The manual is the reason I got the gt350, and I love it, BUT in your later years old knee injuries will remind you of their presence. Daily driving it especially in traffic won’t let you forget about said injuries. It has me considering trading it in for a gt500. If I could afford to keep it as a second car & weekend driver I wouldn’t hesitate.
#2 - the interior. 100% agree. I never understood gripes about muscle car interior being too cheap. You’re typically focused on the power train and the thrill in driving. If you want total luxury, there are vehicles focused on that. It’s all subjective but I loved the gen 2 Viper interior… and that was pretty spartan. It comes down to how the seats feel, the view of the gauges, and how well does the cockpit surround you. Beautiful car and great video!
I think its because aside from the carbon fiber, it's the same interior as the premium level trim for the Ecoboost. Plus compared to other 100kish dollar cars the interior does lack a bit. I'd rather have the gt500 but the interior on the c8 for example is way cooler.
The passenger is not pretending to live this car..the way he looked when the driver opened it up was not fake. The excitement of the driver is not fake either. Mustang is a different beast.
Gorgeous car, Ford knocked it out of the park with this car . This car is at home at a drag strip or a road coarse. Add a trunk and back seat for the young kids. This car is unmatched in any other automobile currently available .
Exactly why I got my ‘22. Absolutely love tracking it or just running errands in it! FYI, HE pkg was ~$2.5k (& that included vinyl stripes), $10k was the painted stripes option, $18k was for track pack. I went for classic Shelby blue w/white stripes & got it for $84k. It’s honestly a bargain for what you get!
Street legal rocket with a warranty 🤘 Great point about being able to start the car every time, owning several classics will make you really appreciate that fundamental feature 🥸 Great vid, thanks for posting
good points about the car. i think the complaint about the interior is because it can be a 6 figure car yet it doesn't feel like a BMW or Lexus. i do think the stereo is a bit old feeling. all that to say i love my GT500 and those DCT downshifts are eargasmic. great vid.
Thanks for the feedback! I can understand the interior complaint, but honestly it's nearly as nice as my 2020 R8 V10 performance was and that was nearly a $250k car. It's really all down to personal preference I guess. But I will say this, I've got a badass CF steering wheel that I thought came stock with the car, but apparently the previous owner installed it. It totally changed the feel of the car when driving it and looks beautiful! That's probably what's throwing me off 😂
I own a 23 Mach1 manual with the handling pack and it feels really special, the fun factor is through the roof. I can just imagine how incredible this beautiful GT500 would be to own and drive. Congrats, awesome car.
It’s great that you’ve had so many much higher end cars yet you still see the value in the GT500. Modern mustangs at all levels are slept on and usually looked down on by people with higher end cars. I think you should add a regular S550 GT to your lineup but add boost to it and go manual. You will again be surprised at how fun they are as well as overall good driving dynamics.
Thanks!! Yep, Miller is the man! I'm trying to not only have him film/edit but also have him appear more often on the channel. He's an awesome guy and has a lot to offer on screen as well. He's like a brother from another mother too 😂
What car you like more this gt500 or gt350r? I owe Mach 1 6 speed handling package right now.. can’t decide what should I go with.. I don’t have it… just fun weekend 2nd car
@@VINGIGGS I just found it lol thanks 👍 if you don't mind me asking, how much was it to build that awesome garage/Man cave/office ? I'm currently looking to build one myself and would appreciate any advice ! Thanks , Jeff BisCamp
First off, really enjoy your channel! Thanks for this vid,I'm currently into getting one of these and your video and points of view have been super helpful, specially from a guy with such an amazing ownership experience with all kind of exotics, classic and super cars.Your video pretty much sealed the deal, thanks again!
The fact that is a DCT is that what actually makes this Shelby so special. As far as I love manual (I do a have an M7 C7) i can't deny that the DCT are amazing, having DCT on my 488 GTB and my 570s, those are amazing to drive.
Really love how you pointed out how it's the best bang for your buck. This review of the GT500 has me thinking especially because ever since I subscribed to your channel the GT40 has been my goal. Although it always feels so far out of reach because its like more than twice the price of the GT500. To be honest if I could, I would copy your exact garage, it's got every bit fun i look forward to in maybe 10 - 15 years.
It's a great initial goal car because it's in reach, you nailed it! And remember, on my journey my first "goal" car was an e92 M3 back when they were about $40k used. Then I made my way up to a used 09 R8 for about $82.5k. and eventually kept setting bigger goals until I got where I am today. You've got this! Enjoy the journey and keep leveling up along the way, that's what it's all about.
That’s truly one of the nicest cars I’ve ever almost had a chance to drive.but it was gt.5.0 so I can only dream of what it would be like to have that.manual or not love it. And you said it. I wasn’t a mustang guy either I just didn’t like them but boy I love them know.
It boils down how the car feels to you, at your core. It's impossible to please everyone about you vehicle choice. Besides a manual gets old, real fast in stop and go traffic situation. I completely agree with the car transmission choice.
Magic in the Mustang. The special Mustangs, those that strive for all around performance.. aka track performance can shock people on just how good they are. Be it a Shelby or a Saleen or Steeda. Such versions that derive from real world racing DNA have all the things a normal mustang just doesn't have. Well.. that use to be the case for certain but today even the most basic of mustangs now far exceed performance limitations of the past. If you treat a mustang as you would a Ferrari then it conforms to that level of attention to quality. If you treat it like backyard trash then it will be just that. Mustangs are among the last road cars that conform to their owners. Most other makes enforce their identity upon their owners. With mustang you become one with the machine, it's flaws are actually what makes for its personality and soul. Mustangs are much like a horse for its cowboy owner. They really do give off a true living presence. And the best of them talk to you throughout. Forget about quality and anal nick backs because mustangs arent ment to be perfect, by design. Again it's their flaws that give them soul. And that soul is what even big dollar exotics lack.
Everything about it is definitely great, from power to how beautiful it is. Now let's talk about that interior, man.. at least they should come with some nice seats with like a big cobra embroidered on them or something, and those seatbelts.. what the f*ck man. This is definitely a car I'd buy if I had the money, I'd just change the seats and seatbelts to make it perfect.
I liked your video and it’s the first time I’m watching your content. But why the gt500 and not a demon? I have not watched your other videos so maybe you own one already?
Hey thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel! My entire collection is Shelbys/Ford's now. I have (2) GT40s, an 05 Ford GT, a Cobra MKiiiR, a Shelby Daytona Coupe, a '67 Shelby GT500, a F350... probably makes more sense now 🙂
Vinny, love channel since Shaun put you on map. We did everything right with the interior when we designed it. I totally agree with you on interior. Our Engineers did a great job on interior and history will say this is one of the most iconic Mustang Interiors.
you can say what ever you want , those seats are not comfortable for a daily for us bigger guys . Forcing uncomfort on yourself and your kids - Mid Life Crisis LOL , takes one to know one , grear car bro! We went with Dark Horse with regular ventilaed seats , we love it for our new daily
Thanks bud! I'm 5'11" 215 lbs and they're just right. But yeah, I couldnt fit in the back. Luckily my kids are 4 and 7 and sit in boosters so it still works great for them! 😂
Never been a Shelby or Ford guy. Corvettes and European Exotics are my weakness and fills my collection. My good friend has two Shelby's, they pack some punch. I just surprised my wife recently with a new 2023 C8 Z06 Corvette, and was she happy. It is sick! We have s 2019 C7 Z06 and not in the same class. We have McLaren's, Ferrari's, and Lambo's and the C8 Z06 is now in my opinion is an America exotic. As they say a blessed wife is a good thing! I sure love that women!!!❤❤❤
