Good video. I only tried one prefab box since i have been into car audio. Once you go custom you don't go back. I have had some great builders but that mbe gets the job done. Simple and effective is the key. Much love to all.

Awesome video as ways my dude, i do have to agree with some of the gentleman in the comment section about the prices of some of the listed boxes, for the price of some of those boxes yoi can get your self two of these solo x subs and a middle grade box and bump. In my case i make my own boxes based on my installation needs, i got the mobile solutions gear to make them look pretty now lol, on another note some of the boxes you showed here are priced very well. If i didn't make my own stuff, i would buy one of those.😎👌

Thank's for taking the time to do this, Big D, great information! To all the people complaining about the fully Loaded= with 4- 600 watt square kickers, in the Kicker Quad Box for $1799. Now you see what a Kerf Ported, Internally Braced, and Double Baffled enclosure is worth!

I bought the biggest 15" box from atrend and my comp Q class on 1500 watts made it falll apart. GP high output 15 box has been amazing for 2 months.

I am with you on that. For the price of the Gately box I could buy a used Delta Unisaw, used Makita jigsaw, some birch plywood and still have money left over for the Subwoofer, lunch etc.

I would go with the GP Car Audio. They will literally build you any box you want. You have one sub? Sweet. You have 6 subs? Let's do it. Just give them your sub specs, and your space requirements, and they'll make it happen.

I built a box for my 3 SL7 15s out of 1 inch Russian Baltic birch and I can tell you it's beastly.. no flex... Hits crazy highly recommend it is verrrry expensive wood tho

In free air, these have a lot of aerodynamic noise (presumably because of their cooling and that aluminum piece on the top of the pole to cause turbulence and act as a shorting ring). Does it sound clean/low distortion in the box. Older L7s I’ve heard always sounded really bad from a sound quality perspective.

Most of the popular brand prefab boxes I've come across in last 30 years seem to always break on seams because they use a thick almost caulk type glue that doesn't soak into MDF.....and fails...maybe thats just me

I use to think like you but you have to put yourself in his shoes. He's probably getting stacks on stacks on orders. High prices slows it down and reinvest in new and better technology like He's been doing. Your also supporting him by paying that price. Kicker has been in business since 1973 and this is only the second coming of a true SPL sub from them. We should all be excited. They are providing some samples for review but I don’t need another subwoofer so I don’t see this as payment. I’m making this content since it’s getting a lot of interest

It’s arguably the most anticipated woofer in the last idk 5 years. It’s just a matter of everyone is getting them now, excited, and posting content. Some are likely paid something. But many are not. I’ve seen plenty of normal bass heads or installers just happy to get them. Heck, I don’t think Gately is a kicker dealer and definitely not a fan boy but he whipped up those gorgeous Boxes right away.

@Andrew Connor if I was making a living building boxes I would as well. Lol my very first subs were some 15 inch competition kickers with a linear power 5002 on them in the late 80s. I'm familiar with them since I've owned Several. I was watching a video from Sundown and they were displaying them. I'm wondering if JL audio is going to do so as well. I looking at this youtube video of them saying what other sub can you buy that's $700 and handles 2000rms. I was thinking there are a ton of em out there that can for that amount of money or less.
