But, he usually comes in at a higher equity ask. Unfortunately, people will walk away over 5% without realizing the equity the inventor/biz owner does retain will likely explode in value. The sharks can make that original 10% the equivalent of 1000% in 12-18 months.
1) Steve is a techpreneur 2) He is blunt and doesn't mince words 3) He asks relevant questions and gives the required feedback The man deserves more respect
He's very candid. That can rub people the wrong way, but in business it really shouldn't. The people that tend to decline his offers are usually people who've recently entered the business scene, no matter how successful, so aren't as used to that attitude as others might be. I like his offers, to be honest he sort of reminds me of Peter Jones on Dragons' Den.
That's how I read the situation too. He was rooting for those guys, so he created a situation where Andrew ran the risk of being left out. (And if Andrew didn't bite, he'd still have a pretty solid investment for only half the risk)
@@alwaystmoza yes but if he was only about money he could make an offer every time and milk them to death, but he KNOWS a good deal and know where both parties benefit.
You know what I love about these Sharks vs the Sharks in the US and the UK? These AUS Sharks always smile and they're kind, friendly, and compassionate. The Sharks in the US and the UK always look like they have a bit of a god complex. They never smile. They are very often rude and they always give off a vibe as if they are elevated above the puny mortals who come to them for a deal.
are you kidding me? They just sound more polite when they insult each other with accents - do you ever listen to Steve? Andrew -" I would never dispute your net worth?" Wink, wink.. Said oh so politely.. you don't pick up on sarcasm Oh they insult each other all the time - you're just not catching it... But if you don't like it, don't watch the other shark tank. Problem solved.
@@TheFoolintherainn That's very insightful. Thanks for enlighening me. I appreciate your feedback immensely. Also... Try to relax. Why get so worked up over a comment by some stranger on the internet. Nevertheless, appreciate your perception. After all, perception is reality. I think my perception might be different to yours though. The UK and US Sharks should at least try and smile occasionally.
@@TheFoolintherainn the difference is is they’re insulting (really just joking with) each other, not the entrepreneurs. The US Sharks punch down quite a bit.
The sharks in Australia are definitely more humble than the sharks in the US and dragons in the UK, and I think that's a product of the culture. Australians hate stuck up plutocrats, so no one is going to tune in for a show every week to watch five people they hate act like they're better than everyone else. On the other hand the US loves it. They watched ten seasons of a show where Donald Trump spits "YOU'RE FIRED!" at people, they've got no concern with Sharks being rude and unnecessarily hostile.
i love when steve interferes into a deal thats on the fence just so that it will push it into a positive direction. prime example, that cancer app jumped in to push andrew and glenn to work together on it
It’s so super sweet of her that she gives away hundereds of the fairy dolls to sick kids in the hospital a couple times a year. She doesn’t have to do that once so ever yet she goes out of her way to do so in order to make sick dying kids wake up with a smile on theyre faces
Maybe she did, back in the day. But the business has apparently folded, and there were complaints flying around about not delivering the goods to customers.
I checked too, the one site I read all the way through had all one star reviews. Every single one said essentially the same thing. Paid money, never received items and were ghosted. There are apparently several companies selling the same product. Those are selling and have variations on the fairy theme. The idea wasn't patented, so the original got undercut. Put that with an assumed supply chain problem and everyone lost. It's a pity, the lady sounds like she had a real passion for the Fairy Door.
@@yeetyeetyeet7866 my word, an actual person! They do exist! Much respect to you for being genuine and sharing the warning signs. I wish you luck in your investments and I hope you don’t get screwed by these people trying to take advantage. Sounds like you know what you’re doing though. Keep warning other humans and shitting on bots! Anyways, shark tank Australia! 😅
I tell you, the fact that Steve seemed more upset that he forgot to ask "Where you from, mate?", than he was about losing the deal, makes me love him even more. 🤣
The Cancer Aid people answered all the questions with smooth answers and the right attitude. They knew what their real market is, they knew that their product wouldn't be taking money away from something else because their app is useful, and they even were in charge asking the sharks what their evaluations were. Amazing job!
@Gareth Tucker well, in that security case, even the government cyber security have their own weakness to hack. system informations always have a crack never be perfect, what the IT need to do is how to mitigate the loss when the hack happened, or try to improve and maintenance the security to avoid hack hapenned.
Looks like Steve was right on the cancer app , they just closed a second round of funding at an evaluation of 4.25 million. So they have already been diluted and it has a 3.7 on play store.
@@SamuelPfleumerSami No, such apps and networks require a lot of maintenance and upgrades. At the very least they would need to hire people for that. It's overall much easier, cheaper, and better to buy this. As a general rule, people benefit in trade the most when they stick to areas of their expertise, and buy/outsource the rest.
@@stefanjud6345 thank you for the comment. I can imagine thats not completely cheap to build but if its really valued so high, what would stop a few good app developers to copy it and make a lot of money?
I think it's because they realize you can be an investor and not a douche at the same time. Wish the American counterparts learned that. Perhaps it is what most advertisement watchers in America like to see. Idk.
The cancer app is genius. Holy crap. Profitable, philanthropic, social media, helps older patients keep track and retain important medical information. Amazing idea
And how did they all do? Dessert Boxes - no info but going strong / Canceraid - 2021 value of $20m / Lil fairy door - no longer in business / Inappropriate Gifts - changed her mind after the show and rejected the 250k offer! / Sharknado - no mention of the sharks after the show, no info if the deal ever went through.
@@crystal_lord_7213 I cannot confirm exactly what happened but I do know there were alot of bad reviews for customer service and delivery times and it seems there were alot of copy cat businesses.
I have been binge watching back to back episodes for couple of days and I think Steve really cares about the entrepreneurs cause either he is giving them the deal they wanted or helping them convince other sharks to come to terms. Man I have seen it happening time and time
I think there’s a fine line between just making money and running a respectable business that people love and want to come back over and over again to use to products or services
Why is everyone so polite in Australia? Shark Tank in America is so different. Much more insults and people getting upset. Kind of makes me want to move to Australia if this is how kind people are to each other

The Inappropriate Gift Co should start a monthly subscription gift box for 3, 6 or 12 months. A T-shirt, coffee mug, a pen and notepad, calendar, magnet, etc in each box. I would LOVE to send a subscription as a gift!
The interest for the fairy doors coming from the US is all because of the cottagecore aesthetic, very marketable in my opinion. Also Naomi petting the shark is so funny 😂😂😭😭
I used to work for the last guy, Lynton, in Philadelphia doing sort-of the samething, but it was Halloween/Hockey stuff, not Sharknado. Same concept, the dude made a mint and it was a blast (for as long as it lasted)
I’ve seen a few comments about the Australian sharks being nicer. Australian culture is very much about fairness, giving back and staying humble. Australians don’t like any sort of classism and people with a lot of money are thought much better of if they are humble, stay in touch with their roots and treat their employees fairly. Australian audiences wouldn’t tune in to people with wealth and advantage talking down to people asking for help with their businesses.
It’s so crazy I did something like this with my daughter 15 years ago🙃 Now I'm thinking about my idea which is similar but quite different. I really am excited about building up my idea now! I know it isn’t a guaranteed success but like my Beautiful and Wise Mother would say There is enough room for everyone to be successful and reach the top!“ Meaning, there is enough people and money out there for every great idea and business venture! Just go for it - Look what happened to this creative Mom!❤️❤️ Congratualations Fairy Door Mom!!
Successful people don't become that way overnight. most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
Starting early is the best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority. I learnt from my last year's experience, i am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.
I come from germany and I like one thing on this Show. If someone makes e Deal, everybody have the respect and there all so nice to each other. It´s awesome. Big Probs to your kind of Shark Tank.
Thanks for your comment...have you Really taught about making money in crypto currencies just at your convenience just message my trade analyst to assist you , invest little and get huge returns just in days ....
Being Canadian I started watching Dragon's Den which is our version of Shark Tank. A few of our Dragons jumped ship to the American Shark Tank so I've been watching both. Then came across the Australia version of Shark Tank and must say I like it a lot more than the American version. It's more like the Canadian show in that the sharks are generally much nicer than their American counterparts. And I really like how after the person decides, the sharks will often stand up to shake their hands even if they weren't chosen.
The lady selling the inappropriate stuff and the investment being made. Probably didn’t think in 2019 a global pandemic would increase online shopping sales to $1.2 trillion dollars SO FAR, from $400 billion in 2019, THATS RIDICULOUS money, lol good shit lady
As a cancer patient, i would NEVER log my drugs and medical records on an app. Too many apps and computers have been hacked and records stolen and sold. I've had medical computer records stolen/hacked from 2 different medical clinics and 2 different health insurance companies. Besides the medical field and insurance compa ies are great at selling your info as well. I know. I was in the medical field for almost a half a century.
Personally tech means also efficiency and possibly better advertising and innovation in their gifts. They should have sought for a partnership with both Steve and Naomi. Steve could have helped them engineer some cool innovations for their gifts and then Naomi for the network. Also, they could tried for both Glen and Naomi to go into the pet industry as well which is blowing up. They should have thought more honestly.
Damn that first trio man. I never get how entrepreneurs can make so much money, a profitable bis, and still choose to give up 12% over 8% when all they need is some counseling
Sharknado hits the spot because you know you're going into something bad and that's the entire joke of the franchise. It knows it's bad and delivers on that promise by making fun of itself. It is also entertaining at the same time.
I find it interesting that the sharks don’t knuckle down into the applicants finances and patents etc like the Dragons do, the British version feels more genuine and competitive
6:22 They sold $2M+ in their first year and "The Finger" looks like my kindergarten Play-Doh project... Surely with all of their success they could have made it look a lil bit better...? 🤔
You see how happy Naomi got to be on glens team? She even said it “his stocks advice and team”. Naomi still learning how to secure the bag with stocks and now she has a reason to fish it out of glen.
I hate that in that last episode Steve says yes after saying he could get backlash and the guy just keeps his back to him during the whole thank you process. Steve's a favorite for sure

That's because you never had to deal with her company lol. There is a reason her business failed and other brands for fairy doors took their market share.
Trouble also is, you don’t want a business to grow TOO quickly. If demand skyrockets too fast, you can have problems anywhere from logistical issues to not being able to handle an upper tax bracket, indecision paralysis, etc.
