days of my life, still to this day. Have you watched my “The Basic Training Guide” video?
At this rate I don’t know if many people are lining up to be cops. And how is anything like 25B/25D not on this list? The job is great with a ton of certifications. The job can allow remote work in the Army and in the civilian sector. And most civilian IT jobs pay very well compared to the rest on this list.
@@fabiolavillanueva6465 I was a 25B for 7 years and 25D for 4 years as a SSG. What you want to know? Most of my 25B work was help desk work at Special assignments like NATO and 3rd Army/ARCENT. As a 25D I did the Command Cyber Readiness Inspections. So I worked a lot with Windows and HBSS inspections.
That’ll benefit you both tremendously! He will need your support more than ever while he’s gone. Soldiers perform better when their loved ones are cheering them on and sending them letters. Once he gets to AIT he should be able to communicate a lot more than at Basic Training.
Following up! How’s things going with hubby being away? Hopefully you are holding up okay! How is he doing? If I can assist with anything, I’m always here.
Hey man just wanted to say this video has helped me out a lot! I just took the ASVAB to join the National Guard and scored a 92. I qualified for all MOS and narrowed it down to top 5 being 15T, 25S, 12Y, 35G and 68W. I'm in Georgia and am trying to pick what would give me the best options civilian side but 15T seems most appealing. Any recommendations/insight on these 5 would be great! Thanks a ton!
Great score! We probably aren’t too far away because I’m in TN, close to the GA border! Well, I like all the jobs you are considering. Something I might take in consideration if I were you is: do any of those MOS’s in your state have a sign on bonus? Have you spoke w a Recruiter yet? If not, ask if any of those have a bonus. I love 15 series jobs, 12 series, 35 series, 25 series, and 68W I respect on a high level. Huge difference in all of them though.
There's one thing I don't get, I took the ASVAB practice test and I scored 60 according to my recruiter the highest anyone can get its a 70. The recruiter was very impressed about my score that she encouraged me to take the real test same day. NOW, the scores require for most of the MOS just mentioned in the video, are way above to what I scored, or could possibly score. I wonder if every state scores differently. I'm from Texas by the way.
Going OCS route in the Guard (should be shipping out in summer, waiting for meps right now), looking at signal corps, flying is cool so maybe I look into aviation because alot of people seem to enjoy that. Infantry is an option well but might not be the best translation. Still have a ways to go so just doing research and being prepared.
Putting yourself ahead of your peers by taking the time now to research for the future. That’s how you put yourself in a better situation in life in general, but, same applies to the military.
@@SFCBEITZ would it be possible, I have slight ADD, it doesn’t hinder my job I have now, I can function normal and have not been on any medication in the last 7 years or my life for it… Im just asking you as a former recruiter, would that be something that would be a disqualification for enlisting ? If so, I don’t need to bother wasting my time talking to a recruiter if it means I don’t get in.
@@michaelstines1022 if you’ve been off the medication for 7 years, there’s a high probability that you should be able to enlist! How old are you? - there’s a reason behind this question. I have slight ADD myself but I never mentioned it at MEPS because a doctor never actually diagnosed me. I just know for sure that I have it and have had it ever since I can remember. I have OCD as well, it’s kinda bad but it sorta helped me in the military because I was very organized with everything I did. Lately me OCD has been on another level…but it’s not taking over my life or anything, I’m just insanely organized and clean. My car and house have to be spotless, I keep everything very orderly, and it can be a bit mentally tiring but all and all I don’t mind having it.
@@SFCBEITZ yessir, I am 23 about to be 24. And I have OCD as well.. but everything mine has to be in its place I am very neat with everything I do as well. And I completely understand what you are saying…and yes, to answer that, I have been off of medication for 7 years, and actually have not had medication for it. As I have gotten older, I have learn to deal with my ADD, and I make myself do things right then or write it down so I don’t forget but I get distracted, but then I go back and complete it. But I know from what I’ve heard and watched videos, the military wants you to do what they say and follow the orders given to you. Which would be good for me, bc I like following orders and things like that to keep me in line.
Have you officially been diagnosed with ADD? If so, before you even meet a Recruiter, this is what you should do: go to the doctor that diagnosed you/prescribed you meds, and get a letter from the doctor that says you use to take whatever medication it was, but, you no longer do, and haven’t since X (whenever you stopped taking it). If the doctor would say you no longer require medication and you’re fit for military service, it’ll help your chances tremendously. Also, I’m trying to think of a way that we can prove you’re fine without medication. One thing I use to do in the past to prove this is: say my applicant was a high school student, I would get their high school transcripts from before they stopped the meds and after. If grades stay the same, that provides some proof. I’m going to make a FB page/group soon so that I can chat with people in a more personal setting.
Excellent sir. Hope this type of job helps me create new skill that are more than just basic customer service and retail. Same goes to mail handler assistant at USPS
Most of them you recommend are combat related MOS. Best jobs are ITs related and medical. Because ITs and medical are easier to transfer to civilian workforce or education.
I did the list based on transfer to civilian workforce and enjoyment combined or the list would have been different, but, I feel you! I think I’m going to do a list strictly on jobs that transfer best to the workforce, think I should? I was also thinking about doing best Army tech/IT jobs or something like that.
@@SFCBEITZ Yes, understood sarge. But I know the combat branches have been having some shortages but putting them on as top 5 jobs for ANG and Reserves seem to be a bit awkward. Especially Reserves don't have combat mos. Moreover with the new ACFT qualifications for these MOS, I think you should mention that as well.
The Reserves do have combat MOS’s, I think all the jobs that made the top 5 are available in both the ARNG and Reserves (they don’t have Infantry but that didn’t make the Top 5). Again, the list was just based on my personal opinion...I am no longer a Recruiter and what MOS people join doesn’t help or hurt me. It was literally just based off my opinion along with a couple other battle buddies input. I appreciate your comments though! I love hearing other people’s thoughts and suggestions! Us all sharing are thoughts and opinions just make us better!
@@SFCBEITZ beg your pardon sarge, reserves only pertain to combat support MOS, the last reserve combat MOS I heard of is the 100th infantry battalion based in Hawaii. It's the only infantry unit in the Reserve.
I’m not a subject matter expert with the option 40 contract because it’s an Active Duty contract and I recruited for the National Guard - although I was in the Regular Army for some years. I don’t believe they have specific times they’re available - the Army starts offering them on a supply/demand basis, and I don’t think they have a demand for them right now. That could change at anytime so it would be best to keep close contact with a Recruiter. I would seek more info here: www.goarmy.com/ranger/your-questions-about-serving.html
Have you ever heard of Light Infantry? I heard they can be reserve and still fight with the 11B infantry if require. I ask my recruiter he said doesn't exist
You have Light Infantry and Mechanized Infantry, both are 11B’s. Light Infantry primarily move on foot, Mechanized primarily get to their objective by vehicle. I don’t think the Army Reserve has 11B’s, just the Regular Army and Army National Guard. I was Mechanized Infantry when I was active duty but we still did a lot of road marches and foot patrols.
MPs= gate Duty/ guard Duty in BFE.. but if you must go that route go Air Force SF.. live the good life and still get to fill out your resume. It's like 80% of the Air Force
It depends upon where you are stationed at. If you’ve served, you know everything comes down to what unit you’re with - missions differ. When I was overseas (Iraq) as an Infantryman, MPs were patrolling the streets and raiding houses. On one patrol we got called to assist an MP unit who got ambushed in the sector next to ours. They hit an IED which disabled their lead vehicle, then almost immediately they started taking heavy gun fire. They took multiple casualties and 1 KIA. I won’t get into the graphic details but a day I can’t forget. Anyway, the Air Force is definitely more kush though if that’s what you prefer (not a bad thing lol).
@@SFCBEITZ I have served ..16S.. E-6.. I enlisted lot earlier than you did. And I'm still sticking to my opinion if you're going to do any kind of MP Duty. Live the good life in stick in the Air Force..
I hear MP's suck because of long irregular hours and mundane tasks. Is it different for reserve units? Because you are there shorter times? Anyone have any insight on MP as a reserve.
@@master09ace yea man. I’m Actully a MP for the Illinois nations guard. It is very different from active duty MP. As a reserve unit we focus more on riot control especially with what is going on today and we do get called up a lot when anything happens pertaining riot control. Compared to active duty MP when they do normal policing on a base.
One of my best friends who I enlisted into the National Guard is a Police Officer and he’s part of SWAT. I’m going to be interviewing him next month so definitely stay tuned for that video!
If you want to make more views and subscribers, I think people would appreciate you if you do videos on specific MOS. There is a Military RU-vidr called Christopher Chaos who creates a specific video about each MOS.
Thanks man. Yes, I know of Chris and I plan to make specific MOS videos. Right now I’m still in the military so it’s hard for me to make more than one video per week (sometimes it takes a little longer than a week depending upon my schedule). My goal is to start making two videos per week once I retire - which will be in the next 6-8 months!
I just want to start this by saying I love your videos. I was wondering if you could do a video on what it is like/what it takes to be an officer in the National Guard? I'm currently in ROTC but I would also like to work a civilian job once I graduate.
Thanks so much for your support and feedback! Yes, that specific video will be coming in the semi near future (in the next 2-3 videos I drop). It has been highly requested for awhile now. I have many friends who are officers in the National Guard and I need to ping them for some info so I can make sure what I put out is the most accurate possible. What year are you in?
Just signed contract last week for 12T, very excited but not shipping out until August. What do you think about this MOS? My goal is to be come officer in 12 series. Is this a good starts?
Great choice! That MOS is pretty rare, I never enlisted anyone as a 12T when I was Recruiting because that job was never available! It will workout perfect to for your future plans to become an officer!
I really appreciate that comment my brother! Should I do more like this? Like for example: Top 5 Admin Jobs - Army/Army National Guard/Army Reserve, Top 5 Tech Jobs - Army/Army National Guard/Army Reserve, Top 5 Combat Jobs - Army/Army National Guard/Army Reserve, etc? So people can see jobs that might be right for them in their specific field interest?
@@SFCBEITZ for sure. I love what you're doing, you help a lot of people out like myself looking to get into the military. in thinking 12T. I'm just not sure if I can take the big step and go all in.
Engineers are always a good choice, like I said in the video. I appreciate your feedback and I’m so glad I can help others in this way. Instead of jumping all in, maybe consider joining the National Guard where you serve part time but don’t jump in making a full time commitment right off the bat. Just a thought. Then if you really enjoy it either look at going full time Guard or transfer and go Active Army. At some point I’m going to make a video about full time Guard, not too many people know about it or how it works.
Hey Sargent I was thinking of 91 fox small arms and artillery repairman what do you think about that mos...I want to be a gunsmith or a firearms instructor for the local pd or sheriff's...let me know if you think that's a good idea

A 12 Bravo (combat engineer) has almost Nothing to do with being an Engineer that makes $90k in the civilian world. That is a person with a University Degree, get real!
Thanks for your wonderful and positive incite! One of my soldiers (a good friend now) that I enlisted in 2012 as an Engineer works on the civilian side as a Senior Control Engineer and he makes six figures. He started off at the company with no college degree making decent money but then used his educational benefits from the National Guard to get his degree! 😁
Is there any chance of getting airborne after basic training or during osut as an army national guard? My MOS is 13B and will be leaving in May to Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Yes you can get airborne school, but it has to be in your contract at MEPS or you must be very competitive and get selected at OSUT! They offer those slots to those soldiers who stand out and excel - there’s only limited slots so they only give those to the most dedicated - and sometimes the person gets a bit lucky.
Consider one of the MOS’s in my second most recent video called Army Top Tech jobs! However, another option: you could really do any job you wanted and gain a skill in something different or even just do something fun and exciting that’s different than what you do on a day to day basis to switch things up a bit.
Did they change MP OSUT from 20 to 14 weeks? Also as an MP I can say that this ain’t it man😂 30% Platoon duty, 30% Field training, 30% Rotational deployments, 9% paper work, 1% actually working Law Enforcement
Yes, I believe they recently changed all the OSUT training lengths - it’s not updated on the Army website but it is on the National Guard. lol Are you AD or NG? A lot of the time it comes down to your Command. The unit I put the majority of the 31Bs I enlisted is pretty high speed and are always going to wild training locations or can volunteer to go on some slick mobilizations.
If you are saying that MP can be a full-time civilian police officer in national guard, how do soldiers complete police academy in the civilian side? Police Academy will take around 6 months to complete it
This ones a bit more tricky. When you’re a full time MP in the National Guard, you’re not patrolling the civilian streets unless you’re activated due to a crisis. Full time MP positions in the National Guard are limited and those individuals do a variety of different things like, run some of our shooting ranges, prepare training for MPs, etc. The Guard requires full time staff for a variety of different reasons.
Wow! This is my first super thanks! I appreciate it so much! I apologize that I didn't respond to your latest comments sooner! I had a ton going on that took me away from RU-vid but I am back! This super thanks really just motivated me to keep pushing hard to help people like yourself! I cannot say thanks enough! I will never forget you doing that and I am always here for you!
@@SFCBEITZ Praise God! You have the best videos regarding the National Guards I have seen on the internet and I’ve seen lots of videos. You are very talented. Your explanation is very easy to understand. Keep doing it bro.
Do you know what female soldiers usually go into? Because I want to join when I turn 17 or a little bit after but then I’ve watched videos about how men don’t like woman going for 11b etc anything combative
I’ve literally enlisted females into tons of different MOS’s. I’d say the most common would be 42A human resource specialist, 31B military police, or 68W combat medic. I’d take the ASVAB and see what jobs you qualify for, then based on that, pick which is most appealing to you and don’t even worry about what anyone else thinks! Females weren’t allowed as Infantry when I was an Infantryman, but, we worked with female search teams who were MPs and we loved working with them.
25B/Information Technology Specialist would be very similar to that - which I think is one of the best jobs to do in the Army/Army National Guard/Army Reserves because it’s very relevant to civilian jobs.
Pinned top comment! Thanks battle! That means the most! I really put time and effort into it. Do you think I should do MOS videos where I just break down MOS’s? 13F is a dope MOS! You want a breakdown sent on here?
@@SFCBEITZ Yes, and go in depth!!! A lot of times the most important details never make a video and will only be discovered after deep research of the regulations.
@@isidorebranham5327 I love that idea and it is definitely something I will do in the future. The only downside from a creators standpoint is that those videos will primarily be viewed by just the people interested in that specific MOS. However, like I said, it is something that I will definitely do regardless because I know that it will be a tremendous help to the people seeking information on that specific MOS and YOU recommended it.
i have a history of minor marijuana possession and paraphernalia possession. im waiting on my waivers right now. do i a have to worry about a security clearance for 25b?
Any job that requires a clearance, you won’t be able to do right out the gate. After you have 3 years of credible service then you can “apply” for a clearance.
i'm on the fence of doing 13f or 14p those 2 stand out the most to me. but i'm also thinking about 11b because i think sf/ranger would be awesome and that's a good starting point. only bad thing is i've heard a lot of infantry guys saying they're basically janitors lawnmowers etc. any opinions/thoughts?
Are you looking at Army or National Guard? In my 3 years Active Duty as an Infantryman I can’t recall ever pushing a broom. We always had stuff going on. However, everything comes down to your command. My Command was super high speed and kept us training to prepare to fight and sent us home when we didn’t have anything going on so that we could spend time with our families. Shame on you if you’re standing around pushing a broom. If you’re on duty and nothings taking place at that moment, I’d be asking my Team Leader what I could be doing during the down time that would help me toward promotion, or I’d be reading battle drills, or knocking out correspondence courses. In OSUT or BCT/AIT, you’ll push a broom. You will have to keep your area of operations clean and tidy, it’s a discipline thing. You learn to keep your area clean, bunk clean, which leads to you keeping your uniform clean, your weapon clean, etc. I’d go Infantry over 13P or 14P. Those jobs you’ll be in one spot a lot. Infantry, you’ll constantly be on the go and yes, it’ll also give you a better chance at going to some high speed schools. However, just because I know I’d like Infantry better, doesn’t mean you would. Just keep digging and researching before you finalize your decision.
@@SFCBEITZ thanks bro. i'm looking at army active duty. 14p did look pretty fun because it's air and missile defense and it's a 20k signing bonus. obviously i'd rather pick a job that i enjoy than just one with a fat check but i'll keep looking around and see if anything catches my eye. thanks for the input
@@neon1hp awesome man if i wanted combat it wouldve been 13F. Was gonna warn you not to do 14 series as i am currently shafted. Though 14P is the beat one out of it But 13F is capable of alot more stuff and ADA is trash. Currently in the field lmao
Bro! I enlisted a dude like 10 years ago (he was the second person I ever enlisted) as a 91F and he opened up his own gun shop in Wisconsin using the skills he learned and certificates he acquired! 91F has 18 Nationally Recognized Certifications available. As a Small Arms/Artillery Repairer, you’ll perform maintenance and repairs and keep a wide array of weapons, from small arms to field artillery and large ballistic missiles operating properly. Regardless the MOS, there’s always extra training available. Whoever your Squad Leader or Team Leader is will be able to provide you additional training or get you into specialty schools.
Oh nice! I Recruited in a little area called Antigo for awhile before I transferred to TN! If you need any assistance with any part of your service just give me a shout.
If you are joining the Texas National Guard as a part-time soldier and going to college in Texas as a full-time college student. Will the military pay for you to travel to Texas and settle in college dorms and showing up one weekend drill per month and 2 weeks training during the summer?
They will pay for your college and pay you the GI Bill which you can use however you would like (travel, gas, rent, etc). They will pay you for your drill one weekend per month and annual training but you have to provide your transportation to drill. If drill is somewhere other than at your normal armory, you will drive to your armory and they will provide transportation beyond that.
The Army Reserves is basically the same deal but if your Reserve center is over 50 miles from your Residence they will pace you in a hotel. Its its over 100 they pay for your gas.
@@richie9878 that’s a fact! The Guard paid for my hotel when I was outside of a 50 mile radius as well but I am not certain if they still do that or not. I’ll find out.
First, I’d consider the Guard over the Reserve for many reasons. One of those reasons is, the Guard has a lot more jobs available. You should really do your job regardless of the MOS - if you’re not doing your job, it’s because your leaders have failed to prepare for training. What I would recommend is, try to find out the best units in your state. A unit that does good high speed training. Then pick your job based on what MOS’s that high speed unit has available. Does that make sense? Below is a video I made about my experience in the Reserves. Granted it’s just my experience and it’s certainly not the same in every unit, that was just about my specific unit. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qkwL-6mASPU.html
Do you know anyone in your state that’s in the Guard? Most soldiers know or quickly find out the best units. Your Recruiter would know but I wouldn’t trust him/her to the fullest because they’ll probably say all units are really good in this state or they will try and tell you a specific unit is good because they are trying to fill that specific unit. As a Recruiter, I would never do that because your word means everything in Recruiting, but, just be cautious. You could even try googling “best National Guard units in (enter your state)”. If you can find a forum, that might be a good option. A Recruiter will know the best because they work with units statewide and they hear about what goes on within units.
@@SFCBEITZ I'm weary of asking a recruiter for the very reasons you just laid out. I think I'll try and hit the forums or pop the Google search you suggested. Thank you for the advice!

I appreciate the love bro! One of the 5 MOS’s I’m qualified in is 88M. I really enjoyed the training at AIT - it’s a mix of hands on and classroom time. You learn to operate quite a few different vehicles and learn maintenance on them. In some states you can use one of the many certifications you get while at AIT to get your CDL. In the National Guard you’ll spend a lot of your time transporting troops or equipment to different training sites or armories; if there’s a natural disaster of some type you’ll likely transport supplies into the location the disaster hit to help the people of the community. Skills you learn: Vehicle Operations, Loading & Unloading, Map Reading MOS Overview: As a Motor Transport Operator, you’ll play an important part of the Army’s transportation logistics team. You’ll supervise and operate wheeled vehicles over all types of terrain to safely transport cargo, troops, and provide advanced mobility on all missions. You’ll manage loading, unloading, and report any vehicle problems or damage. Basic Combat Training: 10 weeks Advanced Individual Training: 7 weeks 17 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available as a 88M. I hope this helps!
Is 92S a boring job? Also if I don't like my job is there a way I can change it? My recruiter told me something about 2 jobs, cause I want to change to infantry
That’s crazy you bring up 92S, I was just talking about that job earlier because I’m thinking about bringing it up in my next video lol I’ve never enlisted anyone in that MOS and I’ve never met anyone with that MOS so I can’t be too sure on the job quality...but I know it’s a good job if you’re interested in the hospitality field. I am qualified in 5 military occupational specialties so you can definitely switch jobs while serving. There’s not a regulation that states you have to do a job for a certain amount of time before you can switch but you have to realize that the Army/Army National Guard/Army Reserve pay a lot of money to send you to an MOS school. They likely won’t let you switch jobs right after getting back from one school because they just paid all that money to get you trained to do a specific job. Does that make sense? I think the shortest time I did a job before going to a new MOS school was about 12 months.
I am currently an 11B but my contract is ending soon. Trying to find an mos to reclass into next that is less ware on my body but won’t be totally boring.
After my 11B contract I switched to 88M because I was so tired of walking everywhere and didn’t want to destroy my body any longer 😆 hmmm I would definitely look and see which jobs have a reenlistment bonus…then maybe narrow it down from there. If nothing on that list sounds good, find something that you enjoy. Personally, the job I didn’t do, that I wish I would have done is 25V, Army Combat Documentation/Production Specialist because I’m very into this topic…but I am qualified in 5 MOS’s. Supply was the most helpful job for my career as a full time soldier.
Im in the process of going in as 11b. I have to give my recruiter some medical paperwork and im good. but after watching a shit ton of soldiers break their legs and spine during jump school im starting to lean more toward 35L,35M, 19D or 31B. What are your thoughts?
As a 11B you don’t have to go to jump school! Airborne/Air Assault are schools you can voluntarily attend but they’re not forced on you. Honestly, I like all 5 of the jobs you listed. If I had to put them in order from 1 to 5 out of my personal choices: 1. 11B 2. 35L 3. 35M 4. 31B 5. 19D. The 35 series jobs will be a lot different than the other 3 because they’re non combat jobs.
@@thehostwiththemost5516 no problem brother! I make it a priority to respond to all my viewers so if you need any assistance along your journey, I’m here for you!
@@SFCBEITZ Recruiter said I have to get my family doc to sign off on a paper saying I have full range of motion in my wrist(had a plate put in after a fracture). Problem is I owe that doc 2000 before they’ll see me. I wonder if I can go to another orthopedic and have them sign off on it?
Out of the options you gave, I'd go the engineer route. One of my best friends was Navy, then switched to Army and became a 12B. He retired a couple years ago and he works as a civilian contractor for the military as an engineer making insane money. He loved being an Army engineer. Also, out of all the soldiers I enlisted into the Army, engineers seem the most content with their MOS. So, I would suggest a 12 series MOS.
@@SFCBEITZI know this has been several months, due to a conditional release. I am officially in the army guard as a combat engineer 12B. Thank you for the recommendation.
So I’m looking at these mos for texas, 12K,12M,12Q,12N,12V and 12W and I wanna use them for there certifications even go to trade schools/college to get better my background and own a business one day.. I’m just stuck at a crossroads my recruiter just landed me an opening on 12w, but 12n,12v and 12k are the ones I really want just waiting for the update every hour, tomorrow I take my asvab, then staying at Meps for my physical the next day, Any advice is great thanks
No way! I went through Infantry School with a dude who was 42 lol as long as your body is healthy you shouldn’t have any problems! Have you watched any of my Infantry videos yet? I have like 3 or 4! If you want to do something wild and exciting, with a high level of professionalism, Infantry would be a good choice!
I'm 28 as well thinking about infantry but I would have to get a waiver for a prior lower back injury. In your professional opinion is this a terrible idea?
I just took the ASVAB and scored 84 so I qualified for like 99% of the jobs excluding the officer jobs cause I'm 17. If I enlist as active can I still study online classes? And if I can't how do I become an officer?
Great score bro! Yes, you can most definitely take courses online! I highly suggest it, it’ll help you get promoted and eventually become an officer! I physically went to college when I was active duty, it’s tough to make happen but it’s possible.
If the charges were expunged, then you can likely get a moral waiver approved and you’ll be able to get in. Just bring your Recruiter your expungement paperwork (you might have to go to the courthouse and get it) and you should be good. If it has been expunged it shouldn’t matter which state it happened or which state you enlist!
Possibly - so he charged but not convicted? Did he take some kind of plea deal or was it dropped without any kind of plea deal? If it was dropped without any kind of plea deal and he can provide the court documents, there’s definitely a chance he can get in.
I’m qualified as an 88M! Do you think I should do specific MOS videos kind of like this one but on each MOS? So like a video for 88M by itself or 13B by itself? What do you suggest?
@@SFCBEITZ yes I would love that. A video fully about 88 mikes and what the job entails etc. and what u personally thought about it. It would be very helpful. I am debating about going that route in my states NG but I don’t see too much recent info on it.
I think it’s an absolutely great option. Definitely will translate to the civilian world exceptionally well. AIT for 17C is extremely long but that’s not a bad thing. You’ll definitely need a high ASVAB score for this MOS and a very clean background.
I am not super versed on the Scholarship although I was able to assist one of my first recruits in getting the Scholarship. If you’re interested in this, I’d suggest having the campus Recruiter assist you in completing the packet because they’ll be the subject matter expert. It’s such a great benefit. Minuteman Scholarships can be either two-year GRFD scholarships or DEDNG-GRFD scholarships that cover up to four years. They guarantee that Cadets who commission as Army officers will serve in the Guard. A Minuteman Scholarship requires a nomination letter as part of the scholarship packet and offers either full tuition and mandatory fees or a room and board flat rate of $10,000 per year, covering up to four years (or eight semesters) of benefits. Minuteman Scholarship recipients also receive a $1,200 annual book allowance and a monthly stipend of $420 for 10 months of the academic year. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets must participate in the SMP while attending college, so they will also receive pay for attending a drill one weekend per month and a two-week annual training in a local Guard unit. In return for these scholarship benefits, a Minuteman Cadet will serve as a Commissioned Officer in the Guard in a drilling status for eight years after graduation. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets can be nominated from any State Adjutant General (TAG) or any Civilian Aid to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) in lengths of two years, up to four years, for a scholarship. These scholarships are limited each year, and applications require a nomination memo with a handwritten signature from the nomination source.

I’d really recommend doing something you personally enjoy though. It does not have to be the same thing you plan on doing on the civilian side either! Maybe switch it up so you have experience in two different fields and stack up that resume.
I would love to talk to you about jobs honestly I just took the asvab 4/7/2023 . I was thinkin MP but i just feel there is much better jobs out there So please get back with me ! I have also thought about going to Air Force
Infantry! No but I'd suggest the Army National Guard over the Reserves anyway! Watch this video I made: Army National Guard vs Army Reserve: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z8ozUaObm0Y.htmlsi=cfzB1-oJqBAGfGv6
They can definitely be sent to a combat zone but they do not really fight unless they want to or it’s needed...for example, as a combat medic, you might be assigned to an Infantry unit. If the Infantry unit deploys, the combat medic goes on the deployment as well. The medic will go on missions with the Infantryman sometimes too. If there’s a firefight, the medic won’t really be in that engagement unless they want/need to. Now, if an Infantryman is shot or injured during the firefight, the medic will have to get involved in the situation and get to that soldier immediately to provide medical attention. The medic I had as an Infantryman always wanted to engage the enemy in shootouts, and he did occasionally. However, he wasn’t trained on the level we were for those type of threats so we would make him stay in the vehicle until the firefight was over if we felt like he was in too much danger. I hope this answers your question!
If you’re really into law enforcement type work, 31B. If you’re more into building and blowing things up, 12B. I think if it were me, I’d go 12B personally...or if you are on the wire, and one of those jobs have a sign on bonus, go with the one that has a bonus!
Recruiters can be misleading for sure. For Guard Recruiters, that would be a bad decision though. They could be stationed at the same location for many years...so if they form a reputation of being untrustworthy, they are screwed and they won’t last long. The Regular Army Recruiters only do 3 year rotations so they can get away with some BS, because by the time they have soldiers return from Active Duty back to their hometown, they’re already stationed elsewhere. It’s always good to educate yourself though. Even after talking to a Recruiter, do your research. If you find out they lied to you, find a new Recruiter immediately.
