great recommendations!!!! And I'm so glad that you included lies of lock lamora, its incredible!! not so much in the world building but the characters are amazing. I have to say, I loved the first book more than the other two but I've seen many other opinions about them so you really should read them and see for yourself. These books are a journey!
Similarities between the series: Name of The Wind- lore, worldbuilding, vibe/atmosphere. Differences: prose Wheel of Time- history, worldbuilding, scope, complexity. Differences: Cosmere has more modern ideas and progressed fantasy elements First Law- character exploration, twists. Differences: plot complexity, clear moral boundaries, magical elements Light Bringer- magic system, action, plot twists, great villains. Differences: content pg 13 vs R, payoff Lies of Locke Lamora- character relationships, flashbacks, character development, humor. Differences: content specifically language, complexity
"So we all know that feeling, we just finished the last Brandon Sanderson book" You talk as if this is actually a possible thing that happens in real life lol. That guy can't even take a break without pulling 5 extra novels out of nowhere. But jokes aside, It really must be a feeling of emptiness to have no more Cosmere material to read.
Lol “one does not simply read all the Cosmere” It’s not bad being caught up on the Cosmere, because then you just start RE-reading it all and looking for more clues and details to come up with theories! Which is what I’m doing in 2023, RE-reading the whole Cosmere and doing some very deep dives into lore and mysteries 😁
@@ZachTaylorReads Cool, meanwhile I'm super early in my Cosmere journey, having only read the original Mistborn trilogy and being close to finish Warbreaker.
I just binged all the cosmere and i need a new series, I'm scared to start kingkiller chronicles, I'm hesitant to start a series from an author that doesn't like to write, After GRRM I can't handle another unfinished series. I'll wait until the 3rd book comes out. I'm thinking about starting the wot or the first law series
Both good choices, wot is great and the style is very similar to Sanderson, once you start it you’ll see that Jordan’s writing was a big influence on Sanderson, but be warned the first few books are not as good in my opinion, not a criticism of the books as much as a fact that authors hone their craft over time. The series as a whole is amazing. I’m finishing the first law right now and omg I can’t say enough good things about it. And the style is different enough from Sanderson that I haven’t been making comparisons in my head with the two unlike with wot. First law is an experience.
