I just got home from a trip to Greece. The island of Crete is very nice as well. The city Chania or in Greek “Xania” has lovely beaches, snorkeling, great food, a nice old town, and isn’t extremely touristy unlike Santorini.
Thank you very much for the beautiful presentation! Efxaristo poli! The list of underrated islands in Greece is big...Trust me...Greece is not only Mykonos and Santorini...And also it's not expensive.....You should check out also Samothraki, Ikaria, Nisiros and Thasos as other top destinations!
As a Greek I highly recommend the tiny islands of Chalki and Kastelorizo! Pserimos, Nisyros, Kasos, Karpathos are also amazing! You should definitely explore Dodecanese!
As a Greek i have to say that islands of the aegean sea such as santorini are more famous for their landscapes and architecture. On the other side i believe that Ionian islands have more beautiful beaches with crystal waters but also rich flora. In my opinion Corfu is my favorite island but dont forget to visit Paxos and Antipaxos. In Antipaxos island beach "Voutoumi" has the clearest water that i have ever seen in my entire life !

I have never been to Greece, even though I was born in nearby Albania; but then we moved to the US and now Greece feels so far. But I see it's a very nice place.

All the islands that you recomend are beautiful but overcrowed the summer period. As a Greek i recomend you the follow island: Paxos & Antipaxos : small islands with amazing crystal waters Samothraki: Μountainous island with a lot small waterfalls and lakes Creta: beaches, people, food and history Also Lemnos, Ikaria, Nisiros and Chalki are amazing!
I have not heard of any of the five islands you have mentioned. They look amazing! I think it would be cool to visit any of the islands which tend to get less traveled. Awesome video!
In Kefalonia there are also the biggest sea turtle nesting beaches in ionian sea, meaning that if you come and visit the island in august or September you will be able to see hatchlings coming out of their nests 🐢🐢😁

About...WOW fifteen years ago lol, I went to Zakynthos. Zante actually, with my then girlfriend. I can honestly say that that trip is what started this obsession with travel of mine
I actually recommend staying in Imerovigli if you go to Santorini! It’s a a lot less packed than Fira but still in walking distance to all the activities. It was a wonderful place to stay.
Mykonos Beach is incredibly packed with tourists and is impossible to find parking - you will park somewhere up the zigzag road and have to walk the 1/4 mile downhill then back up hill to your spot. The beach is also incredibly rocky with big round white pebbles and can be hard to find a great old spot. This beach is incredibly rough 99.9 percent of the time, the water is very cloudy and you can rarely see through to the bottom. Also - this beach gets deep, FAST. You can only stand the first few feet when you walk in and then you will fall off the bank and be in 10ft water immediately and getting MUCH deeper by the time you reach the buoy. . While this is a photogenic beach - us locals do not go there. It is full of tourists from the other islands (Greeks) and is very rough and crowded. As a local I would recommend driving to a lesser known location as the waters tend to be much more shallow and clear and calm and empty. You will be happier going to a hidden spot than beaching yourself at this popular location
It's absolutely impossible to make a top 5 or 10 most beautiful islands of Greece. First of all Lexie is doing a good job in trying to point out 5 gorgeous Greek islands. She did great actually. However. She knows as well that she has not enough knowledge of all the islands in Greece. And it is a more difficult topic if you truly take all islands into consideration. But the thing is. She hasn't visited 99% of the islands. Every Greek island is gorgeous and many Greek islands could give you an equal or better experience than the islands in this list. Crete could easily be in the list as it has so much that it is called the small continent. It is actually a must to be put in the top 5, no matter what top 5 top 10 top 40 or more of Greek islands. but yes it's a good list. If you never went to Greece or did go to Greece and didn't visit these islands. You will utterly love any of the islands here in the list. But if people randomly end up on Thassos, Kastelorizo, Symi, Chios, Astypalia, Syros, Lefkada, Hydra, Skopelos, Evia, Ithaca, Folegandros, Serifos, Kythera, Spetses and countless more. anyone who stumble on getting to these and many more islands they would have 10/10 gorgeous stories and experiences about it to share.
@@christineperez7562 Yes, there are 227 inhabited islands and it's a quick fact if you want to be a video maker. However. You should know there are 10.000 videos exactly like these and I know that from most they know near nothing about Greece. You can even see what islands they visited and they visit Zakynthos, Santorini, Paros, Mykonos, Crete, and some other islands. And THEN the video comes: The best islands of Greece. Really? Have they seen atleast 30 other islands? No. And that is the point I am making. Nonetheless these islands are incredible. But. Im sure that if there are 50 people who each visited 50 Greek islands, then every ranking would not only be different, but VERY different not just alternating between 10 islands in the top rankings, but between a much larger pool of islands in Greece with names most people would not have heard of. Like Milos. Today received many top world rankings, but before 2015 nowhere to be heard of. Now it does. Still not the name of Mykonos or anything, but it's fame has grown tremendously since 2015-2017. Let people go to the many other incredible islands and then rank. Instead of TOP 5! (out of 5 islands they visited). TOP 10 (out of 10 islands they visited). It's misleading at the very least. Write top 10 of the more famous islands. And top 10 of unknown Greek islands or something
Milos is maybe the most popular island among Greeks so now it is very expensive. Also Paros is the Island every Greek student goes to every summer so pretty crowded too. Zakynthos or Zante is full of tourists and all the loud touristy clubs take away from the beauty of the island which to be honest is amazing. Regardless they are all amazing islands but don't be fooled thinking they are less crowded than Santorini ...
I want to go to those that are non-touristy. Was just in Greece and discovered a gorgeous village in the east, on the coast that is Instagram perfect. And NO tourists!
certainly some of the bigger ones like Rhodes or Corfu.. they don't feel so desolated like the smaller ones and you can enjoy everything (except swimming of course) the island has to offer.. I would also recommend Crete but Crete is too big and you would have to narrow your travels to certain places depending on the time you'll spend there
Did you find that Paros was very windy? Would like to visit but I don’t want to go there if the wind is too crazy! I’ve been to Ios and it wasn’t windy so I wonder why or if Paros would be?

Fluent is a bit exaggerated for a country that doesn't have English as a mother tongue. But yes we speak English, especially young people and people working on tourism so hotels, boats, restaurants etc
You can have a Cheaper Vacation in south of France than those over crowded and over priced Islands. You don't have to sell one of your Kidneys to have a Vacation. Someone just paid $600 USD for a dozen oysters and 4 drinks and it was a Shitty place too. They will not advertise the prices so don't be an idiot. Ask how much everything is before ordering.
You clearly have never been to Greece or anywhere hat isn’t a tourist trap. We don’t even really do oysters in Greece. We do gavros. We do fish. We do lamb. Oysters is not a thing we do. you must have fallen into a tourist trap.
