ArunaskaPlays yep, I was thinking that while trying Virginia International Raceway yesterday..... the amount of work and dedication to details is pretty incredible.....like what's the first step, where's the base data from, etc.
Gamer Muscle has to be one of the greatest sim racing channels on RU-vid! Such a great presenter, always top quality videos and never fails to say something hilarious inbetween! Loving the content!
"It makes you feel like you're on real bit of tarmac that's had vehicles and the occasional drivers face being pummelled into it" OOF that got dark quick!
I live in Tasmania (Aust) , home of Longford. It’s remarkable how they’ve nailed the “feel” of the town & the surrounding area of the track. All the period correct cars & spectators adds greatly to the immersion factor. Congrats to the modder for a job well done! 👍🏼👍🏼
When you said that Donington Park used to be where you lived I just imagined you sleeping rough next to the track while the entire BTCC field blasts past.
Some of the lesser known club tracks that are very well made and good fun with smaller cars like the Lotus 2-Eleven or KTM; - LuccaRing's a real road fictional track that has great scenery and immersion. - Tocancipa and Tor Poznan - both flat but they have a real track day feel. - Okayama - Yes it's the legendarily slow TI Aida from the Pacific Gp but it's very impressive technically.
My favorite mod track for asetto corsa is bathurst. also from the land down under :) many corners, angry walls and uphill/downhill section. must recommend for people who likes tracks like Nordschleife and such demanding tracks.
Again an amazing video. I think the sim community should crowd fund to send you to all the tracks in AC and have you actually drive a real race car on each track and get all of your first person comments. That would be cool. Kind of like a pilgrimige
Thank you for the list, really like your channel content. A track I'm really enjoying to drive is the Algarve international circuit which is actually a few km of my house, I've sure you'll like to. Just start playing assetto corsa for a few day's and I'm loving it. Keep racing 🤘
Thanks :) , Algarve track is awsome so crazy and hilly , its in Pcars 2 and R3E not tried it in AC will have to have a look ! I cannot wait to visit Portugal at some point I really want to canoe the sea in the south :)
Good video. The Donington track in GTR2 was pretty good though - we had access to a very good 3D CAD model provided by the circuit owners as part of the license. Not quite a laser scan, but close - they claimed something like 5mm accuracy.
Great stuff. Bathurst in NSW Australia is also fantastic. Go through the mountain section at sunset, with crepuscular rays glinting through the trees thanks to Sol, and it's just fantastic. I've driven round it in real life, in a Ford Explorer, being careful not to break the public road speed limits although I did get the tyres to squeal once or twice.
I love Road America. I got to drive it this year on a liter bike. It's crazy fast and so fun. Going back next year for sure. Glad to see it on this list.
Longford is also Australia this time Tasmania. Held a number of Australian Grand Prix back in the day. The Boags beer sign outside the pub is a nice touch
Great list. But would replace Paul Ricard (boring track) and Road America (just never liked this track) with two favorites Lake Louise (like really, how did you forget this one) and Circuit Mas Du Clos (another amazing track no longer in existence)
As you say around 3:00, some mods are superior to the factory tracks....... I'm pretty much new at this, but I came across Virginia International Raceway....... just awesome, and generous. Part of my career was drafting and design with AutoCAD in civil engineering/land surveying, and 3D Studio for visualization for aviation electronics. I'm really curious about how the track-making process starts....... there's no question it's a major undertaking way beyond converting terrain data and sticking textures on it :) Good channel, man. Thanks for the excellence.
Great video and hilarious commentary! Great job mixing an indepth review with a bit of comedy here and there. I think you've nailed it on the head with your discourse on how a subtlety like well done grass pulls your brain into the sim.
Worth mentioning that the track shown at the very start and the very end of the video is the amazing scratch built historical recreation of Riverside by LilSki. IMHO surely belongs in this list over some of the R-Factor conversions like Road America. This is up there with Donnington and Paul Ricard in terms of its quality and is incredibly fun to drive.
THE BALANCE WILL BE RESTORED ! You are indeed correct , I'll be sure to address this in a future video I had a random technical issue which is why the awsome Riverside is shown at start and end but not put in the top 6.
I love the flow in Donnington... LA Canyons, Lake Louise, Deutchlandring, Feldbergring, Fonteny, Thomson Road Grand Prix anything SIMTRAXX Are all worth checking out... All available on RaceDepartment
I live near Longford and the mountains on this mod look really accurate!! A fair bit of it is still recognisable but its definitely a bit different now!
Living near Longford, I can tell you that it really hasn't changed all that much haha! Still very much a rural place with older fencing, power lines etc etc.
One of my all time favorites is Hockenheim... but the OLD one... before they destroyed it turning it into a kart track.... also a very good download mod for AC.... and Bathurst, Spa '92 ofc...
I recommend adding Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport if you make another one of these videos, which I think you should do because the comments are full of suggestions. The fan made version of Mosport in AC is modeled after when the circuit had grass runoffs rather than the concrete that is there now.
Love your vids mate.. I used to work at Barbagallo for 5 years doing the groundskeeping/maintenance and get free track time racing/drifting my old 13bt extend port fc rx7.. ah the good ol days :)
lol. Already Subscribed several Liked videos ago. I must say I like your banter - your obsession with grass notwithstanding. (I like it too but it doesn't seem to do anything for me anymore. :-( ) I chuckled when you said sorry to another car at Road America and said something about missing or needing some tea. The way you slowed down your chatting, but not your driving, you reminded me of Martin Brundle. (Maybe do a mock grid walk video and beg for interviews like he does lol.) Your dig at Australia made me laugh but nothing about Canada eh! Now to see if you've made a video about must have AC apps/utilities...
I've downloaded the le manns with no chcaine and i drive 2014 audi r18 e- tron Quattro which has a tesla roadster engine and is tuned with s top speed of 806 kmph . I did a 2.26 minutes with keyboard. It's fun to drive against porsche 919 which goes over 660 kmph.
lonford track was in Tasmania, Australia ( still there, just not a circuit anymore) they hold a Longford Revival there where they close the roads and recreate the racing i live in Tassie and yet to got to one yet lol
The first track looks great. The Macau gp track looks awesome in Assetto. I was hoping that slightly mad studios were going to stick the Macau gp in project cars 2. I love watching the gt3 onboard footage at Macau. With the tightness of the track and barriers so close to the drivers it makes it look like theyre travelling at warp speed. Has anyone done a Highlands 101 mod ? That looks like a great track to race on. Seen some awesome onboard footage of Shane van Gisbergen driving the McLaren 650s gt3 on that track.
All amazing tracks, to be sure. Well worth having a go, especially with the Grand Prix Legends mods. I'm pretty sure there's a Donington 1937 circuit somewhere for Assetto Corsa. Having said all that, it's just a crying shame that the console version of AC was a massive cop-out, with only a few circuits worth driving and only a maximum 16 car grid for each race. If I get round to getting a machine worthy of the PC game, I just might give it a whirl.
LilSki's other awesome tracks Riverside International Raceway - www.racedepartment.com/downloads/riverside-international-raceway.9492/ New Jersey Motorsports Park: Lightning - www.racedepartment.com/downloads/new-jersey-motorsports-park-lightning.14212/
Downloading em now. In regards to maxing the GFX for VR, are you happy with the 1070? I'm using a 970 and getting a solid 90fps but with quite reduced graphics
Donington exceeds the default games level of detail by miles, if you stay out long enough eurofighters fly past the track in formation and airliners too.
Disagree a bit with the list, in parts. LilSki stuff + Donington is great, but outside that.. Paul Ricard is flawless representation, but IRL the track is one of ugliest racetracks on planet. Barbagallo Raceway looks great, but the road physical mesh is kinda boring (no road feel). Road America is good track IRL but some of the visual work like mirrored trees is sloppy, when you compare to incredible detail to put into something like VIR. Would put VIR on top of list. Thomson Road GP, NJMP Lightning, Thruxton (requires separate updated AI line, though) and Shanghai Tianma Circuit, Tor Poznań (which is actually laser scanned). For drifting Zmeinka. For just great countryside scenery drive, Aspertsham. Fictional stuff Tajo Hillclimb, LuccaRing. But good thing of course that we can download all of them :-)
Yah I will certainly have to spend some more time on some of the other mod tracks and then do an ultimate video of all the tracks people should have in the game. This was more just the top 6 tracks that I have been enjoying I was sure I have missed some !
Is there another VIR mod, or we speaking about same? LilSki, Darren Blythe (who made Barbagallo) and rest of the VIR team worked for nearly 2 years on it. Their own words: "The track itself has been painstakingly modeled from scratch using several sources of technical data, countless photographs, hours of video footage and real world feedback from drivers and racers. It contains all seven layouts: Full, Grand East, Grand West, North, South, Patriot & Patriot Reverse. All are fully functioning with AI. Each layout has it's own look and feel in accordance with real life." It has even unlockable secrets. What mod track has unlockable secrets? Are you referring to the tarmac texture? How should track that was very recently resurfaced IRL look then?
"Coming up next on BBC Two, it's Gardening Time with Gamer Muscle, who looks at a formal rhododendron display opposite the apex to Redgate corner at Donington Park, and how discreet clipping can keep it growing all year round and take off a tenth off your hot lap."
Where can I download Birminghan (a classic fantasy circuit for rFactor/GTR2) for Assetto Corsa? A lot of videos of this track with AC but no sites for download on anywhere in Internet. :/
I marshalled at Donington Park many years ago, there I was in my Hi-Vis vest.....oh did I mention I directed motorbikes/cars into appropriate places (okay parking attendant but I was there officially as Marshall), yet due to being not needed after my initial duties I got to, because of my vest and id, to go infield and I walked into pits , into a garage while the action was going on, no one batted an eye lid, and I got payed for a great whole day of 1-2 hours work .
Thx for this info GMV... Went to download donnington... was warned of an insecure site! Is this just my firewall, security, ect, being over cautious? Do I need to worry about an insecure site? You have obviously used this site, did you get any warnings? I would be suprised if is dodgy, just used your links! Would appreciate some feedback GMV... Thx... Frank...
Not sure if it would be wrong or not considering it's also a DLC track but the Nordschleife mod track was excellent. Hope you keep doing these every now and then because there's always one or two gems people will miss. Now on to the car mods please :)
top 6 only? lilsky himself has like 4 already top tracks! and Lemax has a few, Miseluk is a must have though latest version only available via donating.
A very good list, may I suggest another? Modder named Antu Dusan made many of the best tracks n rfactor, and recently he did a new Usui Pass, a Japanese touge track, for Assetto Corsa. Has to be the lushest scenery I've ever seen in AC. www.racedepartment.com/downloads/usui-pass.15712/
Nice job , its quite expensive at 8-12p a teabag but worth it in my opinoin. sometimes if you look around you can get one of those huge builder bags but I have not seen one of them for years.
GamerMuscleVideos lol i no my misses wasn't happy msg me saying are you joking lol Moaning about spending my money 🤔haha, yh i always wanted to try them but didn't know wich ones because theres loads of flavours so niceone for that. 👍👍
GamerMuscleVideos yhyh 👍 i always like the local shoplifter very good prices just watch he ain't eyeing up the sim gear though lol Im joking. Yh sound I'll have a look
