This features 5 of Randy Rhoads best solos. He is classically trained and has a clean, skillful way of shredding. It was tough for me to rank the top 5 Randy Rhoads solos, considering Randy Rhoads top solos are all so good. Randy Rhoads is one of the best shredders.

He was the greatest guitarists ive ever heard and i believe ranks extremely high compared with other classical guitarist, there wasn't anything he couldn't play, including shredding, Randy could shred, Randy is/was the only guitarist ive heard play the instrument like he was full on attacking it, even his play (ending to Mr.Crowley) he full on attacked the guitar, notes to the song just attacked it while seamlessly messing classical guitar with heavy and hard standard music and it sounded great, Eddie Van Halen was great but even he was no Randy Rhoades. GOD bless

When Randy said, I don't want to stop here, Still breaks my heart. I was 11 years old, when he passed away tragically. My Dad played keyboards for the Allman Brothers band at this time, and he's the one guitar idol my dad approved of, my dad told me that afternoon over a phone call that Randy died. I've never stopped dreaming of what could have been next for Randy.

I have others I love just as much but they were the ones who really started and elevated the whole Improv/jam scene. The Dead too. I love both and Jerry outshined most guitar players but Duane and Dickey were a force that was like a freight train running over anything in front of them.

Thanks for the great tribute to Randy. I've seen all the footage before but always appreciate new compilations. The big shame is that there's definitely more footage in the hands of people.. particularly full shows...that Sharon either owns or refuses to pay a fair price for. Especially the capital theater show which the owner has and can't release without Sharon giving him the green light and paying him for it which she's too greedy and cheap to do. The Capital theatre filmed every show in black and white yet the Ozzy show just happened to not get filmed? BS!! They released the part of the palladium show shot by a fan in the reissue of 30 years after the Blizzard and that guy got paid just $600. And no credit for his footage. She's the Lowest of the low. They wouldn't even let the director of the new Randy movie use much of his music with Ozz. He got no cooperation from them or Randy's siblings for some reason which he said was bizarre and made no sense. If the Osbourne family can't control or make millions of of anything released they just refuse to let anything out with Randy and that's a crime considering how little there is to see of him with Ozz. They could have gotten the Holy grail from Bob but refused to pay him a fair price and Cause of that we'll never see any of the home movies he has with Randy as well as all the recordings he has of their shows as well as them writing Blizzard and Diary. It's disgusting that Sharon is basically the keeper of Randy's legacy, memory and history for everything he did after Quiet Riot. No one deserves to be seen in a full show more than Randy!!!

I agree with all of that. There are shows that we're shot with Randy, that Sharon is holding onto. @@kenedie4646 Exactly. I usually say the same thing. They just happened to start filming when Brad joined the band? Total BS. Day on the Green always filmed every band too. You can see about 20 seconds of their set in the 30th or 40th anniversary release of the Blizzard album and DVD that was included. Utter BS that they don't have the whole set. Along with alot more. It's pathetic and sad that they don't give a crap about sharing everything they have with all of Randy's fans who would gladly pay for any concert release. They also completely wiped out all of Bob and lee's contributions to Blizzard. That's just as sad. They made no mention of them in the Blizzard Doc! No pics, not a word about them. Literally made it look like Rudy and Tommy were there from the beginning. The BS is so high above and around them that I'm surprised they can even breathe. But she's a witch and he's just like a puppy dog on a leash following her commands. All she cares about is $$$. If she can't make millions she won't do anything. In her twisted mind she probably thinks it would cost more to edit, produce, and release anything with Randy and wouldn't make enough money back. It's despicable.

Thanks for the reply. I got the $200 box when it came out, and it's great, but where are things that were promised, like the ENTIRE Tonight outro solo? There is a video shot by a pair of brothers, with no sound. The holy grail from Bob is another story. Peter Margolis tried to fuck him for that, and Bob said no way. I have Bob's book, and he details every way that Sharon fucked him. They could make incredible money, if they released the stuff they have with Randy. I don't know why they don't.....

This video is a great example of how Randy felt that the solo was an integral melodic part of the song and he wrote them to be a part of each piece of music, not as a place to diddle around and improv. He was really thoughtful about what was put down on the record in terms of his playing and I think that's part of why it holds up to this day. Again, thank you so much for this.

The best guitarist of his time & One of biggest inspirations off all time. The reason I picked up a Guitar. I can't even imagine what he would have Became after dieing at 25 years old. Such a shame. They say only the good die young? So do the greats!

I was at the Albuquerque show , Tingley Coliseum if I remember right , I was 14 years old an uncle of mine took me , sad thing was I was just discovering this music , it wasn’t until a year later I picked up a guitar and found out what a genius Randy was . I still have that ticket stub somewhere $12 to see Ozzy with Randy .

Tommy Aldridge said that he got his first glimpse of Randy's greatness when Randy and Ozzy showed up to one of Gary Moore's rehearsals. Randy and Gary supposedly jammed together for over an hour. Wish they had taped that! Tommy was Gary's drummer at the time.

He was one of short-lived talent,...pioneered heavy metal guitar riffs that showed the new way of playing heavy metal.

In a recent interview with Zakk Wylde he was asked if audience members always having their phones during shows shooting video ever annoyed him. He said no, and felt everybody experiences live shows their own way. Then he pointed out how little footage exists of Randy Rhodes live, and said if today’s video tech existed when he was a teen he would’ve absolutely been shooting video of Rhodes playing.

@@trance9158 I'd rather have Rudy. He's awesome to watch. He's got so much respect for Randy and loved him like a brother. He looks still looks damn good too.
