I grew up visiting family in Champaign almost every weekend which is why I consider this my 2nd hometown. I can attest that this is a good place to live for the following reasons: Good fishing and lot’s of lakes, decent nature preserves nearby even though the land is mostly flat, the people are generally friendly, you get city benefits and yet the country is so nearby, the diversity of different people, and the education opportunities of course. I have this as my 1st choice as my place to live if I ever get out of the Army. My 2nd choice would be somewhere near Fort Riley, Kansas. Thank you @J Leman for making this video.

I grew up in Evansville IN. My parents are still there. Looking for a nice progressive midwest place to live. As in, not Evansville, IN. But closer than I am now. We already see a house we want. LOL. Now. How we gonna make it happen, ASAP?

The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Champaign is 1 in 45. Based on FBI crime data, Champaign is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Illinois, Champaign has a crime rate that is higher than 89% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes

Are you kidding? It’s probably the closest thing to living in hell. Investing in property is comparable to owning property in Decatur. Decatur has a much hospital with staff from much better schools than Parkland, the worst in the state. Through out the professional circle of my AIDS patient care, the care at Carle was described as unprofessional and down right hideous. Their case workers found my patients more suitable physicians in St Louis. I was there myself in March of 2019. I’m perfecting a case against them thru HHS. They neglected to give me the meds I took for a heart condition for 18 year and I had 4 cardiac arrests. I had a complete cardiac workout prior to my stay at Carle. I had 4 cardiac arrest due to their neglect and omission of meds. One of the doctors arranged for me to have a pacemaker. I didn’t need a pace maker. I just needed to get out of there so I could take care of myself. Their employees have take work place mobbing and bullying to include patients. The City of crime and I never allowed my children; to go to college in Champaign because it’s such a derelict city.
@@jleman2230 it was a really nightmare experience. They break major rules, violate state standards, and hopefully, HHS will investigate this matter thorough. There is evidence in my record that validates my allegations but I’m not at liberty to discuss the particulars of the the complaint.

@@Adribloom the other hospitals in the Champaign- Urbana areas are decent hospitals with dedicated professionals working in them who are not weak like Parkland students or the nurses from the second floor on day shift at Carle Hospital. I’ll never go back there ever again. I was just lucky to survive my stay at this quack hospital. I wish you lots of success with your professional goals. Hopefully, change will be made at Carle Hospital with HHS intervention.

This has to be satire. I just moved to Wisconsin from Champaign after being there for only a year. Horrible place! The crime such as shootings, car break ins, robbery, murders have multiplied because the police department as of a few months ago was short like 30 cops. I don’t know how many times I heard gunfire out of nowhere just sitting in my living room. The undesirable people are taking over. Reports of random people getting their cars shot at while driving down the road, someone who barely made it after being shot because he honked at someone because they almost hit him and they shot him in the head. A 9 year old in a car that got shot because they were caught in crossfire of people shooting at each other on the road. Champaign is absolutely disgusting. Burn the place to the ground.
Crime rate has dropped in half since covid restrictions were dropped. You should also know that every single state small town and large seen it dramatic increase in crime during the pandemic
As someone who was born here and lived here my whole life, don’t move here! I absolutely hate every day I’m here, and constantly afraid of being robbed.
