Please folks be honest about what is wrong with the bike because not everyone can afford to fix it and they may have been saving for a long time to get it and will be Hella disappointed if it wasn't expected and it ruins the first ride think how sad you would be

I wish people would keep all the original parts they took off and include them with the bike when they sell it. I just purchased a 2021 Suzuki DR650 and only got 1 key, missing grab bars that the previous owner took off, just little stuff like that that is annoying. How hard is it to store 1 small box with little parts? How hard is it to not misplace a motorcycle key? Don't get me started on pictures.... it's hilarious how few and poor of pictures are on most bike ads.

When I heard “test ride” mentioned I thought the video was going to take a major turn. Specifically, how not to get your bike stolen! There are numerous news reports out there about people having their bike stolen during a test ride so, be careful. I had a friend meet at the buyers house, buyer took off never to be seen again and the house was vacant. So get cash in hand, meet at a police station, whatever. If it feels/sounds suspicious chances are, it is.

It's unfortunate that you have to worry about that but it definitely happens. Thanks for checking out the video and giving your thoughts.

Fix broken stuff and clean it. Make sure it's ready to rip.

Magic eraser works well but also removes some of the gloss from the plastics. Only use exactly where you need to and scrub as lightly as possible

Magic eraser and either cleanser or purple power and oven cleaner works really good for cleaning aluminum and other shiny metals but always do a test spot

Always start low and only go up in small increments most of the bikes i have bought i looked at alot before buying but every time the day after i find something better and cheaper except when it comes to 90s yamaha 2 stroke wrs they don't come up very often and they go fast and i wish I could get every single one they are one of the best bikes ever made and most folks don't know about them but the ones who do snatch them up i don't think the new bikes are worth the price and they have a lot of things i don't like i wish someone would make a steel frame kick start carburated 2 stroke with a wide ratio trans enduro with a18" rear and set up for low end torque for putting up hills that doesn't overheat they just don't make them like they used to

Don't use a razor on plastic use 1500 grit sand paper wet with a tiny bit of dish soap and work up to 3000 grit and a brass wire brush with wd 40 is good for cleaning metal parts

All this might work for streetbike sales or with people, that are new to the dirtbike scene. You don't fool experienced dirtbike riders with new plastics and a black pencil. All that matters is the technical condition. If i saw a 2 year old, 100 hr dirtbike with absolutely no optical signs of wear, i would look twice on everything to tell a honest bike from a dazzler.

Not sure riders need tips on how to sell for more money as from what I've seen, many used dirt bikes are going for way too much. Riders have way too much of an inflated view of their dirt bikes. In my mind, you buy a $12K dirt bike and ride it for a season, put 60+ hours on it (probably needs a top end within 20 to 40 more hours), it's worth $8K max. You lose a minimum of 25% of the resale the second you take it off the lot. Oh, and all of those upgrades you put on it, worthless! No one wants to pay for your upgrades.

Lots of bikes out there with negative equity after you add up all the neglected maintenance. I rarely buy used. Cheaper to buy new.

Very true. The majority of used bikes on the market have such inflated values. Run of the mill two strokes are the worst for this

I have bought a few real good bikes used just don't get the first one you see look the bike over thoroughly and ask questions and get them talking about it the condition of the consumables and rubber parts and bottom of the frame and swingarm will tell you alot also look under the seat and gas tank and other places that are usually covered up take a few tools and a flashlight and a mirror take your time looking I've found bikes that belong to a younger rich kid are usually the most unmaintained and abused because they are not concerned about making it last and the parents are usually too busy to do it for them and run it long enough to get fluids mixing or leaking if there's a problem also do a compression test and look at the spark plug and dip a pencil magnet in the fluids after you have got it up to temp also check the bottom of the fork tube folks forget to clean them you don't want someone's mud bogger or their hill climb ghostride special people are always really nice when they want you to buy something from them and some people aren't very honest when they are in a tight spot and are selling their bike cuz they need fast cash

Always adopt the mindset that YOU don't want your bike anymore, that you want to move on, that dealing with modern Facebook buyers is worse than torture. So drop that price until it hurts, and then drop it some more. A week after the sale, you'll forget about it, and not be so anxious to buy a different bike the next time one catches your fancy. The same concepts apply to girlfriends.
