Kirby, your London content is out of this world. Absolutely outstanding. You genuinely know more about the city than many who live there, and certainly produce more fascinating and informative videos than others. I hope you continue to produce London content as there is so much to cover! Private members clubs, ancient shops and wine merchants, historic bars, traditional pubs, and of course the clothing and tailoring scene. We welcome you back to the city at your earliest convenience. You are an honorary Londoner as far as I’m concerned!

I too have had the pleasure of dining at Rules, with their history and importance to details I was a bit disappointed in their spelling of whiskey, in reference to Scotch Whisky on their drinks menu, ie Macallan, etc. Scottish whisky or Irish/American Whiskey is the correct spelling. As a Gunn, you no doubt will know and agree. 😀

Good video however that is a pheasant and the hardest and most prized bird on the shoot is a woodcock. Ive only shot one so far due to their speed, small size and flight angles making them hard to hit

While the original Ivy may still hold its luster, the brand was sold and branched out as a vast amount of chain restaurants all over the UK a couple of years ago so the brand is not quite what it used to be. Simpson’s on the Strand has a very nice cocktail bar up the staircase so arrive early and enjoy an aperitif. Then check out all the historic chess memorabilia. It is part of the Savoy Hotel business and you can or used to be able to walk thru between the two. Just be careful which dining room you end up in. Young grouse may be consumed on 12 th August, but almost anything else needs to be hung for a week or more. Definitely agree with your no. 1. Before its refurb' Rule's waiters all wore different coloured jackets according to their function and the restaurant was cluttered with cook at table equipment and the walls covered with 19th C cartoons. I didn't see any Langostino lobster on the menu at Wilton's.

Two of my best dinners were at Simpsons and in a private room at Rules. Fantastic food, service... and great company.

Have you got the right Simpsons ? Simpsons Chop House in Balls Court, Cornhil dates back to 1757. Simpson's on the Strand is a relative newcomer.

The Simpsons you mention certainly is old! However I am correct in the Simpsons I was meaning. This one is the Simpsons that is famous for their Sunday roasts, and Sherlock Holmes. I think they were established in 1828, so I guess that is a newcomer compared to 1757!
