Honestly I love it when someone who isn't a Brony talks about FIM with the respect you do. It's just really refreshing to hear it praised and criticised so respectfully without the rose tinted glasses that the fandom members wear or the blind hate some people who haven't watched/are sick of the over exposure will throw at it. Thank you
+Midnight Harmony I can 100% agree to you and to PhantomStrider about how best is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because there's two ruthless and savage and mean kids at high school which I go to high school and this other was like how watches My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic but then I was all like everybody in different countries does but for the intro of the show is the best too!
*Rant Time* It just makes me sick when I see people insulting others for their opinions. When will people accept opinions and not criticize others for theirs? Unsubbing for an opinion you don't agree on is just messed up. All fandoms have a dark side to them, but can also have positives. Also, a fandom does not reflect the quality of a show anyways, so why even say a show is bad because of it's fandom? I just had to get this off my chest. Anyways, have a great night!
I would say My little Pony is... generally non-violent, but they do have an occasion to put the smack down when needed. Heck, the second episode of season one Rarity back kicks a Manticore in the face.
That was me in first grade. And my friend told me the day after I was sick at school that we watched The Magic School Bus in science. I was surprised because, well, I'm in 7th grade
Blue Dj Tom and Jerry was aimed at adults, though. In fact, back then, ALL animation was aimed at adults. Cartoons for kids were invented during the transition from movie theatres to television.
Well, A Canterlot Wedding was an okay episode, but I find it a little off. How you may ask? I just hate the part where all of Twilight's friends turn against her for not believing it was Queen Chrysalis in disguise. I find it way too harsh. Celestia and Shining armor didn't even apologize for it which makes it even worse. But it did have a great ending, however, I find this episode to be a 4/10.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is my most favorite show of all time. I love the characters, animation and storylines. It has had a huge impact on my life. I’ll always keep it in a special place in my heart. I don’t care if the world forgets about it. I’ll never forget this wonderful show.
MLP accomplished what Winx Club tried to do since 2004, but Winx Club failed when it got revived with Nickelodeon, due to the childish tone, terrible writing, forgettable characters, and spells that are stale and not as unstoppable as the commercials promised. MLP actually managed to keep the complex character development, yet treat its younger viewers with dignity and respect as people.
Same. So many of the songs in the show are epic too. The harmonies and everything. I don’t care if I get spat on or called a brony for liking this show. It’s called I have an opinion
I had A Blue plushie! :D I loved the show and was disappointed when... what's his name.. steve? I was disappointed when he left and replaced with somebody called joe (i think...)
I really appreciate that you are able to compliment mlp without being a brony yourself. I find so many people that either love it or despise it with all their being. That alone would make me subscribe if I wasn't already! Good job!
Maybe it's aimed at slightly older kids (although I'd say it's still the same age range as Spongebob, MLP, and Magic School Bus), but what about Wild Kratts? It's intelligent, sometimes funny, and while kids can understand it and retain the information, adults can enjoy it and pick up fun facts too.
Pablo has the most villainous personas ever: He was an evil pirate, a supervillain, a skilled ping-pong bandit, a soccer monster, a master of disguise.
I'm perfectly okay that people don't like MLP, but it really bugs me when people discriminate fandoms. I've noticed quite a bit of controversy between bronies and anti-bronies. We don't see people sending death threats to Potterheads or Gravity Falls fans, so why should this be any different? I've heard someone pushed a brony to the brink of suicide, and why? Not because he committed a crime, no. Way worse. Because all the dude wanted was to enjoy a show that inspired him. But then, the community stepped in and helped him get back on his "hooves." How can anyone pick on such "autistic girls?" Again, I understand if people don't like the show, but does it really mean we should hurt those who like it? It's just a television show that friends and family of *all ages* can enjoy, right?
Do you hear that?.. it's the sound of silence my friend :3 no argument here.. "hopefully me addressing this does not cause it though it likely will because of the logic of some people."
I can't believe how many people are still triggered with that "brony" thing! You think people would've matured and understood that this was his opinion. He states that in every video!
When I first watched mlp, I was really surprised.. How can a kids show can be so fantastic, filled with actual adventures and the idea about cutie marks are so amazing! It's like telling kids there are various kinds of talents and people with different personalities! And I can't believe every single episodes are really fun! Most cartoons can be fall off with some plots but this one...it's just so amazing
Kubark CZ I thought you were responding to me along with that other person. My brain died and I had to re-watch to make sure the fabric of reality wasn't warping.
It's so refreshing hearing someone PRAISE MLP instead of just calling it terrible, embarrassing, cringey, etc. I love MLP unironically, it makes me smile and I genuinely enjoy episodes.
Possum Boy Ikr but I don't blame some people I thought mlp was a crappy girls show at first but then my cousin showed me the first episode and I got HOOKED people should really WATCH the show before judging it there's a reason it has such a large following after all
Seriously? People hating on MLP just because there's a few creeps in the fandom? That's seriously retarded. It's fucking 2017 and people are still calling the show and it's fans cancerous. People need to get the fuck over it and see the show for what it is. It teaches great lessons, morals, and is one of the best reboots on tv at the moment. If you don't like the show, it's fine, but don't hate it because a few neck beards on the internet "ruined" it for you. I grew out of the show for the most part and moved to other things, but I still watch from time to time. It's just annoying that people STILL trash the show because of a few crazy fans. It goes to show have far we need to come as a society.
It's the exact same thing with the Steven Universe haters. A sad world we live in when people can't tolerate others opinions, and it's likely to never change anytime soon....
Reckno64 Yeah, not to mention how immature these haters are. Like seriously, why do they care so much what you watch ob television? It doesn't even matter but they make it a big deal for what? It's one thing it to like it but to harass and bully someone for a show? Stupid. I watch Steven Universe too and people do the same thing. It's sad.
Those creeps exist in every fandom. The only reason MLP gets so much hate about it because it's an American-made cartoon aimed at kids, so it's more accessible to the non-fans. They're also working with the stigma that MLP is only supposed to be for "little girls", thus young adult men *aren't allowed* to like it because of some taboo. My mom constantly tries to guilt me for liking "kids shows", but what's wrong with liking something with a good story, imagination, and someone isn't constantly dying? I grew up with the idea that anyone could be a hero if they tried hard enough, why would I want to stop believing in that?
Yeah XD They can't think of anything good. At least a few people here are explaining that they personally don't like it... But most are just saying "It sucks" and giving no reason.
This isn't an opinion. If you don't like someone's opinion, you should not comment it. It will make things worse. Please don't hate someone for posting an opinion you think is wrong. Thank you for reading this.
Backyardigains was my show when I was little and I still watch it because it’s so fun and light hearted. Honestly, I don’t see a lot of shows like it anymore. The imagination the show had is what needs to be in kids shows today.❤️
squid bear "who fill the computer with MLP crossovers and crap!!" Every fandom produces content. As the biggest fandom, we produce the most content. It's not just the same person spamming low quality pony crossovers everywhere 24/7. All fandoms do this, but I don't see you complaining about them.
Food Frogs They are a bit excessive (found a batter pony looking for my steam profile picture when googling "the batter sprite off" but i mean google images also gives you fetish art if you look up spooky ghost so whatever
Not seen every cartoon on this list, but I would add a few to it. 1. Octonauts. It's a brilliant little cartoon, educational and entertaining, with a rich cast of characters and a kick-ass theme tune. 2. Pocoyo. It's kinda trippy, but it's intelligent and frequently hilarious, and teaches life lessons without being patronising. 3. Transformers: Rescue Bots. An often overlooked gem, it has comparatively simple plots and animations, and relies a little too much on character cliches at times, but it covers a lot of the same ground as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
BrainComm487 YES SOMEONE FINALLY TALKS ABOUT OCTONAUTS! I absolutely ADORED that show when I was 6 to maybe 8 years old,it made me learn so much about the sea,and gave me my interest in Orca whales and dolphins and just sea life in general! Ah...I remember when I was in kindergarten my friend brought a photo of her with a dolphin and I said happily "Oh! That's a bottlenose dolphin!" and she thought I was KIDDING! xD I do think the show is TERRIBLY underrated though, and needs much more attention ASAP! Also, random thing, recently I've been finding myself drawing Kwazii a lot,aND MY GOD IS HE FUN TO DRAW. He was my favourite when I was young, and still is now! Heck,I actually kind of liked him,and thus he was my first crush. But yeah,Octonauts needs be noticed more definitely, and I hope that someday I'll see it come up on a list like this on the channel!
Everyone has their own opinions, but you cannot deny that Tom and Jerry (1940s-1950s) is the greatest cartoon of all time. At least it's my favourite, just sayin'.
I honestly like _Looney Toons_ more. Mainly because it has a nice mix of memorable characters. Whereas the classic Tom And Jerry cartoons mostly focus on those two characters only.
Tom and Jerry wasn't exactly marketed for kids. In fact, it was more or less marketed for everyone back in the 40's. But yes, I agree on it being one of the greatest cartoons of all time.
Howdy! Was planning worst religious cartoons next but feel free to mention your own suggestions :) A: Worst Religious Cartoons B: Best Kids Shows C: Worst Animes D: Worst Kids Shows (Live Action)
Last year (2016 for me) I was going through some depression because of lack of friends (I was homeschooled so I didn't have the chance to make friends) and one day after hearing so much hate on MLP I decided to watch it. I watched the first two episodes then, a couple months later I decided to watch the third episode and I got hooked. I've been happy ever since. So I can agree with you about MLP changing your life.
DO RH same here in 5th grade I felt very suicidal because of things going on at home (mom being depressed) and at school (getting sexually harassed by best friend) I found the only way I could cope was to be a kid and have fun I'd play with lps and watch mlp and that's a big part of why I'm still here Thank you MLP
Just recently i re-watched Season 1-3 of Spongebob as well as the first movie. I can't describe how incredible it was to re-watch my favorite cartoon series all over again as an adult. It just amazed me not only by how funny the show is, but how likable and relatable everyone is ...and even though I watched the first movie to death as a kid, i teared up towards the end when Spongebob and Patrick were being baked by the lamp. Ever since i stopped watching Spongebob (around 2007 i think), i struggled with depression, anxiety, and was generally miserable for years. Normally that scene seems like a silly character death, but after rewatching the first 3 seasons and a decade of being a miserable little bastard, seeing someone i felt so close to die, knowing they accomplished _something_, was almost unbearable for me
Pizzario Yeah, I remember the second movie, Sponge Out if Water, was awful. The only reason I watched it because it was free with Amazon Prime... and after watching that abomination I understood why
Literally Seasons 1-3 are freaking classic and great, so is the movie, I think what's great is that everyone who grew up with those seasons know everything and everyone gets the references and it makes for some great times
Pizzario Actually, that was pretty good imo. Highly mismarketed, but good. And the original creator was brought in for it. You are talking about the theatrical sequel, right?
I watched Sponge Out of Water and cringed a lot with barely any laughs. I'd probably give it a 5/10. The 2004 movie, on the other hand, is honestly one of my favourite animations.
Hoo boy, the presence of My Little Pony on this list is going to bring about some interesting comments. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised that brony hate is still a thing after all this time. You'd think people would have moved on by now.
That might not be the reason. There could be plenty of reasons. The animation is average at best , Pinkie Pie is annoying as sin , 90% of the characters have one note personalities , almost all the songs are forgettable etc etc.
Jay Sherman You summed up exactly why I don't like the show. I don't really hate bronies at all, sure some of the fandom is annoying at times, I just don't like the show.
My little pony had epic ass kicking battles tbh, even without excess violence or blood, it still managed to make their battles epic! Never thought a show aimed for little girls would be appereciated by men women, no matter how old they are. While im not really into my little pony now, I still agree with Phanttom or Strider and im glad that you put it in top 1
What if Pablo was a Cuphead boss? He took on so many villainous personas that it seemed like he had multiple forms! The Ping-pong Bandit, the Soccer Monster, Professor Bug, Pabloinator, Mayor Stinkypants!
I'm sorry, Josh and all fans of _My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic_, I am not really a big fan of the show. While I love the animation quality of the show, I can not get into it. Not because of the Brony fan base or anything like that, it is just not my kind of show, really.
Also, honestly I prefer _Spongebob Squarepants_. To an extent, I like some of the newer seasons of SpongeBob! The only one that I absolutely DESPISE though is Season 6.
Seriously, Season 6 can go fall in a ditch. (Reference to Walking Small from Season 1 of SpongeBob.) Though, it is absolutely fine to like Season 6. Even though I hated the season as a whole, there were some episodes that I enjoyed.
This is actually the only list I've seen the Backyardigans in, and it's really a shame, because even today as the young adult I am..it's still so fantastic. Shame that Viacom wants us to forget it ever existed, though.
I'm in sixth grade, and the class I have, still enjoys watching "The Magic School Bus"! Infact, when the teacher says that she is going to play a video, they ask if it's the magic School bus, and usually it is. They love it! Definitely a really good show.
I can understand why people don't like mlp, I can't understand why people get mad that others like it. I was kinda young when i first started watching friendship is magic and i grew up with it. It has a very detailed, interesting world thats full of surprises and lessons that go beyond "be nice to people" and "dont take whats not yours" they treat young viewers with lessons that are meaningful and in a way thats very interesting. Its nice to see the comment section being kinda tame about this and no ones losing their shit. Mlp is a really good kids cartoon that some older viewers get enjoyment out of too :0
As I've said, people mostly hated it because of the fandom behind it. The show itself, they didn't really care either way, but the fandom was what they hated.
Skull Grunt I still don't get why people think that. Well, I do, but it makes me sad, really. All you're doing is focusing on the absolute worst the fandom has to offer (cloppers and obsessed neckbeards), and saying "See these people? You're just like them." when that's not true at all. I won't deny that the fandom has a ton of issues (I personally don't care much for it myself), but that's what happens when something gets that big. You're going to have some pretty scummy people hop in and ruin it for everyone else. You can hate the retards of the fandom, but you can't deny that they've done some great things.
I only dropped a like on this because Sofia the First in on here(I'm a 15 year old boy) And the only problem(for me personally) is that I really don't like honey. It's always been too sweet for me. And another thing! Why the hell do people complain about shows/movies/video games they hate when they could be watching show/movies or playing video games they LIKE?!
OMG, is this a coincidence!? , I actually liked Sofia the First as well, and I'm also a 15 year old boy, and I also dropped a like because Sofia was on here! I knew coincidences were real :D
I used to watch My little pony and Now That I've moved onto Animes like Black Butler, I don't watch it as much but I'll still love it and I'll Never Hate it! 💖💖
Oh yeah! i couldn't agree more than that cause todays MLP is the best of all time. Even better than the other MLP generations. I watch the series every day! ^_^
@@Sanjaygupta-by4lt I did watch the old show in excitement because I was a kid and I loved ponies. Still, I would also agree on this, since comparing the old Versions to the FIM version makes it obvious, that they did well this time... just sad that it's over
i loved that show *so much* , it didn't treat kids like idiots; it used larger words, and said what they meant. it was full of imagination, heck most of it was about imagination! aaa i love it.
I loved that cartoon. In fact, it's my 2nd favorite cartoon of all time, behind Fetch with Ruff Ruffman. Like if you remember that cartoon of godlike learning and hilarity mixed up together perfectly.
February - I'm looking forward to seeing a new generation enjoy magic school bus as much as I did! **8 MONTHS LATER** October - This is not a Netflix reboot, this is a war crime.
here's my top 6 best cartoons of all time list: 6.pinky and brain 5.hey arnold 4.the earlier version of the simpsons 3.animaniacs 2.seasons 1-3 of spongebob 1.south park
Honestly, I really like Sofia the first. When I was 15 and babysitting my niece, I started watching it with her, and then after she fell asleep I kept watching. It's such a charming kids show.
*sees MLP at number 1* Oh, yeah. I totally agree. Also, Sofia The First is amazing. Perhaps one of the best Disney Junior cartoons, in my humble opinion.
Mr AJ Yeah they all deserve love except Flurry Hearts... Too many parallels to Frozen in that one episode. She shattered the Crystal Heart and the threat of Equastria becoming a frozen wasteland... Yeah MLP is retelling their own version of Frozen and Muffins (aka Derpy Hooves) is the new Olaf the retarded snowman! lol JK! I actually like Derpy! Edit: shattering the Crystal Heart is the MLP equivalent of Elsa freezing Anna's heart and the fact Flurry Hearts cannot control her powers, and the fact she is the first to be born an alicorn and not earn it, plus her name *Flurry* Hearts! Gives off that Snow Queen vibe, right?
I've lost faith in humanity seeing this flame war in the comments. I can see why people dislike MLP, but I can see why people like it, too. Let me just remind everyone it's a *cartoon*. I'm seeing people provoke the bronies, but at the same time the bronies are attacking unprovoked. Try not to get triggered easily.
I hate it because it stereotypes unicorns by making them incorrect to what the really are, unicorns are not colorful they are basically normal horses with horns.
Dang, I have sisters 9 and 10 years younger than me so when I was a teenager I had to watch Backyardigans and like...thank God other people recognize it was a good show cause I legitimately enjoyed it.
Your dislike for Scooby Doo and topping of Invader Zim over Avatar are all easily forgiven by the unadulterated praise you give My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. You have no idea how refreshing it is to hear positive things about the show from someone on RU-vid. More often than not people are bashing the hell out of it to jump on the hate bandwagon or, at best, are saying that they don't watch the show and can't say anything good or bad. So to hear the show finally get the praise and recognition it deserves for its great characters and storytelling is a breath of fresh air.
Well still, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is nothing compared to PhantomStrider's top favourite Nickelodeon shows, but its Italian theme song is comparable in terms of strong quality.
Melody Heart swirl Yeah, but a lot of people simply bash the show for what it is. They don’t watch it, they don’t know a single thing about it, all they know is that it has a fandom that isn’t exactly....decent. At all, if I’m being honest. Having an opinion and joining on a bandwagon of one thought about something is entirely different.
I agree. But I wouldn’t put them on the list is cause this is for more little kids shows. And Avatar while may being (kinda) aimed at that demographic is really not a little kids show
Haters think the MLP community reflects the show, which is wrong. MLP looks actually like a good show to watch, but I have to admit that some bronies can be creeps...
Pokemon fans can be creeps sometimes. (eey gardevoir?) Anime fans can be creeps sometimes. (loli?) And yeah, MLP fans can be creeps sometimes. Pokemon, Anime and MLP are still excellent, and sometimes you get stuff like fanmade, well-crafted Pokemon hacks, amazing Anime video tributes and great MLP art and content. That's just how fandoms roll.
You're right about that. A couple years ago, an obsessed fan of the young character Apple Bloom tried to kidnap the voice actress (who's only a young woman) while at BronyCon. Made headlines in the community. Just goes to show that, as you said, some bronies are a bit extreme and total creeps while those, like myself, are anything but that. Yet, sadly, it's these creeps and what they spread over the internet that create a stereotype for all of us. :(
You seem to be missing my point. :/ For starters, I wasn't pointing my finger directly at pedophiles. If I was doing such a thing I would've made that very clear. I was merely using that as an example of some of the bronies that make a stereotype for the majority. As for, what is that porn stuff..."clop", I agree it's kinda...meh. I only know about it because I got some friends that are into it themselves, not to mention it seems to be everywhere so it's kinda unavoidable. It's shit like this that ruined Crash Bandicoot for me. Sick people doing sick things with characters that don't deserve this sort of treatment. Next time, try bein' a little more open-minded. The world becomes a much better place when you do so.
6: Rugrats (Early Seasons) 5: Backyardigans (2004) 4: The Magic School Bus (1994) 3: Sofia the First (2012) 2: SpongeBob (Early Seasons) Honourable Mentions: Doc McStuffins (2012) Harvey Beaks (2015) Puffin Rock (2015) Thomas and Friends (1984) 1: MLP: Friendship is Magic (2010) *You're Welcome*
Some people can't stand the fact that other people like something they don't like. It's primary school logic. Where kids get beaten up for being different.
Great list, Strider, and thanks for giving your thoughts on My Little Pony. I'm glad a non-Brony with some decent influence can go out of his way to give MLP the praise it deserves. It means a lot to me, as a Brony and as a lover of quality animation. Thank you. :)
LightningSword Studios I would be lying if i said wasnt disappointed to see that Mlp ranked higher on this list than the first 3 seasons of Spongebob. I also would be ranting. I have been drained.
Howdy Phantom Strider, here are some recommendations for future top 10s: top 10 best The amazing world of Gumball episodes top 10 worst sitcom charters top 10 best Farscape episodes top 10 worst theme songs to good shows top 10 best theme songs to worst shows top 10 worst live action shows
Casual CraftMan Top 10 worst live action shows: Definitely Two and a Half Men. Honestly, that garbage needs to be removed from TV and any copies of it burned immediately.
Casual CraftMan Top 10 Worst Themes to Good Shows? If he does that list, what are the chances that the Captain Planet season 6 theme will be on there? Mr. Enter missed an opportunity to reference PhantomStrider and Captain Planet in his Almost Naked Animals review. Do we need to summon the Mega Mac Daddy of Ecology to stop Noah Z. Jones?
As of right now Strider, MLP has gotten very extraordinary and amazing after seeing the perfect animation and heartwarming moments after watching the last 4 seasons
