1:30 Proud to say those architects came from my hometown Salt Lake City. They were stuck on the way back to California by the winter and forced to stay for weeks. They learned much from local architects and engineers, with the major takeaway being Salt Lakes grid system.
Really enjoy the historical context provided! Definitely want to visit Hokkaido in a future trip, so this video is super helpful and inspirational. Thanks for making it!
Two weeks ago I went to the theatre in order to watch the film (saveur des ramen = ramen bakkuteh, a franco, japano soingapourien movie), by Eric Khoo, and Takumi Saitoh. I really liked it…. I have never eaten Japanese ramen, yet if I have the chance to visit Sapporo, which I intend to do next spring, I will visit all the places that you mentioned in this video. I may not drink beer, but some Japanese whisky. This video is a marvellous production, and agreeable for watching. Thanks a lot, merci beaucoup, and salutations from Paris.
Please PLEASE can someone tell me what the dark sauce they pair with genghis khan in the beer garden is? Fell in love with it when we went and haven't found anything similar since.
Jingisukan sauce recipes are closely guarded by their shop owners. I tried to get the recipe from the owner of a little restaurant in Niseko years ago, he was flattered that I wanted it but firmly refused!
Thanks much. Almost all of the graphics are created in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects. The detailed topographic maps are rendered using specialized map software and digital elevation model (.DEM) map files.

the problem with sapporo is that it takes too long to reach using your jrpass, but if you mix it with asahikawa, hakodate and aomori is worth going there. Not a lot of things to do in sapporo itself.
The Ainu are not indigenous peoples. They are a group of various tribes that migrated to Japan from the area around Japan in the 13th century. They didn't have a common language or custom. In other words, the customs and languages of the Ainu who live on the beach and those who live in the mountains are different. What is currently treated as "Ainu" is an artificial language. These things are academically clear. However, the Japanese media ignored academic achievements and continued to promote it by creating a fiction called "Poor Ainu discriminated against by Japanese society." Most of the Japanese media is an intelligence agency (not a news agency) obsessed with anti-Japanism. They work with Japanese politicians in collusion with anti-Japanese forces (Chinese Communist Party, Workers' Party of North Korea, South Korean government, United Nations, Democratic Party of the United States, etc.) that continue to aim to divide Japanese society, and "indigenous peoples" I got the interest. Most Japanese politicians are ignorant of Japanese history. Prime Minister Suga is one of them.
