That's the longest top 5 video I've seen and THANK GOD this is not just a regular top 5 video, with only 5 mainstream jrpgs. I just bought a new PSP and I was looking for some RPG games I've never played. Thanks, that's one of the best reccomendation videos I've ever seen.
I appreciate the format, peppering your top 5 with groups of honorable mentions throughout. Also nice to see someone giving some of these gems a fair shake!
I beat ff7 on ps1 at age of 21. holy cow, I barely spoke/ understood English at time. And there were no guides nor RU-vid back then. Final boss was like 80k. and something hp's, if I'm not mistaken. Killed from 2nd try, I remember my 💓 was pounding at 200/ minute while battling) oh memories..
Great recommendations as always, man. Been playing Ys Chronicles 1&2 on my Vita (originally on PSP) and it is amazing. I really recommend it to everyone that may read this. I'm a musician and its one of (if not ) my favorite soundtracks in an RPG along with Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy vi, Suikoden, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, etc You even have 3 options for every single song. Basically from basic Midi to real band and instruments; all o them worth a listen. The combat is fantastic after you get used to it. Its length is just appropriate. It's difficult (except a couple of battles) is just fine. It is so good, I recommend it to everyone. I also recommend Alundra!!
MusicRed yea man, I am a guitar player as well...check out threeasone music page on Facebook if you get a free minute...acoustic music with a buddy of mine on rhythm guitar, i play lead and his wife sings.
Wow, had 3 versions of psp, but was never into jrpgs, + did not knew English as a kid, seems like I've missed a lot of great games. Thx for the provided list, will definitely check out some of the entries in the future.
I was about to head to bed as well then I saw a new vid up. Great picks for the PSP and I have a few of them myself time to increase my collection of RPG's. Keep up the great work you have been doing with your channel.
I never had a PSP. I finally got around to it because I wanted to try the versions of FFT, and Tactics Ogre on the system. I also got Jean D'Arc and Wild Arms xf
Ys 6 the ark of napishtim still remains one of my fav RPGs on the psp. Also, tales of the world: radiant mythology and FFTwotl. Psp has so many great games. The nostalgia is very real. Great times!
I wish they would release more of these games on the Vita. the PSP is my favorite handheld by far. there was just so many awesome games and even games we didn't get here were awesome as well.
What a wonderful video!! Only Games of war could do it!! I would suggest you trying also Untold legends, Phantasy Star portable 1 and 2, and D&D Tactics!! All amazing rpg games! Carry on this way!! GOW Rules!!!
You brought back memories, thank you sir you hit the nostalgia spot real good, I had most of those games and they were awesome, great video can't wait for the Xbox originals buyers guide it should be epic.
A little tip to you, when recording on games, do not be so far from the camera, we can not even read the title on the cover, especially those who wear glasses like me
So cool video. I have 3 PS Vitas, but no one PSP. And it is so interesting to listen about this console and games on it. So cool-looking RPG's. Jean D'Ark - the best! Thank you for this video!
I imported the PSP Lunar and I thought it was great. An interesting fact is that in the UK we only got the digital PSP version and we did not get Lunar on Mega CD or PS1.
That's a great list. My PSP battery blew up but thankfully a good chunk of these games are available to play digitally through the Vita. Ys games are awesome, thinking of playing Origins for the PS4 next.
Как же долго я искал твоего обзорчика на RPG и JRPG игры на платфору psp ) Закачано 65 gb , потрачено кучу времени и все в пустую ... В основном находишь какие-нибудь заезженные игры ( в топах) которые не по разу проходил
Of course the PSP has an amazing RPG Library!!! There's no way that those games can be represented adequately!!! You need to be fully invested in the portable gaming market in order to be relevant! Great recommendations! Great video and keep up the good work!!!
not realy much to comment on stuff but i want to give you and your channel 2 thumbs up iv been watching your stuff from the start and each and every time you surprise me the quality of your video's is all ways improving the subject matter is great keep up the great work dude
Just dug my psp out but only get 3 games left for it and they are r.p.g.s and you showed 2 on this video ( the legend of heroes and tales of eternia) the other game is(untold legends the warriors code ) .I'm new to your channel but I love it cos I'm a massive fan of r.p.g games ,
Excellent choices man! Our lists are very similar. Jeanne D'ark would squeeze it's way into the list long with, a couple of the Sting games, FFIV Complete, and probably either Lunar or one of the Ys games. Makes me think of how we were supposed to get Grand Knight Kingdom, but the translation fell through...
i been watching alot of your videos =p i got to say i love it. Mainly because we have alot of similar tastes. X) glad to see more RPG Collectors out their on youtube. =) P.S. Jelly of your Fire Emblem Collector Edition in background.... T.T my got canceled.
I had the District Manager of Gamestop Apologizing to me, because i never got the warning, never got the phone call i was suppose to get that my order was canceled, case it wasnt when i got their. I went on Gamestop's Rewards program it still said it was valid. If i knew it was canceled i had people that could had hooked me up to get a copy.
i really want to get PSP but i'm confused with the models so which one you recommend to me the 1000, 2000 or 3000? also good job man another good video keep it up!
Get a PSP 3000 or 2000. I've got PSP 1000 But it has 32MB Ram so it's slow when in comes to heavy games suc has GoW. Ect, just don't get a PSP 1000, Go or E-1000.
I can't believe people still think Tornado cheated in the Robot Wars 6th wars grand finale in there battle against Razer with the frame stopping them from going into the pit the judges stated that that was completly allowed as it was a new and innovative design and it didn't breach the Robot Wars rules in any way.
Of cause it's not nearly as big as a scandal as in the next Robot Wars series series 7 Storm 2 (a pushbot) was treated horribly by the producers as they didn't want Storm 2 to win because it didn't have a weapon and the producers deemed him 'not exciting enough' they attempted to do everything they could to stop him from winning the title including giving his opponents more time to fix there robots and freeing other robots when they got stuck which unless the robot got stuck accidently the house robots are not allowed to interfere. They even misinformed the judges which led to that controversial judges descion in the grand finale where Storm 2 lost to Typhoon 2 despite Storm 2 doing most of the damage. Luckily in the rebooted Robot Wars these things don't happen anymore.
Weird counting system, with the video's name being "Top 5 PSP RPGS," and around 27 games mentioned (with around 8 as "honorable mentions"). So, somehow five equals thirty-five (or twenty-seven). Numbers five and four have two games listed each. The list, relative to the video's title, doesn't make a ton of sense, apart from being a generalized overview of PSP RPGs. Video chapters would have been great, except that some games are only discussed for a few seconds. Finally, a script would have trimmed the video to a more watchable length (ten minutes or so). Otherwise, nice collection of games.
little upset to see lunar at number one as a fan i feel a like they took advantage with that release. It's been a little while sense ive played it but i remember the first dungeon being super short i believe it was 3 screens to get to the white dragon and all the other areas were the same way, they took alot of short cuts in level design.the way it looks and the battle system were very polished tho. on a side note,no legend of heroes trails in the sky that was a very good game
zidane4571 Lunar is my favorite game of all time..I have played and finished the sega CD originals.. So trust me, I found the PS1 versions not true to the originals. I've had time to get over it, PSP is better then the PS1 version, that's a fact
Rivera underrated, ZHP unloosing ranger underrated, Final Fantasy Type 0 underrated dont play tactics ogre without the one vision patch, with it it shits on FFtactics
I love the PSP but I still think it was an underrated handheld. All the hype goes to the DS which is a nice but lacks the power and diversity (to me). All in all the PSP is still my favorite handheld to date
Rei Perkins oh man, no one can deny the epic-ness of the PSP when it comes to RPGS...the better screen and more power, to me make it the best handheld of the previous generation... Les just hope the Vita/3DS are not the last of the dedicate handhelds:(
just my opinion. first of all I love your videos I have bought alot of games based on your recommendations. as much as I try to give RPG's a try I just don't have the patience or the the time to play these games. most of the games are based on sitting there and read a story I mean I don't even get sores on my fingers because all I do is walk around, read, and press the button a couple of times during battle whatever happened to all the hack and slash and finish the game in a couple of hours I guess I'm just old school...lol just give me something with good visuals let me kick some ass and don't hold my hand in the process....lol guess I'm just getting old and bitter
Jin Kazama I friggin hope so, I have also heard rumors that Nintendo may release a switch "lite"...mainly ditching the dock and offering a machine that is strictly handheld. That would be cool I guess, make it a little less long, more portable.
Love Growlanser Series from ps2 to psp tough games but beautiful with wonderful characters I just had hoped for wayfarer to have at least japanese voice acting it would of helped with the immersion. Disgaea 2 is probably my most played game on psp with over 200 hours., and finally Persona 3 probably my favorite due to the story is so good lots of tears and humor.
Kyle Biedermann see bro, I can't get into Japanese voice acting..it completely takes me out of the game..I literally turn the voice off if there is no English dub.
I played crimson gem saga and didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling, the in game art was okay, i even liked the turn based battles but, i don't see that in even the top ten
Can you write the name of the games either on screen or in the discretion. Or, at least zoom the fucking in to the game covers. I didn't get most of the names the you were talking about.
I assume Lunar Legend on GBA would be the worst version. I remember the music being pretty bad there. Far cry from the amazing music in the original Sega CD game.
M Dunce Lunar legend was a real scaled down version, it also changed around the story quite a bit... A lot was trimmed down, but way back in the day I couldn't believe I was playing a handheld version of the game...easily the weakest of the ports.
i dont understand english very well. I want to know all tittles you mentioned in the video so I can search about each one. can you make a list of all games you spoke about?
ColdSkyClouds No Man's Sky is actually a decent game, the problem is that the developer at the beginning promised too much, or that's what I understood of the situation.
I'm a newcomer to the YS series and I started on memories of celceta on the ps vita since I have a ps vita. I have a question is the 3 YS games you showed in the video compatible with the ps vita? I have a psp but I rather play it on the ps vita
You might find them on the PlayStation store. As for grabbing a physical copy, the Vita does not have a UMD reader. So, you either have to buy a PSP or grab them on the PS Store.
