Only reason why Edmonton was so dominant in the 80s is bc of an allstar roster it seemed like the NHL really favored the oilers at that time compared to the other teams from the WHA that merged lol

Once the regular season ended, the North Stars squeaked into the playoffs as the four seed in the Norris Division, and they proceeded to defeat Chicago, Detroit and Edmonton before running into Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Finals.
