A true OUAT fan would already know these things, but here's a couple that not a lot might not have heard of yet: 1. Baby Neal was played by 8 different babies, including Colin O'Donoghue's own baby. 2. Rumple's memory was awakened when Emma first told him her name in the Pilot episode. 3. The CS falling on the bed scene was improvised by JMo; Colin had no idea. 4. In 1x07 "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter", when the Hunstman brought the wrong heart to the Evil Queen, Lana got way too deep into her character that she was so angry and spitting in his face that when the director called cut, it scared the living out of Jamie Dornan and freaked Lana out. 5. The brown bracelet that Emma wears was actually Graham's shoelace. 6. Peter Pan was supposed to be on the show earlier than season 3 but they couldn't because of rights issue. So when they finally got the go signal, they immediately went second star to the right and straight on 'til morning. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but Hook was supposed to be Regina's (or the Evil Queen's) love interest but the producers decided to go with CS because of JMo and Colin's chemistry. Finally, Lana once said that she wanted OUAT to last for 7 seasons because this is her 7th series. The show is about to premier its 7th season in October.
Jasmin Mariano Hook was also supposed to be in season 1, but they couldn't because of copyright issues, so season 2 is when they apparently got to go in to Peter Pan mythology, if I remember correctly on the fandom wiki.(if that info is right.)
I am too!!!! Glad I’m not the only one obsessed with it I’ve rewatched this series at least 7 or 8 times I love this series thank god it’s on Netflix & my husband makes fun of me for loving it soooo much if he only knew how many others do too
Actually, the reason why Emma's parents are older is because before Emma came to Storybrooke time stopped and everyone there stayed the same age... This was explained heavily on the first two seasons....
Thank you for that. Every time I hear someone say this about the ages, I want to scream.....Do they even watch the show or listen even.....For 28 yrs, no one aged, except Henry, because he was born in the real world, and wasnt part of the curse....
Snow was almost the same age as Emma cuz the people in storybrooke were frozen in time nd never aged due to the curse, except Henry cuz he wasn't there when the curse was cast nor was Emma, but yeah I get your point too mojo.
They were supposed to be the same age Snow and Emma. Ginnifer said so in one old interview during season 1. She said something like: Snow white is supposed to be 28 when the curse hits.
Kendra Wells Im not entirely sure what you meant so this may or may not be irrelevant but lets not forget Hook spent most of his time in Neverland, and traveling between realms has to have some aging affect
TributesAndUnique what the hell are you talking about!? That's what pisses me off most about the show, nobody dies or stays dead, the ONLY exception being baelfire. Robin doesn't exactly count, as he made many appearances in this season despite "being dead", and hook isn't dead. You can't say they keep killing off male love interests when it's only happened to one character, and he also doesn't count as a love interest because he meant more to rumple, along with being Henry's father and Emma happened to love him. Saying he was a love Interest is downplaying his role immensely. I find fault in your comment.
Multi Fandoms She did the same thing on House but eventually came back. If the rating don't go the way they want and there is 8th season they may try to get her back on the show or if season 7 the last I hope all the people that left come back.
Shaun Grove not the exact same thing happened on house. On house jen didn't want to leave she was wrote off after "lockdown" because of obvious reasons but she said in an interview it wasn't her choice. With ouat though it was her decision and when jen said "one episode" that's all she was going to do. If the shows ratings go down I still don't think she will come back sadly
Jenn Morrison appeared in two episodes of season seven. The first was the one where Emma tells Henry she's pregnant, and the second being the series finale.
True but remember ABC didn’t tell them they were being canceled until the first episode of season 7 aired. In response they had to rewrite episodes and plan a series finale last minute
Helen Forman frozen happened. The focus was no longer on the core characters but became a series of guests and the favs became supporting cast to them. Eventually ratings fell and they never got the peeps back.
Honestly the some or some of the only reasons I liked from season 7 is the fact that Emma and hook had a baby and that Regina became queen and kinda got a happy ending and kind that they united all the realms
Steven Gracia I didn’t like season 7 but not because JMo wasn’t in it. Jen isn’t that great if you’d really know her. She constantly lets down fans and is disrespectful to Co-Stars
@@amy4541 How do you know? I heard that her and Lana could not stand filming with each other (not sure if that was the case for all 7 seasons or only up until S4/5 when Regina becomes good.)
I love this show Saw first episode and was immediately hooked Have seen every episode at least twice My only complaint it I have work to do and OUAT is so compulsive I can't put it down until I've seen all the shows I'm 65 and loving it
My view on once: S1:The best S2: eh, okay S3: great, make more like these S4: horrible, you idiots S5: no darkness, why am I still watching S6: redemption, perfect S7: a spin off
Aneesh Akkineni I won't lie, I wanted that as well. But deep down I know that plot-wise Emma has no potential for darkness because of what Snow and David did.
That's why Emma is almost the same "age" as her parents since Emma grew up in "real" time while her parents didn't during the first curse in Storybrooke.
Jennifer Morrison isn't the only one who left. So did Josh Dallas (Charming), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow) Bex Mader (Zelena) Jared Gilmore ( Henry) & Emilie de Ravin (Belle) But Jmo is coming back in Episode 2 of season 7, Jared in a couple of episodes in the beginning of the season & Emilie is coming back in episode 4.
5. Charming was suppose to die episode 1 4. The actors ages don't match their characters (not really a fact that's obvious) 3. Captain Hook secured his spot by making a good impression 2. Lady gaga was offered a role (blue fairy) 1. The 6th season was Emma's last
Who in the hell being an OUAT fan didn't know Jennifer (Emma) was leaving. And also Ginifer, Josh, Rebecca, Jared and Emily... So thats kind of a Now. Can i suggest top best Emma moments, saddest moments, hope moments... etc etc etc
I agree. The whole premise of Once Upon a Time is that Emma who grew up in our world is supposed the save her "Fairy Tale" family. Once is over without Emma. I don't want a bad taste in my mouth by watching it going forward. In case Emma does came back for good, I will stop as well. I love Once, I don't want to not Love it by seeing weird version of it. I don't understand why TV shows keep going on without main characters. It rarely ever goes well.
Jennifer Morrison left because her life is in LA and this is filmed in Toronto, Canada. The time away after six years was enough. She is doing the first episode to transition for the fans, and it was already filmed before Comic.com in California a few weeks ago. So she is back in CA and the three remaining cast members are now back in Toronto. It is my understanding the first episode will transition a number of characters including one scene with the old Henry at the start before going to the adult Henry (a different actor).
The age thing is simple, the curse made Snow, Charming and everyone else from Storybrooke (except for Henry) to be with the same age for 28 years until Emma came, and just like the clock started ticking, so as time started running.
I miss the old OUAT. I really loved the first and second season, because they were all such twists on original fairy tales. But then they started putting so much Disney into it... I mean I love Frozen, but it just didn't really belong. And Cruella de Vil? Just didn't fit the magical feel of the show, she's supposed to be from the real world. Them, and other characters like Ariel too.
I agree with frozen feeling misplaced and poorly written in but cruella de vill I thought was a pretty interesting addition considering she had a connection to the author which imo was a nice arc, plus she is a fiesty crazy woman :D
They use first half of S4 as Sequel Frozen in my opinion OUAT love at first then Ingrid motive was it wasn't evil as Peter Pan Wicked Witch Evil Queen or Rumplestiltskin
House of M Hi! Well they managed to do pretty well in hind sight with Ingrid being related to Emma. I thought that was smart. But the whole triangle relationship with Elsa Emma and Ingrid, due to the sorcerer telling the snow queen to find “new sisters” felt forced. As did Elsa even coming to StoryBrooke, it was a huge coincidence. And the timeline with Anna and David was yet another what are the odds?
I started watching it around New years and now I've seen the first 5 seasons at least 5 times and season 6 twice.....so glad I started after season 5 was done filming, binge-watching this show is amazing
I just watched the show for the first time a few months ago. I would have DIED not being able to binge it, especially during season 5 (and knowing that Hook came back)! I’ve also rewatched a few times… but never season 7 except for the scenes with Emma, lol
Just another comment ignore if ya want . Since Disney and Studio Ghibli are basically buddies I mean Disney distributes the films .. I've always wanted to see a Ghibli film get a storybrook story. Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away. OH SHIT IF THEY DID SPIRITED AWAY ..
JP Production RIGHT !! I would freak out seeing No Face and Chihiro. It could be well worked into the storyline so can Howls Moving Castle these are my favorite Ghibli movies ( I really love The Wind Rises, but that's a based on a true story, story.)
Fangirl's and shippers ruin everything. The fan girls ruined Once by adding hook, bringing in captain swan which got annoying after awhile and had Hook be more of a focus than the lead character. And the olicity shippers nearly ruined Arrow by forcing Olicity into the show and ruin the flow it had. Thankfully season 5 saved arrow for me.
Edward West-Summers a.k.a. Sparkwing26 Um..... No. Emma had more focus than Hook and practically all Hooks screentime was about Emma. By definition, Captain Swan focus is Emma Swan focus
xRaineDropsx No. The writers have said many times CS was always what they planned and it is evident in the narrative (watch Tallahassee if u don't believe me). Please stop spreading lies
Hook and CS have a large fanbase, you cannot say that their praise of both doesn't have some influence over what the writers do. No hate, I'm just being logical.
Yesterday was my first time watching Once Upon a Time I loved it so much and I really wish descendants and descendants 2 with mix with Once Upon a Time I love to see this
Trust me saying that jens farewell was difficult for fans is an understatement, when u grow attached to a character over the years they become a part of who you are and they help shape who u are, I remember finding out the morning after the Musical episode because I got the notification and I just thought it was going to be jen talking about captain swan or something and I remember reading and I instantly felt so empty I couldn't process it, I was in shock for a good 20 minutes before I texted my sister to warn her not to look at Instagram and then I just started crying, May 8th has been the worst day of my life and now every 8th since I just cry. And saying that her coming back for only one episode is NOT a silver lining. In that one episode they will be wrapping up Emma's story and it will be her curtain call as Adam and Eddie have said. But since her on screen husband is still there it is obvious something bad is going to happen to her. You don't just have a couple get married then have part of the couple disappear, yes I understand there will be a time jump but honestly the only way I see Emma leaving is 1. She runs away again even though in her song "all the years of running, no not anymore" 2. She dies, these options don't look that good. I understand that this was jens decision, and I could never hate her, but this show is doomed
I think my favorite thing about OUAT is how everyone is in total agreement that the show went to crap in season 3. You know, right after they killed off my favorite character in an effort to pander to a group of teenagers, and the show lost its sparkle, the thing that made it special. EVERYONE dates the deterioration to season 3 and I just think that's wonderful. And in fact, the only reason I've decided to watch this season is the focus on Henry has me excited at the possibility of more guest appearances by Michael Raymond James. I mean, if the show is about Henry, it doesn't seem crazy that they would find a way to include his father, in dreams or flashbacks or graveside vigils.
Something sticks with me when I hear Robert Carlyle speak. He could have easily done the voice of Golum/Smegal in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Of course he is a great character actor and can do much more. But there were times when Rumple was held in prison and he spoke. I'd have sworn he was the actor that did the voice of Golum. This Show Once Upon a Time was done so cleverly. It is a real treat to watch and I watch the whole series every now and then just to escape. Great now that it is suggested we stay home when possible.
I got hooked on this show because I loved The 10th Kingdom. However making everyone related to each other like a daytime soap opera, and the more and more confusing story lines just made me not care anymore. Usually when I start a show I'm loyal to it to the end but I just couldn't muster up any interest to watch season 6.
Kay2be2mr You really should have. Season 6 is the best thing to happen since season 3. Season 4 was okay and season 5 was only slightly better than 4 but 6, that was one amazing season. You really should watch it!
Kay2be2mr seriously lol if you find it to complicated or confusing that's just silly like it's not that confusing...do you just want it and other shows to be dumbed down so a 2 year old could understand it? Also not everyone is related...but seeing connections with characters we never thought would connect with each other is what's great about OUAT.
It's not what happened in the show. But jen (the actress) felt that Emma's story was over and had a happy ending so she thought this would be a good time to stop. Jen has been owned by networks on and off since 2002 and she was hardly able to see her family since filming is in Vancouver and she would have to fly back every weekend so when her contract was up she felt it was time to move on from ouat and to do other things. (Okay I cried writing that)
So Emma Swan is gone? Who were those two at the end? I stopped after season 4 I don't care if you spoil me I must know, but just in case make it to where others who haven't seen can't see the spoiler.
It's Henry all grown up and his daughter Lucy who he's meeting for the first time. That clip is from the first episode of the newest season. I've only seen up to season 5.
Okay I’m actually happy to know that Hook was going to be a series regular from the very beginning and that Collin was inspired by Wesley and Han Solo.
I think the reason why Emma is older is because while the fairytale characters were in storybrooke, they don’t age Time was stopped, but Emma was aging out in the world of no magic
Other fun facts: Josh Dallas (Charming) and Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow) are married in real life (but y'all probably knew that) Colin O'Donoghue (Hook) and Sarah Bolger (Aurora)worked together on The Tudors Belle was meant to be a one off character but fans loved her and RumBelle so much she was brought back to be a regular The iconic hand bandaging in 2x06 from Hook was improvised by Colin and Emma's reaction was genuinely Jennifer Morrison going "what the hell". Emma tackling Hook onto the bed in 4x22 and Hook kissing Emma's hand in 5x20 were also not scripted. In Emma's nursery there is a sailor doll and many have seen this as foreshadowing Captain Swan. In addition, in the episode Tallahassee when Neal steals the Swan keychain, a pirate keyring and a keyring saying "Henry" are next to it, further hinting at Emma's future romance with Hook. The actor who played Prince Eric also auditioned for Hook. Colin's dog Buckley was meant to be in 5x15 "The Brothers Jones" but wasn't Jared Gilmore (Henry) and Lana Parrilla (Regina) are very close in real life.
