Hey you Pokémon Collecting maniacs!! If you're in the market for some awesome Pokémon merch check out the BRAND NEW WEBSITE PIKAPIKAPAPA.COM! This is just the beginning too as we have lots of new stuff coming soon. Thank you for the support and have an awesome one!
I bought 24 of the Kangaskhan GX boxes from Walmart when they popped up in stock online towards the end of 2020 for only about $15 each. Still stashing those bad boys in my closet. Love those boxes!
@@IneptCardCollector Thank you! Probably the last real good online buy I had from one of the big box retailers before the bots and scalpers took over around that time. I still remember some time in 2020 where Target dropped Burning Shadows ETBs online at MSRP and this was before they started imposing limits. I could have bought up to 99 (must have had some massive re-print around that time) but ended up just buying a few. LOL
You got it wrong first print run glaceon vstar box have 1 chilling reign 2 evolving skies 2 fusion strike. 2nd print run have 1 vivid voltage 2 rebel clash 2 fusion strike
Oh man!!! I'm one of those measure twice and cut once dudes too... darn it!!! Appreciate the call out and that makes total sense why the European ones had 2 ES and 2 FS..... well crud LOL
I think the Hisuian Zoroark Premium Collection is another one to mention. Evolving Skies, Astral, 2X Lost Origin, Chilling Reign, and Fusion Strike. Can be found for around $40 right now
heavy hitters was just TOO BIG. I broke them down into packs when they dropped to 20-30 buck to sell at trade shows. Cant go wrong with ~$2 per pack cost basis
Such a smart move on the break and sell!!! There are some awesome packs in there too so you made out like a bandit no doubt!! Awesome moves my friend!!
@@GhostTrainConductor1989 the ones I've seen don't have Team Up for that price. They've got 2 S&S Darkness Ablaze packs, 1 S&M Burning Shadows pack, 1 S&M Crimson Invasion pack, 1 S&S Base pack, and the last pack is 1 X&Y Evolutions pack.
It's interesting because I hear that a lot about various products and as a data guy I always try and validate. So then I go to EBay and I see that multiple have sold over the last few weeks. Makes me wonder what defines "liquid"? 1 a week, 2 a week, #sold vs number of listings, %sold for vs "market price"? I think it would be a really fun and cool exercise to try and understand that!!
Nah. If you're into investing in this hobby, these types of boxes are the wrong way to go. The name of the game is to be able to sell your assets whenever you want to. In 2028 or whatever, nobody is going to be searching for a Mega Tyranitar EX collection box. The SEO results of these boxes is awful compared to booster boxes and elite trainer boxes.
It's a great point and I say the same thing in the vid description. If there's nobody to buy gains mean nothing. I will say it's interesting because I hear that a lot about various products and as a data guy I always try and validate. So then I go to EBay and I see that multiple have sold over the last few weeks. Makes me wonder what defines "liquid"? 1 a week, 2 a week, #sold vs number of listings, % $$ sold for vs "market price"? I think it would be a really fun and cool exercise to try and understand that!! EBay data is likely the way to go to understand search volume. Really cool and thought provoking comment. I'm gonna dig in and I really appreciate it!!
@@PikaPikaPapa I don't disagree. I have a few Shining Legends Premium Collection Boxes listed on ebay that I've listed over the past year, and while it generates views and follows, I seldom receive an offer unless it's really low. In my opinion, serious "investors" in this hobby don't hold super old sets. A Holon Phantom booster box is listed for $40k right now on ebay, but the last time one sold was May 10th at $26k. Let's say there is a buy opportunity somewhere, and you want that $26k. Good luck selling that. You're completely at the mercy of running by that one person with that one interest with the large enough wallet to make the purchase. I will say that this type of holding is fine for some people, because not everybody wants to sell 30 booster boxes in order to realize gains. Holding off on that one lucky sale is completely passive, so this is not a hard fast rule. But unless passive tcg investing is your game, I don't think it's super wise to be holding items that will have a hard time selling.
