Started with the Cobra pliers and now I have a bunch of Knipex tools. The quality and usability of their tools are outstanding. Expensive but worth it. Thanks for sharing!

You're absolutely right that Cobras are just so self-explanatory that they're just out of the question: a must. But for me the CoBolt is also among that most grabbed range, particularly the 160mm small ones.

Both my big tool bag and my small quick job bag are both full of Knipex tools. Like you, I never start any project without multiple sizes of Pliers Wrench on hand.

Knipex really is such a great company. Extremely well made and reasonably priced.

Absolutely, they are great! The regular basic pliers in different styles can be had for about 22,50 - 25 € in my neck of the woods, even the insulated ones and at least the comfort grip ones, the dip handle ones are often even cheaper than that. 25 € for a good set of pliers is already good. But 25 € for such great (quality) pliers? That is borderline amazing.

They are only made in Germany. Here the prices are even lower.

No1: Cobra. No2: General use pliers or Linesman pliers. No3: Cobolt cutters. No4: Pliers Wrench. No5: Electritians Scissors. they are one of the best solutions for cutting zip ties.If anybody has a better one, please share! I do cut a lot of zip ties!!

I do prefer flush side cutters for the zip ties, most scissors leave a sharp plastic "tail" on the zip tie that can cut you

If U want to know what I think are THE best for zip ties, they cut the lowest. It wouldn't be the Tsunoda TH-150nc that has the retaining feature that holds onto the excess zip tie instead of it flying off, these are ok and highly recommended. I have those but a better sharper smoother design is the Three Peaks FPN-150fs, that's a 6" model, they also make a 7" & 8" which is also great. I've got Knipex, Tsunoda and a good few more & nothing compares to the 3Peaks.

Klein makes a nice and cheap little pair of flush cutters that are made in USA for like $12-$15, I love my pair. Harbor freight has a similar pair for like $9 if you prefer cost over name/place of origin

Fujiya FPN-150FS flush cut for not getting anybody cut up over gagged leftovers and the rounded head makes it easy not to cut other things you don’t want to cut. Way sharper so watch those digits.

@@VictorGarciaRHey Victor, one easy way around the sharp edge on zip ties when you are installing them is to leave a tail and then grab the tail with the end of your lineman pliers and rotate the pliers clockwise or counterclockwise until it shears off without leaving a sharp end to bite you later. A little more time but the result is worth it.

Big fan of the Cuttex. I bought the fiskars snap-off knife when it first came out. I was a big fan, but it has poor blade retention when I was cutting foam. I love how light the Knipex is. The handle is very sturdy and grippy.

Great list, and depending on the situation other tools are needed. The cobra pliers are on my list too, the most universal tools, and the twingrips. The cobolt bolt cutters are on the list too. The cutix utility knife is one of my favorites. And the needle nose combination pliers 08 22 145, or the insulated ones 08 26 145.

Intersting to see the forged wire strippers back in favor over the electrical installation pliers.

#1 Knipex tool in my opinion is the 86 43 250 angled plier wrench (discontinued), such a great design. Also waiting for your review on the 100 tooth Snap on ratchet. Thank you for all your daily videos, watching here from Montreal Canada.

I would change Twingrip to either Ergostrip or Bix. It depends on work type of course.

Have you ever used the Knipex 86-43-250? They’re the pliers wrench but with a 15 degree offset. They seem to be out of stock everywhere and have been for awhile. Wondering if they’re discontinued.

Hmmm, tough one. How about the five where you don’t grab knipex? Lineman, needle nose, locking pliers …. That’s all I got. 😂
