Technique for wheelies on KX500: 1st gear: open throttle, lean back slightly 2nd gear: open throttle, lean back slightly 3rd gear: open throttle, lean back slightly 4th gear: open throttle, lean back slightly 5th gear: open throttle, lean back slightly
I just gotten to the point of dank mini wheelies, it is less scary than I expected. I haven't gotten to balance point yet. That will probably be the scary part. I will be able to do it some day 💯🔥 probably...🙄
@@brytodunsm5713 I haven't got any further than mini wheelies. I stopped training. Mostly because I don't have a good place to train where there are no Karen's. And I don't ride that much either. If the weather is bad I don't enjoy riding as much.. So basically no progress :/
I think u guys helped me a lot with these vids on my wheelies! Thank you! I did learn i guess wrong tho lol instead of learning the rear brake first I learned it after I could wheelie lol barely learning it now and ya but if I learned it first I wouldn’t have crashed my bike like I did in my wheelie video!😂😂😂
well i guess i have to give the rear break a try. i learned how to wheelie without rear break, i allways just used the engine break and for me it works. but ok, i had to run behind the bike a view times, but never jumped of or crashed. nice videos. love them :-)
I own a yz85 and the way I learned how to wheelie is by going in first gear and hitting the powerband and and bring it up and then shifting into 2 and keep on going from there and maybe shift into 3 it’s been the best way for me because I can’t get the bike up by using the clutch because yz85 don’t have much Bottom end powerband and I sit all the back in the seat and it still don’t work so any one that owns a yz85 this is what I learned was the easiest for me
I’ve got a yzf450 and here’s how I wheelie in all gears 1st: 1/2 throttle 2nd: 1/2 throttle 3rd: 3/4 throttle lean back slightly 4th: slow down and Franck throttle no leaning or clutch work 5th: sit as far back as possible pin the throttle Power everywhere
Moto -2TEN Yeah I get that and ive owned many MX's. There's nothing like a YZ250 or KTM250/300. Ive had a yzf450 and it was a really good bike obviously. But It definitely made trail riding a lot easier with the tractor like torque, you can be lazy basically. Between the overall weight and center of gravity being higher i guess, i just cant get the same fun out of riding say a yzf250/450 as i do with a good 2 stroke... Even a YZ125 is a fun bike to ride hard. Im 200lbs and that bike has plenty of power for any hill or jump, if rode right. There's just something really fun about that. Anyways back to your point, yeah yzf450 is a wheelie machine lol
Best mx channel on RU-vid. Actually surprised you guys only have 100k subs. Watch your videos everyday they’re awesome 🤙🏼🤙🏼 c’mon guys let’s get this channel growing.
I’ll have a think and get back to you guys, I do have a question though with regards to wheelying. do you always use the clutch up technique or do you alter from power wheelying too? And which would you say is better and why? Obviously the bigger engine in the bike the easier it is to do a power wheely but in general which would you choose?
I also have trouble with cornering as well. Not sure where to sit depending on the corner if should weight the front or rear tyre. So maybe a video on cornering mistakes?
I was taught to let your legs dangle to steady yourself in case the bike starts to go over. WRONG! Lol. The rear brake technique just makes more sense. No wonder I kept wiping out! Thanks for the tips brother.
On a slide uphill for the beginning is Ok to have the legs tangle. You find tutorials they show that. Next step of course is rearbreak kontrol. But everybody has to find his way. I am still working on it and not that good I aim on. Slow wheely is such a nice skill.
Hi mate, thank for share your video how to do the wheelie, i have try so many times but its failed. but i need your help how to get the swing arm for KTM 250 cc if an the second hand
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, the best channel I found on the internet Congratulations 🔄⭐🇧🇷🔝 Could you teach a 250x wheelie cram tip?
G'Day MX Factory from Australia. My son and I love your vids thanks. :) My issue with slow wheelies is that i fall to the side. I don't have an issue keeping the balance point, but have to bring the front down very quickly otherwise i'll end up on my side on the ground. I've heard that you need to balance with your hips (or something like that). This isn't so much of an issue if I'm going faster, but i don't have a lot of room for that where I ride. If you're able to make a vid explaining side to side balance while wheeling that'd be awesome. Thanks guys and keep up the good work. :)
Thanks for watching Ben! We love when dads and sons can learn together. Fortunately we already have a video on the side to side control, watch it and let us know if you have any other questions 👍🏼 How to Wheelie - Improve Side to Side Balance Control on a Dirt Bike!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aoAO2b2b6fc.html
You forgot a common mistake that threw me off. I first started to learn wheelies on a quad which is more forgiving when you turn the handlebars mid wheelie, or your weight not being perfectly aligned with the bike. The most common wheelie mistake I see is people falling off to one side or they land the front end back down without the handlebars being perfectly straight, causing them to speed wobble
Can u maybe explain how to get the Nike op with clutch, and i have a quastion do you need to use the clutch when u hit the rear Brake or Can u hit it without tje clutch?
I started riding wheelies on a 1979 xr185, could wheelie through all six gears... yes I said six . I've got a 82 xr500 , and a 2013 xr650.. I'm 55 and still riding wheelies. I love dirt bikes I hope I'm riding when I'm 80. Good luck younger guys keep on riding.
Great video bro. I wish I watched this before I went out and crashed learning how to do wheelies. Had 4 surgeries on my leg already and metal plates inserted. Cant walk for 6 months. Not fun. That's #bikelife for you haha
Yeah thx your channel is too underated it should have more subs i am subbed and have notifacations on like you guys taught me how to Scrub Whip Jump Brake tap Corners Wheelie Send it dude keep up the good vids
Hey um I was wondering is it possible to use the clutch instead of the rear break because I am thinking of getting a dirt bike but I don’t quite trust the rear brake yet from past experiences.
i was self taught i owned a 3 wheeler honda 200x and when i brought the front wheel up it would not flip all the way over because the bar behind the seat would drag and keep you in a constant wheele over time i got full control of useing back brake and now many years later on all my bikes cr250,xl600 crf250 even my trail50 i have never flip any of my bikes. get to know rear brake control get that down and wheeles for miles
I have a question you might not answer but plzz I want to learn how to wheelie a crf250l and the tiers are like street tires but I don’t want to learn in the street I want to learn in the grass do you have any suggest we’re I can learn instead of strret
um so I was wondering what gear would I do it in I have a yz 85 2 stroke and it has powerband I can just lean back and let it hit power band and the front end will pop up. or should I do it in second and do the pop the clutch
"... Pretty obvious to use your front break" haha as a beginner I have had a lot of compliments on that one. My guys are fast! So control of your front and backs is a talent tho and experience is priceless! Love it 💙💙💙🙌🙌🙌 I know you're so much older now, come to High Point again tho
I don’t have a bike anymore but I never had to pop the clutch or try very hard at all to get the front wheel on my crf250r to come up in top gear and then just ride out as long as I wanted , also never seemed to need to touch the breaks to stay in the balance point. I suppose this might be more difficult at lower speeds
I got a 85cc 2 stroke. Tried power wheelie, first gear in low rpm and then full throttle high rpm, didn't get up. Then I got this trick: give slowly more throttle and when it starts to pull hard, let throttle go. That pushes the front suspension down, and then full throttle. The suspension power up + full throttle was enough to get the wheel in the air. I also tried clutch-ups in second gear when timing good I got up as well. In both cases I sat far at the back. Just keep trying and give enough throttle.
Man my 98 yz 125 doesn’t seam to have the power to pull up. It’s totally been rebuilt with big bore kit new header, chain, sprockets. I don’t understand. Iv sunk a lot of my savings to build this bike. Maybe airflow adjustment? Need help. Sinking fast! Thanks great content!
but i have a problem when im wheelie my sx 125 when i come op using the clutch my enginene have not enough momentum så its just dying how can i wheelie slow if it does that. pls help me
Should i get a 250 four stroke for motocross? i’ve ridden a yz125 before and want to get into racing so i’m looking at 250 but heard they are high maintenance w
