It’s astonishing how these days a RU-vid video about the failures of mainstream entertainment can be considerably more entertaining than mainstream entertainment.
I don't watch these movies series because they are so boring. Sometimes I go a full month without watching anything just playing video games. Much more entertaining.
I wish Tennant had said 'nope' on Doctor Who. If he had (instead of going along with it) I might have retained my (admittedly already slightly blemished) respect for the actor. That just showed me I had been giving him too much respect from the get go.
It took a long time for them to realize that. There were more than enough problems in the real world and yet they paid for getting their idols destroyed just to feel even more miserable.
Same here, but i tried The Witcher because i love the Witcher games. But i couldn't stand even for the Season 2. Henry Cavill got my huge respect for leaving that clownshow.
As a person in a wheelchair, why do producers care about whether or not a person in a wheelchair is depicted as evil or good? I think it's more disrespectful to believe that a person in a wheelchair CAN'T be evil, as if being in a wheelchair makes a person immune to being evil.
People with a handicap or from minorities can't be bad, that's common knowledge, you bigot! How dare you compare them to normal people with personnalities, flaws or complexity! EDIT: Just in case, I was joking obviously.
russel has gone down hill and his story writing with modern has turned to garbage it seems, use to do good storys now he is ruining himself and his work with trying to please one side.
I think Velma was only saved because no one could watch all the episodes. You can't put it on a list if you didn't watch the entire show, right? Nah, I think he just forgot it. The Witcher season 3 was terrible but Velma was worse, And yeah, I think a comedy without any humor whatsoever is the worst thing you can create. Even the dumbest action flicks filled with political messages can at least have a couple of action scenes that are slightly entertaining to watch (and sometimes it gets unintentionally funny) but when you fail comedy you really fall flat. Velma tops my list for worst media 2023 and it is not even a competition. Not only is it not funny at all, the mystery have less story and is way more stupid then anything from any other Scooby episode. If a 20 minute episode have more story then you have for 10 episodes together, you are doing something wrong. Also, it had 7% audience score last I checked, lower then anything on this list by far.
There is just way too many to choose from. It was truly the most vomit inducing, cringe and pathetically woke year in entertainment. Just look at my avatar. That’s what I think about Hollywoke.
Not being able to have a bad guy in a wheelchair is just so much worse. It's like you're viewing anyone with a disability as fragile that need to be pampered and can't be touched by anything remotely negative lest they crumble apart. They're normal humans ffs, stop treating them like children.
They look down on the people they claim to want to represent like gay, trans women, disabled or short people. They're basically saying "these people are fragile and stupid, they'll buy our gabrgae products as long as they "see themselves" in them", you know, because they're not intelligent adults who can have diverse tastes and thoughts like everyone else.
@@danielstewart7732 Yes! That was a brilliant character. Real comic villain stuff given life by Samual L Jackson. (Though whatever he's doing now for Disney is crap.)
But that's the age we live in now; where everyone gets a participation trophy, because everyone's feelings get hurt or must be acknowledged, and you must agree with their feelings or you're labeled as a phobe or toxic. That's called entitlement, well delusional entitlement lol. That's the age we live in now
That kind of sums up Hollywood in general. Treating everyone with a disability, or of some ethnic group, or gender or whatever as some kind of delicate infant that can’t be portrayed doing anything wrong completely steals their character of depth.
Hahahaha that's exactly what I was thinking. People in wheelchairs don't want 'special' treatment. They can handle being treated like every other human. Ugh.
Dog person? I've got a screenplay that's gaining steam about dog people called SNOUTS. Wish I could get it into Gary's hands. Could really use his help.
I’m sorry, the BBC has determined that you are too fragile to see a villain in a wheelchair. It is the official opinion of the BBC that people with disabilities are fragile, weak, and must be treated as helpless children. Isn’t progress great? 😢
It’s incredible how little Hollywood learned from ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’ Then again, maybe they don’t want to learn, they just want to pander to a small, disproportionately loud segment of society - even if they lose money doing it.
@Ni-dk7ni This. The globalists want to push Marxist left wing ideology among the masses to control speech and society while they at the top collect all the wealth and power to themselves. They don't mind losing money when their end goal is control and worth the investment, however, their miscalculating, most people don't like this stuff, their running out of their own money and other people's money. Don't forget the globalists aren't all powerful, they fail more than they succeed, its just you don't see the failures because they sweep them under the rug.
I think it's going to take a serious loss of money before they are forced to turn it around. They've allowed so many with this virus to infiltrate, now they're clinging on like limpets and will need to be literally dragged away kicking and screaming. Who had the balls to even avoid hiring them? No bugger. So it is going to take some huge collective balls to get them out.
I did spend a lot of time wondering what exactly is going on with modern entertainment. Namely: WHY? Why the woke stuff? I genuinely think that the only people permitted any real creative influence are either too old or too young: They're either social media-powered youth or old people directed by the fantasyland of DEI to stay relevant - since left-leaning politics is currently far more dangerous, the psychopathic higher-ups go with that. Being nice, talented or dedicated is meaningless against the overpowering force of "diverse" politics. It's mob rule. Do what we say or we'll hurt you. But it will come full circle, it's just these people can't bring themselves to accept defeat. They'll go down mumbling and shuffling like a child giving a fake apology to get what they want.
Trying to make male characters more feminine and females more masculine is a big step backwards in cinematic history. But definitely a proven formula to lose money at the box office and dedicated fans.

Henry is a real life superhero. He didn't play along with the destruction of a story. We can only hope more actors will come to their senses and leave the set in a second when pronouns are mentioned.
That’s not what happened tho? Henry left because the Rock offered him the opportunity to play Superman again, and these schedules would conflict. He just liked being Superman more than Geralt

I literally facepalmed when that bloke talked about associating disability with evil. I personally would NEVER have made that association, and it says more about the mindset of the Dr. Who writers than it does about anything else.
At this point, I think it could qualify as an honest to goodness mental illness the way some of these people think. It's really very weird and disconnected with actual reality.
Right!? It’s so ridiculous to change everything about an established character because you’re worried about portraying a disabled person as evil…as though the public will relate the two things 🤦🏼♀️ For one (as you said) no-one was thinking that anyway and for two, what’s wrong with thinking a disabled person is evil? Disabled people are just as varied in personality as anyone is…they’re just people who happen to have a disability. They have just as much ability and potential to be evil as anybody does. To think they don’t have that capacity says more about the writers than the public as you pointed out
Absolutely nobody would've associated disability with evil!?!? These writers are their own worse enemy, they invent these ideas of association in their pathetic little minds and believe them!! With the new age of liberal lefty writers coming through can you even imagine what movies are gonna be like in 10-20 years time?!? 🤦🤦.

love the misquote lol he never said that. He said he enjoyed how geralt looked in the netflix show and that like with Viggo Mortensen portrayal of Aragorn people will only picture cavil when they think of geralt now. Exact quote is "“I was more than happy with Henry Cavill’s appearance as The Witcher,” Sapkowski explained via email. “He’s a real professional. Just as Viggo Mortensen gave his face to Aragorn [in The Lord of the Rings], so Henry gave his to Geralt - and it shall be forever so.”

For my entire life, I've lived in L.A., a place where every third person works in some capacity in the TV/motion picture industry. Suffice it to say, their world is built on a foundation of fantasy that serves to foster the delusion that they are special and that, because they can read a script, they are morally superior and infinitely more intelligent than the rest of us. By and large, a vast majority of them are elitist snobs who are over-indulged, over-paid, and catered-to. There are exceptions, but, sadly, those are few and far between.
@@darthtepes I was thinking you could throw in an audience PoV character like a woman just introduced to the coven or a man who has some kind of relation to one of the witches and has intimate knowledge of them and make it a show about his attempts to either survive attacks from or overthrow the witch order
One of the things really annoys me about this is it's so shallow and money grabbing. They're not making these changes because they genuinely care about women and minorities and want to represent them in the media. Deleting the male main character's plot from an existing IP and slapping a formulaic girlboss plot on it is cheaper and easier than writing a decent original story.
Not to mention it pollutes the market for future female led stories. Getting trained to resent women in power by shows where women use power badly is a set back for gender equality, not the other way around.

Yes, cause it's obvious those characters, even though they were disabled, they for sure weren't incapable of being awesome characters, by refusing to leave Davros as he was, they actually make more offensive statement by showing disabled people they shouldn't be portrayed as a powerful character, but rather should be miserable and powerless, and that's disgusting

One of the pregens you can play is called "The Dark Urge" who is a serial killer with amnesia. Playing as this character constantly gives you the option to give in to your "dark urges", which are actions out of an episode or Dexter or Hannibal. I originally was baffled that Velma wasn’t included on this list, but that’s when I realized that Velma is literally unwatchable. At least a majority of the shows and movies on this list are watchable to a certain extent and considered “entertainment,” no matter how pandering. Velma is an encapsulation of everything horrible about the modern world we live in, meaning that it’s so bad that it’s less of show and more of means of physical and mental torture, made by hateful people. Because of that, I think it’s best that it’s left completely forgotten about.
i honestly cant get why anyone thought Velma was a good idea. There are 2 main groups of Scooby fans: adults who grew up watching it and kids who are it's current age demographic. The series is aimed at adult fans so that rules out the first half of their fan group and adult fans of the show are people who like the old versions of the show, like Scooby himself, and like the overall goofy, campy vibe of the old shows. Velma not only sharply deviates from the original but actively mocks the older fans of the show and goes out of its way to mock and deride men in general, white people in general, and especially cis white men. That makes little sense though since even if you're not white and not a cis male then you're unlikely to find the mockery towards white people and men very funny since the show doesnt even really do it in a humorous manner, they're just straight up mean spirited about it. Also it's doubly stupid since actively mocking and clowning fans of the original losses them _many_ if not _most_ of their potential fan base, and at least based off some common sense the series being originally a 60s and 70s animated american show that's still widely popular in the US you'd assume the fanbase is majority white. The series seems to be made to mainly pander to people who are not white, not cis male, who hate white people and/or cis males, and who dont like any past versions of Scooby Doo but are also not children... which cant exactly be a large market for an American adult animated series, especially considering most non-american viewers are likely to watch it mainly due to name recognition, ie fans of past Scooby shows.
Velma just isn't big enough. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Dr Who these were beloved huge IPs. Velma is horrid, but it's not likely to affect Scooby Doo even if some normal human wanted to do something with it. Velma is inconsequential.

But I'm almost certain that effectively being in a wheelchair wasn't associated with being evil, it was being half unfeeling killing machine that probably did. In fact, most handicapped characters these days are treated like angels, as if they can do wrong. Even when their disability in question varies from physical to mental and congenital to acquired. It's refreshing then when characters with these traits are treated equally. Like the Family Guy Down Syndrome Girl episode-.
I successfully avoided watching any of these disasters thanks to yourself and many of those you have on your channel. Voting with my time and my dollar and these got neither!
For a guy who constantly said he didn't want to reprise his roles because the story was done, Harrison Ford really jumped back in for one movie, for each character, with the express intent of destroying said character.
He always said he didn't want to return to Star Wars i never saw any interview he didn't want to go back to Indiana, also Star Wars he is not the main actor, in Indiana he is the star
Holy crap Pierry is on fire tonight with the background audio. So many soundtracks to amazingly good video games transposed against all of the garbage films and videos. It was honestly kind of wonderful.
Honorable mention, Willow, Batgirl and Thelma. Willow is shelved never to be seen again and Batgirl never was seen, so they definitely deserve a mention.
@@shawnmurphy9245 Willow was so painful to watch. I wanted to focus what happened and Disney wanted to promote gay relationships and anything but the story. Disney ruined a potentially great story with 'wokism'
Thank you for making this channel. As someone who used to go to the movies 3 times a week, to someone who never goes to the movies, or watches anything current and spends his days re-watching things from the pre-woke era, or searching for hidden gems of the past i've never seen, sometimes the people around me feel like im crazy.
It's really sad how until around a decade ago or so, it seemed liked Disney could make every movie look magical and enchanting or relatable to the target audience. Now a lot of what they make only have mildly interesting trailers then turn out to be dumpster fires. Looks like them buying almost all of their competition in the past turned out bad for the general audience.
In the movie section, most of it has been flushed out now. 2024 is going to be a record profit year for the company. You can look at the upcoming films. If they are DEI garbage, they are hiding it better.
@@joelwillems4081 yea I dont agree. That echo show that just came out in 2024 was more woke garbage and the lady they just hired for the next star wars films is literally an activist.
7:05 - As someone with physical disabilities, I am outright offended that they're saying someone who is in a wheelchair couldn't be the big evil boss. What, we're not functional enough to rise to be the evil leader? Those of us with physical disabilities have just as much capacity in us for evil as anyone else, and we would have the ability to rise to be the evil leader. These guys go so very overly woke that it actually becomes insulative. Don't try and pander to me and insult my intelligence by telling me I couldn't be the evil boss, just because I've got physical disabilities.
Actually Elijah Price, played by Samuel L. Jackson on the movie unbreakable is on a wheelchair, and he is the main villain. It was a good villain. Anyone can be a super hero or a super villain, its matter of building a good story. The way it should be done its something like this: "So there is this great story, this guy is a villain and it happens to be x or y", instead of "because the person is x or y, therefore should be on the lead, then we write a story around it." The secret is in the approach to the character.
i agree a disabled could be good, bad, smart or an asshole, thinking otherwise it means you don't consider them people but a kind of "angels" and that's discriminatory
Don't forget Wheel of Time. Source material with strong female characters and a variety of races, but the producers still manage to miss the entire point.
Amazon is a clown factory. They had a great series with reacher, season 2 reacher is not the main character, he’s not smart, he’s not calculated, he’s dumb, and the girls clean up after the big dummy, while condescending to him.
My biggest disappointment was the strikes ending. It was actually nice not to see or hear these narcissists. Not like I watch any modern day television anyway.
