Hi Matt! You are by far my favorite golf guy on YT. It's easy to see you know your stuff and yet explain whatever topic so damn well through your videos! For real I have struggled with my driver swing for years now. So inconsistent that I actually had given up learning it and avoided the big stick as much as humanly possible. Then I stumbled over the video where you're telling to pivot the whole stance and not just lean the upper body to one side (as everybody else on YT suggests). And boom! Now I love playing with the Driver. Of cause, I'm not suddenly a Tour Pro, but it's going very well and best of all, I'm not afraid to use it anymore. So Thank you very much... Also, I find the style of the videos, the content, the topics and your humor mixed together perfect for my taste. So keep up the good work and may the birdies be with you ... 😁 (Sorry for my grammar, English is not my first language 😉)

This is just what I needed. I haven’t been opening my stance at all or keeping my legs close together and trying to swinging in to out. All of which resulted in so many epic fails from 30 yards! I can’t wait to practice this. It’s a half swing, but it’s so different than what I was doing! So glad I came across your videos! Love the energy! Thank you so much!

Great video, solid advice. The biggest key is to continue the rotation, because, if not, the tendency is to get too in to out and that (with the open stance) could cause a hosel rocket

Excellent, simple explanation of the shot fundamentals. I personally find it helpful to always take a couple of practice swings, to feel the length of the swing needed *AND* to see where the club is striking the turf. I have a tendency to put the ball too far back in my stance on these shots. Seeing the turf impact on my practice swings, dictates my ball position on the shot.

Working on short game has always been difficult for me because I’m not a member of a club that has a short game practice area. I can chip a bucket of balls on the driving range but bunker practice? If I had the money for a private membership somewhere I’d be a much better golfer.

@@tsams2955 it's because you want LESS bounce to help "dig" a little. It's the same principle when you are in a bunker that is packed hard and/or basically filled with dirt at crappy courses. you need to have a square to slightly closed face to make sure the club DIGS into the sand/dirt to pop the ball out. Use an open face and it's blade city.

@@jim60631 I think you are right, I took a lesson from our local pro here, he showed me by opening the face you change the bounce attack angle and you’re going to skull it every time. I was instructed to use a 9 or P-wedge and square up and almost like putt the thing…

Lee Trevino method. Use the bounce. However....If you were out 280 and hit a 3W 250 and had 30 remaining, you should have hit a 5i 180 and left yourself a cool 100 yd Shot

Suggestion: It would be helpful if you always mention the loft of the club you're using. I'm assuming this is your lob wedge however I know different shots require different clubs/lofts.

Great tips, but missing the one that for me really makes the difference: pay attention that the take away is straight (or even outside) and up, and not inside your target line, otherwise is very easy to chunk or skull it.

If u r hitting great shots using the 1st orange stick and swinging left why introduce the 2nd orange stick and swing right?

The 2nd orange stick is for your clubface at set up. Your clubface should be open to the target, by making it square to that 2nd orange stick.

Accelerate threw the ball is the biggest mistake I see ...they stab at it , or deselerate causes you hitting it fat or thin . I am a scratch player , and I never see. but one or two other people on the practice green with me . Putting , and chipping are 85% of the game ....practice alot is key !!
