I can say that right now, my Shadow Machamps and Shadow Mamoswines are by far the most useful Pokemon. They are top-tier in so many raid situations, can be used for Rockets, and have use in PvP too.
I’m a new player, returning after only playing the first couple months of pogo and I just wanna say your videos have been helping me SO much! can’t wait for the budget video
got my lucario, favorite Pokémon btw, from a guaranteed lucky trade back in 2019 and then basically stopped playing till a few weeks ago. Was shocked to see it had Aura Sphere when I logged back in and am so hyped that it is an actually good Pokémon for raiding now.
A half hour very well spent. Thanks for the list and the explanations that went along with it. It is obvious you spent a LOT longer than thirty minutes on this.
Happy New Year, Lucky! Also, thank you for this update vid on which Pokémon to power up! Hopefully we’ll get great raids in Feburary and new Pokémon great for PvP and raids! :D
Great video! Found this extremely helpful as I was unsure on where to spend my stardust. I think it’s funny how other types have many good Pokémon like Reshiram, Mega Charizard-Y, and Entei; gets to the psychic type also known as Mewtwo lol.
Little correction: we have both Mega Charizard X and Mega Altaria as dragon type megas. In terms of DPS/TDO they can't really hold the candle to Rayquaza or the others but they are good for support roles in raids. Also, could've mentioned Zacian in the fairy type, it is reasonably good. But anyway, pretty good list.
Thanks for the awesome video. Just wanted to point out that gust is a legacy move from the first ever go battle day in 2020 14:08. Also, at 28:59 you said that we don't have any mega dragon but we actually have 3 of them (mega charizard X, mega ampharos and mega altaria). I know they are useless against mega rayquaza but until we get it, these three can do the job. Especially when mega charizard X and mega altaria don't thake super effective damage from other dragon types thanks to their fire and fairy sub typing respectively.
You have just a little bit of false info in here, you can get XL candy starting at level 30 (or 31)! however, you can't fully power up a Pokémon to level 50 until your trainer level is level 40, you gain access to each level from 41- to 50 as you level up from 31-40.
I would reccomend building teams of three. The difference between nr 1-5 top attackers for one type is often so small. Also i rarely find myself needing all 6 pokemon.
Dont waste your elite charged tm, since this video was posted bulbasaur comm day has been announced & evolving to Venusaur on the day will learn the move frenzy plant.
I hope in your shadow video you explain the IVs because I never get high IVs or even low IVs that would work in the PVP (low atk, high defense & hp). So I find it hard to figure out what shadows are worth powering or even keeping. Also, with megas would you mega evolve ones ur using in the GBL or save it solely for ones used in raids?
Yes, I will explain everything in that video. You can also watch my previous version from 2021, which should help answer some of your questions in the meantime. I don't think I understand your question about the megas, could you give me an example?

Eeveelutions are my number one of each type ;) Edit to add: My rock Team is a dinosaur/fosil team. Dosent matter If their good. The 7 year old boy in me wanted a Dino team
For dragons my best were Latios and Salamence but I only had one of each at cp3200...then Dratini Community Day came along. Now I have a team of 6 Dragonite above cp2900 with two at cp3400.
Question out of curiosity, let's say an event comes up that makes Slaking learn Scratch instead of Yawn when evolved from Vigoroth during said event, what good would that do for Slaking?
Considering it's a normal type, I don't think it would help all that much in the raid/gym meta, but it would make it a significantly better gym defender.
I'm having a hard time trying to decide which Pokémon to put as your follower, I have Shadow Charmeleon right now but I also got a Hundo Galarian Darumaka. I also watched your max Pokémon on a budget list and since I'm relatively new I was thinking Timburr... thoughts?
Generally speaking, shadow Pokemon with bad IVs. Although, it's not so black and white. Base stats are the most important factor on any Pokemon, followed by potential shadow boost and then IVs.
Hi LB! Out of curiosity, do you have a rough guess on when Reshiram might come back? Like are Legendary's on a year rotation or something, or is it pretty much up in the air?
I like your videos but you talk so very fast!! I'm intrested in the best moves for each of these pokemons. Some I already know and have. But would like if you can link to a good site that I can read about the best movesets. Ty for a really informative video 👌
Great video but I'm surprised you didn't mention scared sword terrakion for fighting types, even without a fighting fast move it probably should have made the list
I've built teams of 6 for every typing like you said, they are all lvl 30. and now I'm wondering if I should power the ones with high DPS^3*TDO to lvl 40 or power all to lvl 35. Which do you think is a better option to the future?
I would start building out uniques to L35 and then L40, starting with the highest DPS^3 * TDO options first. Then building duplicates after if you have the extra resources and want the additional damage. For example, my fire type team consists of L50 Mega Charizard Y + L40 Shadow Apex Ho-Oh, Reshiram, Darmanitan, Shadow Moltres, and Entei. This is a pretty strong team, but it could still be improved on; I also know something better will come along in the future.
slips into shadows...... never seen or heard of most if not all of these. How do you even come across these? guess im stuck with common budget? stuff..
Is chandelure still worth powering up as a fire type attacker. I have a good iv and am planing on powering it up as both a fire type and a ghost type attacker.
May have already been asked but where do you make the teams for each type? I've made a few in the raid teams section but it won't let me make any more 😬
Open your main menu and select Battle. At the top of your screen you should see two tabs: BATTLE and PARTY. Go to PARTY and then scroll down until you see GYMS & RAIDS. I'm not sure if there is a limit on how many parties you can save here but I have at least 7 or 8 and can still add more..
I'm confused on which of my Mewtwos to focus on. I was investing on the one with Psystrike but that is 91% IV only (it's L33 now). Should I instead use an elite tm on my L21 96% Mewtwo and shift focus on that? None of those have 15 attack, my 15 attacks are 89% 15/13/12 L20 and 82% 15/10/12 L20. My shadows are not good 6/9/15 and 12/14/6.
Let me break things down in terms of importance. Base stats + Potential shadow boost + IVs Instead of focusing on 1 Mewtwo, I would focus on getting a few up to L30 before getting 1 up to L40. So in order of importance, focus on both of your shadow Mewtwo first. I would not use an Elite TM on the regular, just get them to L30 and hold off until Psystrike comes back into rotation. The only ones worth the Elite TM are the shadows, unless you get a 100% regular.
Yeah, I think it would be. Normally, without STAB for the fast move, it's harder to determine where it stands, because Shadow Claw or Lick might not hit as hard against the opposing Pokemon. In this case though, Mega Gengar is so powerful that it actually makes up for not having a poison type fast move. Thanks for the comment, gonna probably add Sludge Bomb as my 2nd charge move on my Mega Gengar now.
