You fail to mention that these areas are surrounded by several of the higher crime areas in the region.

I lived in Shadyside for a year (before I got laid off) and I loved it. I probably gained many pounds from going to the Yards pub and 1947.

A driving tour would’ve been nice with the narration in the background as audio.

Well, they certainly are the most expensive areas.

We live in Regent Square commonality among these neighborhoods are there are basically just locals in the neighborhood. Not much for tourists, office workers, students etc. Not a lot of bars or clubs. They are mostly just expensive homes and expensive restaurants and shops. People are around a lot so it’s hard to do something without someone noticing. For example, the Strip, Downtown or Allegheny around the Stadium/Ballpark have tourists who are targets for thieves. South Side Flat have a lot of nightlife as does Oakland. In Regent Square, everything is closed by 10 pm and the streets are empty and in the daytime everyone is walking their dog or strolling their kid. But it is true that it borders Wilkinsburg which has a higher crime rate and more blight. And Point Breeze borders Homewood. And this list is obviously only Pittsburgh proper so places like Edgewood or Sewickley or Mt Lebanon are not on the list for Gen though they are as safe or safer.

In the late 1960’s Shadyside was the “hip” area of Pittsburgh where the rich hippies lived.

You forgot to say expecially. lol

But she did say "fill" instead of "feel" several times, and (my favorite) "assessable" instead of "accessible".

@@bobaldo2339 My favorites are expecially and Stillers. I like her a lot, and I keep in mind that P-burgh has 464 bridges. That's a lot of bridges. I also like to follow Skookle County near where I grew up. I once thought I would correct expecially, but fortunately, I realized it is her trademark, and a charming one. I have coined some terms of my own, like Demigarchs, Demigrants, and Bush-wah-zee.
