Ehhh I’d say 2 strokes require less maintenance than racing 4 strokes… or more like its much simpler maintenance. Outside of the gas mixing of course, but rebuilds are way easier. Does the competition thing mean you can’t get a green sticker? How does that work with these is it red? I’m in cali but my XR650R is plated, so I’ve never dealt with the stickers but if there is a way around it on a sick lil super mini thats cool, would consider picking one up used when they are a dime a dozen!
Yes, it means no green sticker. The bikes that are sold with very loud exhaust systems with no spark arrestor will be considered unfit for the green sticker program. The red sticker program was discontinued because the entire point of the green sticker and red sticker program was to encourage people to buy more green sticker bikes. And when they realized it didn't work, they stopped doing the red sticker program. Essentially, what that means is that any bike that doesn't have a green sticker can not be ridden on ohv trails, etc.
@mikehunt3987 Before the red sticker program was discontinued, bikes that were from 2002 and older were all considered green sticker kegal. Now that the red sticker program is gone, I believe bikes that are either 2020 or 2021 and older will eventually become green stickers within a few years.
@@user-jo6nt7jz5eyou’ll wish you stuck with a 2 stroke when you see the price of a piston for a 4 stroke. 2 strokes are more than half as reliable and less than half the price and time to fix
If you don't want to be sitting on a vibrator, don't buy a Kawasaki, I swear every Kawasaki I've ever owned needed a spare bolts kit on it, for the price, don't be stupid and pay 7k for a 112 should be pretty self explanatory, oil won't leak that badly on a well maintained and ridden two stroke, and mixing oil really isn't that difficult, fun bikes for sure !
i had a 21 kx100 and it’s the best low maintenance bike i’ve ever had because it’s so reliable, granted it does vibrate bolts out sometimes but overall it was a solid bike on a 23 gaagas 125 now
I don't know if I agree with this i own 7 bikes been riding my hole life 2 stroke easier to rebuild a lot cheaper parts but what it cost to rebuild a 2 stroke is about the same as a 4 stroke which last twice as long so its really the same thing just less down time . If you have oil leaking out the exhaust either your gas isnt mixed right or you need to run at a higher rpm to burn it off and if your saying anything about vibration you need a 4 stroke because your putting around. Ultimately you should be on a 4 stroke by the sounds of it. I just got two 2023 klx 110 for my kids and the price for a name brand bike is highway robbery
Leaks oil from the pipe cause it’s too rich…. 2 strokes are way easier to work on and don’t take more maintenance then 4ts plus the vibration is because they’re made for DIRT 😂😭
Every engine has a power band. When they reference this, they are talking about when an engine reaches the perfect time for power delivery. It's not an actual mechanical object within the engine. Think of it this way: you're in 5th gear at 10 mph, you hit the gas, engine bogs, you get no power, so you're not in the power band. Do it in 1st or 2nd, the front wheel lifts up, and you're in the power band.
the number 1 thing to consider is you are an adult riding a bike made for pre teens and teenagers. I rode kx 100s when I was 10 and 11. who is this for?
Whack. You’re running way too rich if you’re leaking from the exhaust dude. Oil changes on a 2 stroke are way cheaper and mixing gas takes 5 minutes. Just depends what you like riding more, I’ve spent a decent amount of time on both. A 2 stroke top end is simple and inexpensive and even if you were racing, you maybe do a bottom end at 250+ hours and a top end at 50-60+? If you aren’t racing you can easily get 80+ hours out of a top end.
Nah man I had a kx85 and never raced it but you need to do a top end every 35ish hours. Otherwise the piston just eats away at the cylinder. You could probably get away with a few more hours on a 112 though.
@@Regan_Tathamthat’s just because it’s a KX, drag racing my 2005 CR85 for 40 minutes at a time it will beat a RM 125, while running horribly. Don’t know why but something about the old Hondas is just insane
@@Regan_Tatham it wasn’t really clapped, it’s just an RM, it did win a majority of the races but on roll races, the 85 would pass it once it hit 4th, don’t know how, we switched riders and it happened again. That RM isn’t that much slower than my 2000 YZ 125, that will beat it but not by a lot
@@user-ls8yq5lz1h Find that hard to believe. Never ridden a cr 85 or a rm125 but I used to ride a 2013 kx85 and going from that to a 2016 yz125 was night and day difference yz is so much faster. The 2016 model would be a completely different bike to the 2000 though.
This guy would shit himself if he rode my old KTM 200, I had a kx85 before the 200 which has the same engine (although smaller bore) as the kx112 and the 200 vibrates so much more
@@amandagillard8255 OK and I've been riding for 8 years too? If it is carbon then why don't four strokes also have it, and why is it wet? If it's carbon then it should be dry.
