5:21 Secret to your secret: being in Auto also allows manual switching. So if Auto is on Max (blue line) but you want less regen you don't have to leave Auto. Simply press right "Regen-button" and then you can lower Regen while still being in Auto Mode, so it can max it by itself when needed. I really only use Auto, because less consumption and best comfort
Translation for your courtesy: "There is also the "Snow" mode for cooler driving on snow. This deactivates the regeneration system to prevent the wheels from sliding if the throttle is released too quickly. The power of the vehicle is also reduced in order to avoid a slip when starting the vehicle. To make this choice, press the driving mode for a few seconds on the steering wheel." (P.S.: I'm not sure if regen is really disabled, because braking by regen is much more gentle on snow than applying physical brakes).
Thank you for demonstrating the media toggle switch! A lot of reviewers complaining about the rare occurrences of turning up the heat when they mean to increase the volume 🙄. Audio buttons have been available on steering wheels for the longest, but I digress. What are your thoughts of the Kia/Hyundai software UX compared to competitors?
I absolutely love it. One of my favorite design languages. It is quite responsive too. Hyundai/Kia has been killing it for awhile and don’t seem to be slowing down. They just have a lot of stigma to overcome
Thank you for showing the trick with the media - climate operation. So far I have only seen this in your video, but in all others it is always only complained that there can be incorrect operation because you no longer know in which menu you are there. Kia has remedied this there
The window thing worked with my 2024 AWD-wind. BTW, I'm curious what the brake lights do when you use the regen braking to come to a full stop. I'm thinking they must come on at some point?
Didn’t know about Auto regen braking! Can’t wait to test that out tomorrow.

If your press and hold the ESC button for a few seconds, a second level to limit the stability control system switches on. I don't suppose the traction control is off all the way, but it sure let's you throw the rear axle sidaways way easier.
5:25 NO, that is dangerously incorrect. Auto-regen mode does NOT bring you to a stop. You must be be prepared to use the brake pedal if you want to come to a full stop before hitting what is in front of you.
Learned the wrong way that at 100% charge (suggested to do monthly) and if you live in the mountains, you can not use regen braking as needed for your trip downhill..so it is like not being able to down shift and you have to rely on the brakes. I had to continually brake down my 3 mile trip to flat ground after a 1300’ elevation drop. It didn’t occur to me beforehand but leave a little room in your charge for regeneration!
If you have auto climate on, the air will switch to recycle interior air only when you approach a tunnel and switch back to exterior air when you exit the tunnel
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Brought home an EV6 GT-LINE yesterday. First time with any type of electric vehicle. I look forward to learning more from you. Many thanks!
Man been driving my KIA EV6 for two years now, and didnt know about the auto swap to default mode, man i wish iv knew about that from the get go, THANK YOU
Hi Another hidden feature is that u can make the brake more stronger if you put it on sport mode brake . It is very useful for stopping the car more fast and better control.
Maybe there are some additional Sounds of Nature in a firmware update? That was the case with me, when I installed one in my Genesis GV60 recently, and I have most of the same Sounds of Nature as you have.
My first time by your channel. Enjoyed it. Just got our EV6 couple of days ago and exploring all its incredible features. Another one is automatic parking assist which will help with parallel or perpendicular parking. My salesman didn’t even know about this. He kept saying it didn’t have this feature.
I'm considering a BEV for my next car (which would be my first EV), so blogs like this are incredibly useful as I make a final purchase decision. Thanks for posting this!
If you hold the left-regen paddle after taking the foot off the "gas" pedal (LOL!!!) you can slow/stop the car and it won't change whatever setting you have assigned to the regen system.
Great video!! I have one more feature. From the slash screen if you press on battery it will bring you to the charging percentage settings for DC and AC charging. I learned a couple things about my car. Thank you sir...
Does the EV6 actually come to a stop in Auto regen mode? I’ve tried it on mine and it seems to creep below about 5 mph. I have to hit the brake pedal or grab the left paddle to come to a complete stop.
Great - thanks for sharing. All but the Climate Control default feature are available on the GV60 too. Maybe someone with a Ionic 5 can confirm if it’s the same for all the E-GMP family.
If I were coasting down the freeway with the exploring the universe sound in the background, 100% I will hit the one tree in the desert 🤣 those sounds combined with a car are an unal1ving machine 🙈
There's also a super duper secret feature, if you tap the nav button you can change the volume of the stereo! Honestly, I should have a billion subscribers.
If u drive in max regen does the car use more battery? I say this because u have to push the accelerator down a lot further to get the car to go and acceleration is a lot slower.
On the GT line those heated seat and steering wheel buttons are touch sensitive and accidentally get pushed on a lot when using the UI screen. I personally don't care for heated seats or steering wheel where I live so would like to deactivate them entirely. I wonder it that would be done with one fuse and where that would be ? Inquiring minds want to know.
Just get used to operate your media/climate controls without coming close to the seat heating/cooling buttons. Trust me, after 1 month of frequent operation of your EV6, you'll know to avoid it intuitively and never think about it anymore.
On my car, GTL Europe, my front windows go up off you hold the lock button, also, on auto regen, there are 3 versions, 1,2 or 3 auto, also many more that you didn't mentioned
Yes, you can change the auto regen intensity using the paddles, but if the car detects something in front, it will alter the regen setting again - hence "automatic". So it's more something, e.g., to adjust (increase regen) for downhill driving with no cars driving in front of you.
Hi guys, I live in Colorado and the snow seems to cover the sensors and every time I stop the car it starts beeping like crazy and I can’t figure out how to turn those sounds off. I would like ALL the safety sounds to go away. I can’t find this information anywhere 😭 please help
Brush the snow off the sensors when you brush it off the rest of the car. I also recommend surface treating the windshield, windows, cameras, sensor covers, and mirror glass, with a rain repellent, so water and snow doesn’t stick there to begin with.
Hey man I've been loving your videos since I ran into one on my home page. Would you be open the idea of working together where I do you editing for you? I specialize in getting RU-vidrs just like you get more views by editing high retention videos combined with hooking thumbnails with over 6 years of experience and over 200+ videos edited blah blah blah ... but I can do a full sample video with thumbnail and a 60 second youtube short just to show I know what I'm doing
You missed two really important ones. i-pedal driving is a really brilliant feature. Set it with the left paddle. Second is a great time saver - when you have finished your drive, all you do is turn the power off. It goes into park, the brake is applied and you don't need to do anything else. I think the two I have described are much more important than your trivial colour changes.
Thank you for that. Can someone please tell me how to lock and unlock the door with the key in my pocket because it’s starting to get very annoying that I have to use the key to unlock and unlock my doors. Thank you.
Needs NACS pronto. Also complete over the other updates for both software and hardware. Basically all of the strong abilities the Tesla offers, but love those paddle shifters, head up display and complete 360 surround view on the screen,, an on off button sometimes when I go in the car, I don’t need to power up everything. Also if the current Hyundai group EV platform is going away, I would wait for the new one unless it’s 5 to 10 years away.
You can peel off the screen protector of the media/climate panel! The film is mounted really tight, but keep scratch with a fingernail in one of the top corners, and you will eventually be able to take it off - and it´s all worth it! I´ve done it in mine - and WOW it looks awesome and shiney!! 🤩🤩👍🏻👍🏻
I saw it on another YT video that the ACTUAL Model Year 2023 has automatic window actuators for both the front AND the rear side windows, and hence, also open and close all four windows when you hold and press open/close on your keyfob. I.e., if you only have 2 windows on auto, you still got a MY22, unfortunately. There is another detail that has changed, but forgot about it.
@@MetzTechWonder if it's some kind of (silly) safety requirement in the US, i.e. to prevent someone closing the window when they are too far away to make sure someone's finger isn't going to get stuck in it or something.
A lot of reviewers miss this, so some people may not be aware, but there is a slot under the false floor for storing the cargo cover when not in use. This may not be as big an issue in the US, but the navigation system will warn you of upcoming speed cameras and highlight your speed if you are over. In addition, when you enter an average speed zone, it will display your average speed and how far you have to the end of the zone to get your average speed under the limit.
Hyundai is the parent company of Kia. So they share a lot of similar parts and software including their infotainment systems. That’s why I mentioned Hyundai. You learn something new everyday!
Sorry, but these are not hidden features… hidden would be the engineering menu and those settings - all features that you showed are in the manual. Usefull of course, but not hidden.
