Just want to make it clear: I DO NOT HATE THIS CAR AND I DON'T REGRET MY PURCHASE OF THIS CAR. If you haven't already check out my video 5 THINGS I LOVE: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_l-IMyecPBw.html Also my other videos. 😁✌
Basically it seems he wanted a high performance sports car at a budget price. 180bhp is pretty decent for this bracket, where 100bhp is common. Yes it’s not a type R but it’s half the price.
@@U4ICFather 1,5 ? with two pipes, well my 2013 is 1,8 and one pipe I can't even see :D and it is not a speeder but enough to feel safe 0-60 in about 8,3 sec :) no turbo
first off, it’s fiber glass to help keep weight low, which most cars on the market have so i don’t know why that’s a complaint. also the car doesn’t need a wing... it’s not a fast car, it’s a daily driver. the wing will just slow it down. and the performance complaint, same thing. this is also the second cheapest trim on the hatchback so you can’t expect the highest quality stuff because it’s a cheap car (24k) you cant compare this car to a car double it’s price. this is an issue i’ve seen all over youtube. just compare it to cars in its price range
Under what rock have you been living... what car doesn't have plastic all around? Haven't you herd about plastic fenders look into that and lets talk about cutting corners after that.
Ever notice that side markers are all the same color from the factory? These are DOT mandated. Any change of their color or making them less visible (smoked) is most likely a violation of state and federal laws/regulations
Yeah. The first time I noticed, it drove me nuts. I was pushing down near the window to maybe snap whatever was rattling back in place but nothing worked. Then my buddy had the same issue so I guess it's a normal thing with the car unfortunately.
Point 1) You bought a mid-spec hatchback. Of course there's plastic. The NSX is like 120K and has plastic lol. Nobody buys Honda for interior quality. Point 2) The car already looks aggressive enough. It doesn't need a fake wing to make it look riced.. Point 3) If you want a brand new car with over 200hp for less than £25,000, you're screwed. Affordable performance is a thing of the past if you want a current car. Even the new GTI only has 245hp and that starts at over 30k! Get a ktuner if 180 is too low damn. Point 4) FFS mid-spec. Point 5) Were you expecting a Bose? Bro you seem pretty out of touch with what to expect from cars. You even threw in a ram air intake for no reason lol.
I think he means that it takes too long to heat up. I know my 2014 corolla will start pumping in warm air in less than 5 mins of driving. Seems like a legit complaint to me.
This is a known problem with the 1.5 L engine. If your not driving on the highway it will never heat up... I had 2017 1.5 coupe and at -25/30 even if the engine as been heat up the car temperature would drop if sitting at idle at a stop light... recently changed for a 2021 sport sedan with the 2.0 and no problems with the heating now.
@@Mrclavet how was it to go from 1.5t to 2.0? I have a 2.0 been thinking about getting a 1.5t either the sport hatch or an si, is it that much of a difference?
the way i thought of this car when i got it was for daily driving and not speed or drag racing. it has plenty of power for what it is, it’s a perfect daily. i would’ve gotten the type r if i were looking for some speed and power
Did you buy this car with a blindfold on ? You are so far off, its not even funny. Maybe if you would stop f**king with the thing, it wouldn't rattle, and what ever else you are complaing about. As far as I'm concerned, you are improving this car into a total failure. I have the exact car, and its a Blast to drive, Box Stock !!!!!!!!!! No hack job painted markers, led down grades, Tokyo nights wing, Air intake sucking hot air into the engine. That use to be a nice car, now you get what you get.
LEDs actually perform better than the halogens, even if you're still using the projector housings. Also, it's 2021. LEDs are cost-effective, last longer. and make a car look/feel more modern. There's no excuse to not have them in map, dome, cargo, and glove box lights out of the factory nowadays.
To be fair... there's no avoiding the cheap plastic these days... my 6 gen 2SS Camaro was almost $50k new... everything's fucking plastic lol. I'm looking at picking up one of these little civics as a commuter car, they get wicked good gas mileage it looks like, and they're like around $20k brand new, that's fucking incredible to me lol.
Ok so every car has had plastic panels for the last 30 years or so. Maybe don’t jack up the bass all the way if you don’t want the door panels to rattle. And any car takes ten minutes or so for the thermostat to open to get heat through the heater core.
That is exactly what I was thinking. I was looking for this comment! LOL! I buy cars for a living and yeah, the front and rear ends on every other car built in the last couple decades or so is all plastic. Even high end cars like BMW and Mercedes, there are plenty of plastic on those also. I have this 2021 Fk7 and I agree with most of what he said. You are correct about the sound , but the speakers really are crap. And that warm up thing I believe is for people in colder weather. There is a oil dilution issue that affects those in the north. I think he lives in PA. My other issue is the connection on the Car Play.
ain’t no way you dislike just cause of that 😂😂😂 I think the wing looks good on a hatchback. It gives it a nice touch. I’d say not putting the wing on a stock hatchback but one that has modifications to go with it
@@michaelvillalobos5191 What do you mean no way I dislike it, the look of the vehicle is fine, looks good, but I don't see any point, just buy a Type-R, in my book I don't see any reason not too, it's like people who put the Raptor grille on their F150, it's weird
This IS in fact a fast car, in the corners. This chassis was not built for straight-line speed, much like its bigger sister, the Type R. The Fk7 has the exact same chassis as the Type R minus 2 welds to the frame that the Type R has. This is a fast cornering car. I do "spirited" driving with my FK7 on many mountain pass roads over here in California with many other Spirited drivers/cars and I am able to keep up with, or "pass" more expensive/ higher performing cars. you have to realize the FK7 is a tuner's car, much like the Si.
Let’s face it, if anybody wants performance then get the Type R. This car is just for the looks, seriously. You can see people testing this car in many videos here on YT, they step on the gas, it takes a while for the thing to get going! Firstly, the CVT, second, turbos have lag and thirdly is a 1.5L engine. Honda sells the sport badge as if it has tons of horsepower, in reality, it’s all about the looks… car sometimes sits lower, bigger wheels thin tires, stiffer suspension, aggressive LOOKS, you step on the gas… goes nowhere!!! The complaint about plastic, everything is plastic… including headlights… you’re probably too young but they used to be glass. If anybody wants metal then you need to look at cars from the old days!
If you bought this car for performance you need to get in touch with cars again. It's a econo car I bought mine for gas mileage as a daily. I didn't buy it to run my lawnmower against and older lawnmower.
By nature most Civics are all made cheaply to save on costs. To save on weight the body panels are thin. That is why they flex and dent easily. The paint and clear coat is sprayed on minimum. That is why the paint on Civics fade faster than the compare to other car manufacturers. They are made to save on gas. You pay for what you get.
yes blame the car for making the car cold LMAO. all cars require for you to heat up a bit before it gets warmer. no car can magically crank up fire magically that second.
Bruh, why buy it in the first place then? Your "hate" list could've been avoided if you did your due diligence before making a purchase. This video is 🙄🥱🤦♂️
I don't get the complaints about the plastic. Most modern cars have plastic in all the same places. I had a 2011 WRX and it had plastic bumpers, grille, spoiler, and side skirts. The bumpers are meant to be flexible. Unless you get a car from the 80's or older, plastic is a big part of car bodies now.
The plastic is mostly there for pedestrian collision safety. Check a regulation guide out to see how crazy auto makers standards have to be. Its the reseaon cars can't look that much different
With the CVT you lose almost 20ft/lb of torque and some few HP. And its far from a "sporty" gearing too. I have a 2017 with manual and its plenty of power for an entry level car with only a small 1.5L engine. Gotta remember they had to keep some room for the Si that is closer to 200hp. I've had a Fiesta ST also, and sure its a bit more power, but its a 1.6L and the transmission is a lot more agressive. And well, plastic is part of all cars these days. Lighter, easier to make, and safer during crashes. Its a civic afterall, they're supposed to be cheap.!
Can't wait to see what you do with it , I have a 2020 sport Hatch in red im attempting to mod and its tricky one since most parts are for the type r , si and sedan models .
Consider yourself lucky and smart...you only paid $25,000 for all that plastic there are people shelling out two to three hundred thousand for the plastic and carbon fiber( which isn't any different) on their super cars. I will admit there might be a slight engine performance difference to justify that cost.
Right?! "Plastic. This is Plastic. Again, plastic." Reminds me about the Straight to Jail guy in Parks and Rec lol. Plastic... what you want stainless steel?
I subscribed bc i want to know whats mods u gonna install on ur fk7. I own an 20' si coupe i know theres a lot of plastic but its looks good! #savethe manual
Thanks for supporting the channel. The hatchbacks looks amazing! But Having a cvt limits performance mods but I'm excited to push the cvt to its fullest potential.
Plastic equals less weight. Re the side markers, talk to the transit commissioner, they want orange. Engines warm up faster when u drive, all cars. U should have found a stick, and a sp touring. That's why I waited and saved before making my purchase. For me I don't trust the stock tires, they aren't sticky enough, the 540 watts in my sp touring is enough, yes there are rattles mind u. Same with the sunroof. From 6th to 4th, does surprise ppl. Pros and cons to everything.
My previous car warmed the car up minutes after I start the engine without driving. My other car (a vw golf) also does the same. But with this Honda I'd have to drive it at least 5 to 10 minutes for the inside to warm up. 🤷♂️ Maybe my car has a defect but that's how it's been since I bought it brand new.
Complaints 1-4 sounds like you should've bought an Si or Type R, but for what it's worth, the CVT hatch is a good daily/road trip car. Power wouldn't be my complaint, but a lack of an LSD really sucks on canyon roads when you can feel understeer.
must be your first car ever if your supprised car have plastic trim on them. you want an all metral car go buy a 70's or later car then youll have a meaty heavy solid iron bumper.but seriously if those 5 things are a downer for you a civic might not be your kind of car
@@chris_timefk8 yes to many people complain about the CVT but it really isn’t to bad in this car. You can still hold simulated gears and really use all the rev range. I’ve been watching a few tests Hondata have done on it. It can handle a fair bit more Power however there is a limit. Need to find the sweet spot.
Indeed! One of these days I will test out the car with ktuner or hondata. My buddy got a sport touring cvt and already has it tuned. It's a big performance boost and I'm excited to get one on mine one day!
@@chris_timefk8 just had an idea. You should get your buddy with the Sports touring and do some races. Would make for a really cool vid plus give us an idea of just how much faster a tuned one is, rather than numbers on paper. How many miles on yours and how long is your warranty? (just curious)
You'll hate the civic more if you don't rodent proof your wires. Get Honda Rodent Tape and have it wrapped on all the insulated wires under the hood asap. A warm engine and also the faint soy vanilla smell will attract rodents and small animals to eat these wires since there Insulation tubes are made of real soy.
The plastic complaint is irrelevant. Look at most if not all European cars. Almost everything in the engine bay is plastic. 😂 in a JDM (Honda/Toyota) they engine has quality Metal parts. The exterior is plastic to save costs, weight, and durability. As well Honda have some of the tightest figments in the business. You will find on any car, tons of plastic all over the vehicle.
I understand about the lacking performance but if that was an issue you should’ve just gotten the manual. Their tuned from the factory with more torque and its overall more engaging. And if your looking for performance the cold air would’ve netted you more gains . Also these engines aren’t meant to idle for 10-15 minutes. You honestly just need to let it warm up for a minute or two and let it warm up gradually by driving.
Right here. I have this EXACT car in a manual, and it’s fun as hell. Not fast per se, but it can scoot if you wind it out HARD. Hitting the rev limiter etc 😂 I would never have a automatic. Especially not a CVT. Saddens me to see the younger generation embracing poke and go slush boxes. I still like your car though!
I’ve had the bumper problem since I first got the car. The window trim also melted down and had to be replaced at the dealer. And the paint is not very good quality. I hate the CVT transmission
since i have a black '21 sport hatch, i totally hate the color of the side markers. it doesnt go with the color. like its all black and then boom!!!!! orange in a sea of black. lol. i will change those out soon. for me the stereo is perfect. my previous car, a 2020 Kia Rio S, you had to turn the volume all the way up to even, get any bass thump. i dont hear the rattling since my volume is at 30 most of the time. for me tho, this car is better than my previous car, a 2020 Kia Rio S.
@@chris_timefk8 ill have to ask my roommate if he notices a rattling sound as well. he bought the exact same car as me. same color and trim and style lol =P. but ill definitely ask him is he notices any noise in his car.
@@poetstud1981 I have a 2020 sport hatch back and I don't hear rattling even when I crank to 25. That maybe because I have most of my volume along the midsection of the car.
I mean bumpers NEED to be made in plastic nowadays for pedestrian safety, but i think he meant that all the little subdivided pieces (all the little black parts of the mask, the overall black inserts and the fake vents with all the little bits around) in the body gave it a "cheap look", a point i can agree on if thats the case.
I absolutely hate the whale tale oversized wings that are on the Type-R. I don't know why anyone would want to actually ADD that ugly wing to the hatch. I picked up a 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport 6-speed 2 weeks ago. and I love it. I hate the 2022 redesign 100% not my thing. I love the way the 2021 looks. I think the stock spoilers are 100% on point for what the back end of the hatch should look like while still getting some needed downforce. The 6-speed thanks to the turbo has pretty good pickup. I would have preferred the sport 6-speed came stock with the 2.0L instead of the 1.5L but I am shocked at how it actually performs stock. I will probably mod it at some point to get it over 200hp, but I am really surprised to not be complaining about it's power stock, coming from a '92 accord 5-speed and a 2008 Accord 5-speed (2.0L * 2.4L iirc) So I will disagree with you strongly when you say the 10th gen civic hatch should come with the ugly whale tale, I would not have purchased it and disagree on the stock power. I know you don't hate the car, these are more like things to nit pick on IMO. the plastic is high quality Honda design and actually looks good, less weight, no problems on my end there. I miss having a moon-roof, and will likely have to just deal with that, my 2008 Accord Coupe 5-speed came with a moon roof that I thought I didn't care about, till I had it for almost 14 years and now this new 2021 Civic Hatch Sport 6-spd. does not have it, wow I miss it. I miss the larger trunk the Accord had. but I think I can get used to it, just have to use the space available differently. The Civic is larger than some of the older civics, but overall it is smaller than the Accords, not a complaint really I knew it was a difference. but no more accord coupe's and I wanted to move on after having almost 30 years in my past 2 cars total 16 in the 92 and just under 14 in the 2008. I will agree with you on the stock halogens, they feel very weak, I feel like even my 2008 accord had better and brighter bulbs. So I will look into replacing those. Another thing I agree on was the orange side markers, 2 weeks in and I've already also replaced the side markers. I bought a cheap one that does not have the switch back, I will likely upgrade to that at some point with smoke and switchback for signals and LED. Agreed on the bass, I pumped it up a bit also day 1. But overall, I have to say the sound system sounds clear, no rattling, very clean and enough power for me. Thanks for your videos, I have done some quick updates so far to mine. just easy and cheap things for now. 1) Ignition Button Ring (RED) 2) Rubber inserts for cup holders and cubbies. 3) LED Map lights, cabin light and trunk. (lasfit, 2-packs x2) 4) Sunglass Storage : replaced driver oh-shit handle. 5) American Flag license plate brackets. 6) Smoke Marker Lights w/Amber bulbs. (Revi MotorWerks Depo Smoke) *[]future mods I am thinking about[]* Mud Guards LED head lamps Amber LED fog lights Wireless Qi charging pad Wireless Apple Car Play dongle. Speed / performance tuning. Solid Black Forged Alloy Rims A/C Knob Covers (red) Red Accent Kit.
This is so cringe to watch. Of course over half the car is plastic. Go find me a car in that price range that isn’t. Also that plastic isn’t going to expand and crack in the summer. There are people with older cars in perfect condition. You’re expect all cars have metal or something? Metal costs more. The engine is easily tuned its 450 or under to get a Hondata and Ktuner. Go compare it to the Corolla hatchback in that price range, and even lower and the Mazda3 performance. Your headlight complainant is kinda dumb. You’re buying a car in lower trim, they aren’t gonna include leds in them. Before you buy a car they literally list it. If you hate it so much you shouldn’t have bought it . Side maker has to be orange, go ask whoever’s in charge of the cars why they need to be orange. Nothing you can do besides change/mods. Speaker with the rattling noise why not pull off the panel and fix it. Doesn’t take much. Heater worked fine for my 2017 hatchback. It doesn’t take 10-15minutes. It just takes longer for the car to warm up, but it’s not that bad sounds like you’re being unreasonable. Install remote if you want it to warm up more.
I'm assuming you knew all this before the bought the car, so why did you buy it? Did you want Honda use metal instead? Your plastic comments killed me.
a sport hatch wouldnt rlly be bought for its performance, its rlly in a good spot bcs any higher then you might as well just get an si, they had to stay below it
plastic bumpers like every car out there,... thank fuck they don't all have a big wing, the 1.5T offers a class leading blend of power and fuel efficiency, smoked side markers are ugly, sport touring has LED and better audio, and all internal combustion engines need time to warm up ... the car isn't perfect but this video is pointless
LMAO seriously... It also weighs less than metal, doesn't rust, saver in an accident and so much easier to deal with rock chips. Don't expect to have fiber glass or carbon fiber on a 20k car 😅
I've got a 21 ex. Led lights would be nice. The sounds system is fine for me. I don't listen to bass heavy music that much and never thought it was bad anyways.
- biggest thing for me: the trunk should be able to release open using the key fob! - the infotainment system is very easily scratch prone - no arm rest/cup holders in the back seat - the cargo light can’t be turned off so let’s say you want to have a little picnic in the trunk or something like that
@@amylynntriplechin5145 yeah, but i feel like at least that shouldve just been included bc it's not a base trim and there's not tech involved in using it
2 major things i hate is ... 1st the stereo sucks, the bass sounds like its gonna pop the speakers ... 2 is the cvt transmission LAG when you come to a quick stop and then try to punch the gas , there is a slight hesitation to speed up.
Well you should've got the type R I thing you need to be NOT so superficial about little things like those 5 you hate, for the cost of this car what did you expected?
i own a 2020 sport hatch, and believe me the sound quality issue has very little to do with the stock speakers. in fact, i just replaced mine with $350 infinity component speakers and i could barely hear the difference. (mid and bass wise) the infinity tweeters are much crisper though. so what i think is that the stock 180W HU is just not powerful enough to drive those speakers. and about the rattling noise in the doors, i purchased sound deadening mats from amazon and insulated all 4 plastic door panels and the sheet metal of the doors, you will be amazed how good those mats are. they basically eliminated all the rattling noises. (make sure to insulate the plastic clips in the door panels as well) i took the time to insulate the door sheet metal. now when i shut my doors, they dont sound filmsy, hollow anymore...they sound solid like they are from a more expensive car.
I enjoy my wife’s civic, I got her a tune & PRL intake, she loves it, tried to get her to get a wing but she ain’t feeling it. To much attention when she drives my CTR
To me I drive a 2019 Civic Hatchback and I love way it looks at every angle. The only neat picking I complained about is the dead buttons on the interior (by the gear shift and by the lane departure button) for me they should not put them there at all( I drive an EX) But majority of it works for me even with the Honda Lanewatch because of the Pillar on the right back corner
i drive a 2019 typer R and it even has the blanks. depending on were the is being sold depends on what blanks are left. other countries have more buttons in the car than the ones sold in the U.S.
@@bradgreen9225 true even for the EX, rather than the dead buttons in there they should had put like a sport button like what the Accord has and just take out the dead buttons in my opinion
This is a known problem with the 1.5 L engine. I had 2017 1.5 coupe and recently changed for a 2021 sport sedan with the 2.0 and no problems with the heating now.
Worst thing about this car: The styling and dashboard instrumentation’s. Outdated as hell, lots of fake vents, stupid outdated sharp angles and video game instruments. I’m pissed that I had to buy the 2021 model when the 2022 is right around the corner.
11th gen is supposedly going to look less aggressive. I'd have to see in person to actually judge. It's kinda like what they did to the new BMW where they made a massive grill. At first it was fugly. But over time I kinda started liking it. Lol
Changing the bulbs to LED was also the first thing I did, I hated the look of the white LED strip paired with halogen bulbs on the headlight. . It made me uncomfortable to look at 😂. But I love your build man! I definitely do need to get that Type R wing soon.
