They definitely have some inserts that’ll destroy boots in a hurry but I run the ones that come with the pegs on both my bikes and I’ve had the same boots for probably 3 years now I’d say over 120-150 hrs of riding if not more
What about the missed welds on the frame and pressure fit cam gears? We have seen several bikes come back with low hours where the cam gears rostered on the shaft. Sometimes it’s just less power other times it grenades the motor. Seems like the first mod should be addressing that.
OEM foot pegs are average at best on this bike IMO. Left hand peg is out from the frame and there is some feedback that you’re riding on the bracket instead of the peg. Good recommendation on the pegs.
After leaving the mx race shop an moving to florida i left my bike builder....the honda tech was good at suspension he did race tech gold valves an so sweat he was just so hepfull as the Race tech gold valve must be super easy to change he did the original plus 3 more resets fork an shock..i knew how i wanted it an i think he knew excactly what setting i was gonna land...yeah the HRC FACTORY TEAM setting..he nailed it then i could retire from racing...hah hah not kidding...it cool to hear race tech gold valves are still used...a man told me the stock bike is set up so it wouldnt bottom for a 250 guy an it works decent for the 150 pound rider so its not perfect....its better in 2023 then then the 90s 80s 70s...come on kids got no clue
I would recommend upgrading the chain and sprockets, air cleaner element, grips, tires, and load some ecu tunes that work for your needs. I prefer my '21 for many reasons. Approx. 30 mods on it. Just flat out hauls balls!
If ur gonna race an ride a lot it helps to get it valved...do the fork an shock mods....i road race a yamaha 750...an having ur racing suspension in Road racing doesnt count as a mod....because its more safety based..
The seat on those New Yamahas is too rounded.....it's like sitting on a log ! Need a flatter top with rolled corners seat foam like the previous generation bikes.
Honestly, I haven't had any issue with it. Maybe it's just me, but I don't notice the narrow, rounded profile. I did just put a new seat cover on and am trying a bump for the first time and plan to do a ride review for it! - Chase
Riding motocross, case covers aren't something that I would put too high on my list. Doesn't mean it's not a good upgrade thought. But not something I'd put in the first 5 things I would want on my bike. - Chase
Pretty much all 250's and 450's are right around the same seat height, but they are pretty tall. This bike is also sitting up on a stand. Thanks for checking out the video!
