Screw the global peace index, Latvia should be higher, my entire life living there I never even witnessed or experienced petty crime even when I walk in public places alone as a kid with utility literally sticking out my backpack, never got pickpocketed and DEFINITELY never witnessed or barely ever heard of violent crime
