Don't get me wrong, this car has treated me very well so far, but here's a few irritating things I've noticed. There will be a "Top 5 things I like" coming out too!
You are completely wrong , lane watch is the thing that i mostly love , i got it on all the time its so nice and helpfull , theres nothing i dislike about my honda after 21000 miles
The e-brake is one of my favorite things, I never have to touch it. Just turn on the brake hold ever time and when I park the parking brake turns on when I shut off the car. Still would like a handle to pull to drift in the snow.
I live in the UK. I have a 2019 Civic. 1.0 litre auto. My previous two cars were Jaguar X -Types so that affects my judgement. The things I don't like are the electronic parking brake, the digital speedometer, the cheap-looking dash and trim, the lack of a CD player, the lack of electric seat adjustment (apart from lumbar support),the hard seats and the lack of a heated front screen. Apart from all that I am very positive about the car, Great engine and good performance for its size. Excellent fuel economy.
The 2017 civic ex-t that I hated 1)rev hang 2)climate control 3)fog lights only go on with headlights 4)seats uncomfortable 5)bad instrument cluster Decided to get a gti and everything is better. Only thing that the civic has over the gti is better fuel economy
Over the years i have owned around 20 honda cars both civics and now i have a 2012 accord exl Worst seats ever they are painful Whimpy air conditioning and heat Terrible radio and speakers I hate tons of things about my accord and the newer they get the cheaper and worse they get. I will never buy another honda
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thought the clutch was garbage in my 2017 EX-T. The clutch slip issue you described happens frequently to me when I am at full throttle, and I don't even have the SI... I remember reading somewhere that the manual transmission for the 2017 Civic was made in India while the rest of the car was either made in Canada or Europe. Honda needs to stop making vehicle components in countries with poor quality control!
rpmpv1 Ya my 2018 SI on the window sticker says transmission made in India. Really wish Honda made them in house. I mean really like they made the seats that are in the type R in house.
Have you experienced any shaking/vibration when releasing the clutch in the 1st gear? I'm from Europe, I bought a new car ten days ago, and it shakes/vibrates when releasing the clutch in 1st and in reverse, no matter how much gas I give, it's unavoidable. This is happening from day one! My car is made in Turkey☹️ like all sedans for European market. I am so pissed and disapointed! Are there any similar issues with the clutch in the US? I don't know what is it, but it feels like the flywheel is gone. On a brand new car!!
I was honestly surprised the trim was one of your complaints. In mines, I have the silver fake carbon fiber texture trim and preferred the one you had. Great video!
Thanks for the video! I have bought new Civic Touring 2017, and would like to add to your list: -Tire Pressure Monitor - is not available in vehicles, purchased in Canada(?!) - I bought it, being ensured that it does have it, figured out after purchase - Brightness control of the instrumental panel - does not work - no beam sounds, no visual changes to the brightness. You can only dim the brightness, when your exterior lights are on, which means, during the daytime - enjoy max brightness on instrumental panel ; - Exterior lights stopped working ~1 year after purchase; - Intermittent (INT) wipers -first - one or no wipes, then they start wiping as if there is heavy rain, regardless of the position (min), speed of the vehicle, or weather conditions, then stop again. My point: INT is absolutely non-adjustable feature, rather useless - Air-conditioning system: no way you can stream airflow to the windshield only (when windshield is fogged from inside) - select airflow location can only come with legs' conditioning(!) - Maps: are inaccurate for traffic conditions (ended up using Google maps instead). - The whole wiper blade system is extremely delicate - any small piece of ice on the windshield would damage it permanently - Rear camera got wet, when raining - everything becomes vague . To park the car, you have 2 options: use your body and eyes, or stop, get out of the car, wiper the rear camera, get back to car..

I came here because I'm interested in buying a used 2017 Honda Civic. WhatI'm really curious about is how anybody can just set a parking brake without putting the car in park 1st. Are you kidding me?
I have the 2018 Civic Sport. 180HP stock, but has even less equipment than the LX model. No lane watch - I invested in convex mirrors eliminating the blind spots Interior is perfectly average - Much nicer and quieter than my base model, rattly Honda Fit. I have the base Cluster - no complaints, just had to get used to the Digital Speedometer. Electric parking brake took getting used too. I much prefer the handle as well. I always parked in gear on all my Manuals, and have had his problem with engaging and disengaging it. Glad it auto disengages if I try to move without turning it off. Clutch, my biggest complaint is actually the rev hang that forces me to slip the clutch. Granted it has no feel at all. I have not experienced any slipping at all at full throttle. I installed a weighted knob that I already happened to own and it was a major improvement to shift smoothness.
+Viral Varshney The interior panel gaps don't bother me much, personally, but the exterior ones do. Especially the misaligned window moldings I see every time I look in the rearview mirror 😂
I wonder if this is specific to Greensburg manufactured cars.. problem is.. you can't take this issue to the dealership for a correction since there is no publicly available spec on panel gaps..
Maybe driving vehicles with heavy and lousy clutches has tainted my judgement, but I like the Civic clutch. It’s light. It’s easy. It’s forgiving. It’s literally impossible to stall the car because it has such a gradual uptake... and when you’re slam shifting it it doesn’t matter anyways.
So, i traded in my 2016 MZ3 hb 2.0 6 speed for 2017 Si two months ago. 5500 miles later and this is my take away. My number ONE dislike of the Si it the garbage infotainment system. People love to rag on Mazda connect, but it was light years better than the Honda garbage. The reason why i didn't keep my MZ3 was because the clutch/shifter combo was the jerkiest most unsmooth car I've ever owned. It was my first brand new car and i put 36k on it in 1.5 years. I enjoy the light clutch and butter smooth shifts in the Si. Blind spot is better that lane watch. And so was the Bose system in the Mazda vs the "premium audio" in the Honda. Road noise is the same in both, at times i feel the Honda is louder, but I've never owned a quiet car. My Si is a vehicle i feel i wont get bored with in a year
Civic 2017 LX manual hatch -Weany horn sound -Cut off headlights are so low that driving downhill can't see far ahead -Honda carpeting is always thin -Low, wide car, so hard to judge front passenger wheel parking Otherwise love it

why you don't tell about ac freon? you have to take the car only to delleraship for that and pay them about 1500-2000$ and you can not do that in any other mechanic shop.
I hate about civic is the car become longer and bigger and they want the engine more powerful by putting turbos that will destroy the engine more quickly than natural aspirated engine..
man .. i think the camera from right side mirror is for parking side .. not for blink point mirror .. sorry my eng.. if you put reverse mod the camera it will activate and let you see how close you can parking .. side parking ...
1.That camera on the mirror isnt lane watch....lane watch is a seperate package... 2. Its a $19k civic. It IS cheap. 4. The electronic brake is garbage. But alot of makers are using them now.
That's bc it is far off to the right. It comes out of the front right bumper bottom area... On the Si, there is a cut out in the 'honeycomb' bottom grill inserts for the horn.
Nice! Yeah I had an 8th gen Si Coupe but needed an upgrade and wanted the Type-R which was selling for $15K over sticker at the time and I was NOT paying almost $50K for a F'n Civic lol - went with the 10th gen 2017 Si Sedan - besides the non-existent volume knob, I love the fucking car and can't wait until it's paid off so I can mod the shit out of it! - first will be a Tune, which I wish I could do now, but don't wanna risk voiding the warranty! keep rolling in your 9th gen my man!
Hey are you local to Chicago? I'm in the northwest suburbs and wanted a ride to feel the difference in the tune if you don't mind. I'm in the market to buy one and test drove a couple sport models today. Let me know thank you
Thinking of buying a used 2017 Ex-t 6 spd. I’m also considering a 2019 Lx 6 spd or SI. Did you have any issues with oil dilution like the CRVs? I like the new lx but don’t wanna miss out on the extra power. Can’t stand the look of the si but might just bite that bullet. Would you buy the ex -t again?
I bought my 2017 ext a month ago and I absolutely love it. The infotainment system can be a little bit of a pain i* t** a** but then again I am 47 and not very Tech savvy lol. As far as rev hang once I Got used to it I use it to rev match whed n up shifting And the shifts are seamless.
Man, you should have cleaned your car before making this video. I can't stand watching such a greasy interior so I only made it to 80 seconds and off I go. Soap is not an evil invention. Trust me on that.
Never seen those rims on any US versions of the car...are those Canada only? and did you add those floor well blue lights because I have never seen those either. I have a 10th Gen Si and I fucking love the car! except not having a volume knob lol
me too at first, especially on the Si. I miss the feeling of the physical handbrake after parking because its habitual to wanna pull the lever. But after a bit, I really liked the sounds it makes. Sounds like you're parking a space ship or something lol
Yeah I have a 2012 Accord coupe with 5 speed and the clutch doesn't even feel like it does anything. Keeping in mind that when I bought it with ~60k miles i had to replace it, and now I am about 81k and the transmission is about to say it's last goodbyes.
+JoshCraver9000 I believe the EX-T has an additional 2 speakers and 20 more watts. I'm pretty happy with it, but it's obviously not the best sound system.
@@importcarenthusiast It turned the oil completely black in less than 1000 miles and it had bad turbo out the factory. I had to take it to the dealer over 7 times, get a lawyer, and waste many hours of my day before they would even fix it. No volume nob. Vibration when driving. I did enjoy the performance and the awesome gas mileage, but that's it. I was very worried about the realiability long term. I'm looking at the VW GTI but not sure since I read they're not too reliable. I might honestly just get the 2019 Corolla hatchback and call it a day.

You sound like a one angry man. But thanks for your input on the problems that this car has. I would, however, add a terrible infotainment system to this list.
