Just wanted to say hello from the Philippines. I'm almost 60 y.o. already but still new in the Aquarium Hobby. Just proves to show that you can never be too old to learn new things. Not sure if you still have the contest/promo but I do hope I could win in your weekly Care Package.

Thank you Cory. My hobby has been restoring older cars. This past year with the shut down my Son and I decided to get a 20 Gallon and do a project together. Then we added a 37 g and because I research everything, I found you. You have been an inspiration for us and we enjoy your live and recorded "classes". I just received my first order of sponge filters for the, um 125g. I may be in trouble now I have 3 tanks, but we have successfully seasoned the tank, built a sump and a spray bar using ABS all from your classes. Anyway this is getting long so hello from Murrieta CA.

We have at least 2 (that probably came in on aquarium co-op plants)... we call them the speedies because they move so quickly (compared to the MTS); they have an air bubble in their shell and can float up and down like they are crawling through the water. We love watching them do their mollusk thing.

Nice to see the bamboo shrimp (we call them flower shrimp) on your list. I have one in my betta tank, and it's neat to see them extend their "nets" to capture food. One I would have put on the list is the mystery snail. They are so entertaining to watch them move on the most delicate plants. I don't know how they do it without bending the plants. They are also intrepid the way they let go and just fall to the bottom of the tank.
@Nickitopolis

I love my mysteries. They're so funny. My golden yellow zooms around the tank and the blue is a lazy baby. He's often annoying the golden, trying to mate her. Watching her try to fight him off is so funny.

Pond snails are the best ! I got them in my aquarium on day 1 and never had regrets. People calling them pests did not take time to observe them long enough. Under the light they display a wide variety of colored stripes. White, yellow, rust, beige orange and all the existing hues of brown. Some have metallic shades like bronze, copper and gold. Each individual is different from the other. They grow fast but also live very fast so you will be under the impression that there are too much from time to time, that's because they have hatched at the same time. One or two weeks after you'll wonder where they're all gone. They only reproduce if there are enough food so you will lnow by their numbers if your tank is dirthy and maybe stop feeding so much. Their eggs and youngs are live food for your fish keeping them healthy and colored. In turn this has a beneficial effect over snails overpopulating since only the lucky will grow fast enough to not be eaten. They are tireless workers, eating all sorts of algaes, fish poop and debris 24/7 you're most guaranteed to have a very low maintenance aquarium with them inside. Their birespiratory system is also usefull to know if your water is oxigenated enough. If it isn't you will see them often float to the surface to get air. They will never hurt live plants working around them and cleaning them with delicacy and attention to detail. They're the best thing I've done to my aquarium(s).

My two bamboo somehow escaped from my tank and I assumed they were gone for good. So about four days or more after the great escape my cat caught one of them on the floor. It was dusty as hell but still alive and I tossed it back in my tank. So I was quite impressed by its revival and I purchased three more to keep it company.

Great video! I would add with the Singapore Flower Shrimp and Atya shrimp in general. If they are combing the bottom for food, it is normal. They are scraping algae off of the rocks and usually do this at night where they will eat rhabdocoela and detritus worms, along with algae, and other food stuffs. In the day time they fan the water column for food, since any micro invertebrates will be the most active in the light. So the ground feeding is okay and it helps control algae.

I love seeing you promote the "pest" snails! I've never understood why some people are so against them.

If they produce enough eggs in like a 10 gallon tank they have a pretry big bioload

Love this! I too am a huge snail fan. I never cull - I actually have a little nofilter dirted bowl that my excess snails go in to live out the rest of their lives.
