"You can take that on the bus" sounds like the new, trendy way to subtly and sarcastically way to cast an immense amount of shade upon a person or thing.
I had the OG Gameboy version of the Handy-pak. It had an added lanyard and it had a funky battery adapter to run off the Gameboy's batteries instead of having its own... because the Gameboy had such great battery life to begin with. Problem was the tabs on the joystick would break off, rendering it pretty much useless.
I remember only buying one accessory for my DMG, and that was The Light Boy, which was just the lighted magnified screen add on. For my GBA, I only bought the Rechargeable Battey adapter. Just avoided many of them as at the time I saw them as a waste of money, and did not foresee them being collector items.
8:30 I own one of those game genies. Fun fact. If you mod it by cutting away a small portion of the back, you can use it on your gameboy SP or gameboy color. I used it to hack in Mew into pokemon :)
Well I got to admit Nintendo was honestly in it for the games and the gameboy will outlast all the computers that replaced it so in the end its gameboy that you will play and the only proof of humane will be gameboy.
Been following your work for a while and this is my favorite channel on retro handhelds so far. Keep up the good work man, absolutely love the content. Can't wait to see what's next! 🎮
Epic! So THIS is how you do your pimp my gameboy videos. I've convinced my inner demon to pillage the nearby Pacman cabinet and get me a Game Boy Horror just so that I can fill it with electricity.
I just watched yesterday your video from 3 years ago "pimp my original gameboy" I want the saitek booster boy so bad it looks amazing lol... but the hyper boy looks pretty sweet also
I like the accessories for the Nintendo Game Boy. Each one carries the quality seal that tells you, it’s part of the Nintendo® Game Boy® family. Those include Handy Boy™ by STD, Game Light™ by Nuby, Light Boy® and Light Boy™ V2 by Vic Tokai, The Illuminator™ by Greer, Game Boy® Bodyguard™ Sure • Grip Protective Cover by Meliconi, Super Game Boy® Game Boy™ Printer and Game Boy® Player by Nintendo.
If you don’t know what Game B is, it’s a harder mode. I don’t know how to access it, since I’ve never played Tetris on the Game Boy, but I think it should be accessible from the main menu.
Good show. make more pls 1. GB swaying machine 2. GB exercise bike 3. GB pocket sonar 4. GB medical narcosis dispenser 5. GB organiser with the keyboard work boy 6. GB solar charger 7. GB waterproof case
My dad had an old gameboy with lots of games and almost perfect condition boxes of the console and game, and one of the games was f1-race. The game was missing but it did still have the four player adapter, and it's cool to look at. Saldy none of my friends have gameboys so i can't use it, but it looks handy.
I had that "HandyPak" you showed here and I loved it! Mom got it for me along with the GameBoy Color (not Pocket) and it worked great for me. Sound was crisp, the magnifier and lights worked well for 9 years old me, I was very happy with it. Sadly it doesn't work anymore aside from the buttons and fake joystick - which was my favorite part about it.
I know that you need the new Retroad S Plus from Ali-Express with the gameboy color adapter. 7" HDMI Gameboy Color. No multiple players but a gem. I do think you may be able to do fighting games with the Super Gameboy multiplayer though. Super Gameboy fighting games were programmed for two SNES controllers.
Really ? when you start up tetris. and you'r choosing options. it'll have a option to play game A or game B. on the same screen where you can change the game music
Game Genie! Who can forget those? Been rocking those since NES! Booster Boy I think looks like 1 I wanted because it was like turning the GameBoy into a mini arcade cabinet kind of, like the little Donkey Kong game the Mogwai play around with in Gremlins. I had something called HandyBoy, which had flip out speakers, screen magnifier, and these weird butttons and thumb pad analog.
@@RetroDodo Have you seen the recent backlight mod for the DMG? Where the whole screen and control board gets replaced? It's amazing. Thinking of that one too. Heck, I have a list of stuff I want to buy but I sure can't do it all at once XD
That’s actually sooo fucking stupid, most of us kids didn’t had a gameboy and/or accessoires for it BUT we really wanted one as a kid because we didn’t know any better and it didn’t matter either,BUT these day’s and thanks the internet,we FINALLY could get all those gameboys and accessoireses for it,BUT the problem is that they feel freaking damn obsolete these day’s because of modern technology we now have,so what we gonna do with all those gameboy’s & accessoireses for it? We simply just kept them as collectors items rather then using them, wich does makes we sometimes wonder, does this makes any sense,no because we don’t use them anymore, thing is that it is 25 years too late to buy these things,if we all kids had those things back then we would,ve use them to it’s max☹️
I wish you could get Work Boy. Too bad it was never actually released. There was also -GB Kiss: infrared enabler for GB. Only worked with a few games I think, like Robopon. -GB mobile adapter: used to connect GB to a cell phone. Mostly used with Pokémon Crystal. Even in Japan not many kids had cell phones so it failed -PediaSedate: Distract kids with a Game Boy while they’re being given nitrous oxide before dental procedures
The 90s back then just made accessories for innocent hand helds that when u install It makes a literal weapon to smack ur fellow kids with and I wish I had the money to buy these bulky ass rocks for accessories 😂😂
So the battery pack wasn't charged and you didn't actually test the game genie out with Tetris before the video. This is supposed to be good content? Do some prep work man!
That last one. the handy pack 2. i had the orginal growing up for the original gameboy. it was called the Handy Boy. and it was the exact same thing you had there. just bigger for the old school gameboy. and i also had the game genie for mine too lol. ah memories. i sold off everything i had thou except for my original gameboy i keep. and i keep a copy of tetris. because i'd be unhuman not to haha.
I think creating ROMs are illegal if you rip off certain games. I think they made this official in Japan. This is just to make this aware to rom hackers
I think the BoosterBoy might be the 1 I always wanted, making it look like a mini arcade cabinet, or slightly possibly HyperBoy, except I don’t recall seeing that look all that much. I had a Handy Pack for OG GameBoy, but the buttons were unusable, uncomfortable buttons and tight analog just doesn’t move smoothly everywhere. Unfortunately, my GameBoy no longer works. Would love to seek a new 1 someday or Pocket for that matter, screen died on that 1, which a friend said he got working with a pin because somehow he broke the power switch.
I used to have a Booster Boy. It doubled as a 'cryocasket' while I was playing with action figures... I used to go through this elaborate scenario where the big-bad was being revealed and all the panels and doors on the booster were controls on the cryocasket... Ah imagination.
