I'm sure many will think competing with Red Dead Redemption 2 is pointless, but that game has so many, many, MANY easter eggs, the game is practically about them. Just within my first EVER playthrough I already found one UFO easter egg, two Ghost easter eggs, and two that are just random dead people in weird circumstances. Easter eggs in The Witcher a carefuly selected and clever, and easter eggs in Red Dead Redemption 2 are just so bizarre and there's so many of them, only few of them end up being surprising

@@ssj4galactus I didn't, now i get y'all might not like them, so i won't go there, but three of these were new to me, the sword, the GoT reference, hell i didn't even know GoT existed in or before 2015, and the Ghost ship. I have up to 200 hrs in the witcher not inclusive of the DLCs. Hoping to start my new game plus this christmas when i rebuy the game.

Ian Thomson lol I saw that early too. Half of my playthroughs ( each time I replay witcher 3) is me tracking down the witcher armour upgrades and then fast travelling back to skellige to get those stupid dimeridium ingots. This list is just poorly named...

The one that stands out to me is when you’re doing the ambush mission with the dwarves, there is a group of 3 hiding by the road arguing. In part of their dialogue if you listen, one calls another a Dinklage

An even funnier detail about salt lines : later Geralt finds a salt line in a house (can’t remember precisely when) and says that it’s an old and useless superstition... maybe he just wanted to calm the citizen and make them stay at home in order to be safe with the bloody baron

@@jessebawz6093 People find that out later. Idk whether Emhyr was actually on the ship or not but in the books it is originally believed/stated they were both on the ship and both of them died. It is only years later that people find out that Duny = Emhyr and is still alive

Gerald says for the townspeople to place salt, but in the quest where you kill the elemental under the "haunted house", Geralt sees salt on the floor at the top of the staircase. Geralt calls it a peasant's superstition.

I know its random as its like 2 years later, haha. But actually I kind of liked it. Ive read the books and played through the games. And when I played the game, the way I saw that line, it felt like geralt says that, as it would give the townspeople a sense of safety. Its kind of how geralt often doesnt give spesific details to common folk, as it would be easier for them to just be oblivious. Thats just how I saw it, but I kind of think that it would fit nicely into his character.

Leo's grave, Birna Bran, Ghost ship, Tyrion and especially Trials of Grasses cave are familiar. And there is so many details that are even better. I'm more a dog person, so I haven't made myself entourage of cats, but I knew that you could calm them. Is that salt line really that big of a deal? I don't think I ever really though about or care about during the quest.

following the advice about "lines of salt" in Velen, if you start a secondary quest in Novigrad about a recently bought house (which is haunted) by a rich man you meet in "Kingfisher". When you go to that haunted house you will see that people have placed lines of salt in that house near the basement entrance. To which Gerald says "useless superstition"🤣

Just starting my first ever play through, enjoying it so far aside from the pause button and inventory button being totally backward compared to most games 😂 also geralts casual walking animations feel very loose and “cheap”. Either way it’s an amazing game! And on game pass currently.

The biggest complaint i have is that it takes time to get used to the lower resolution. The resolution changes drastically when you talk to NPCs, then change back to 3rd person playing the game normally. I had to squint my eyes a number of times before i finally got used to that. The game also (for reasons i do not know why), crashed a number of times , specifically while going through Novigrad... This happened about 12 times or more. Luckily, saving in the game is very forgiving (and you can change auto-save in increments of minutes). Aside from that, the game is great. It runs really well, for the most part, controls are pretty good, and the dialogue is top notch (the dialogue is one of my favorite aspects of the game, i love that Geralt is an ass half the time he talks!) , Oh and the game comes with both expansions INCLUDED! Ive put about a solid 90 hours into the game, and i seriously cannot put it down at all

Leo couldn't go through the trials because one, he was an adult and two, according to the lore all the formulas and instructions have been forgotten. If you consider the games to be a follow up to the novels, then yeah, you can interpret it aS THE OLD WITCHERS WHO KNOW HOW TO PERFORM IT TEND TO NOT DO IT ANYMORE AND PRETEND that it was forgotten, but if you read the book, and back in the Witcher 1 times, that was the thing, you'll know that the trialls have been long forgotten and nobody knows how to perform them.

Lines of salt. In the quest Doors Slams Shut Geralt finds a line of salt in the house and notes that it’s just a silly superstition.

The lines of salt though is a superstition as Geralt says. There is a quest you do to rid a house of a supposed ghost , and you see some lines of salt and Geralt says it is a pointless superstition :D

He told them to put salt down in front of their doors then when you do one of the many haunted house quests, he remarks at a line of salt on the ground "line of salt on the ground must've thought it would keep out the spirits, old folks tale" or something along the lines of that 🤔 🤣

Wait...I just realized that Geralt tells the towns people to put lines of salt in front of the doors to keep the spirit of the dead baby at bay. But if you make it to that one “haunted” house east of novigrad and see the salt line someone put at the top of the stairs Geralt then says “Pointless superstition” So which is it? Effective or not? Or is the dead fetus baby thing actually a demon or some sorts that reacts negatively with salt? I could see how that’s a thing

Later in the game, there's a house... I think its the house that has an elemental in the cellar? Geralt states that salt does nothing to protect people from ghosts/ghouls and that it's a stupid tradition. So... I think we can all conclude that he only tells people to do this at crows perch in order to give the people peace of mind and so they'll also remain indoors. Either that or a script error, I'm hoping for the previous.

Yeah we all found these after 100s of hours playing this. I'm still convinced I missed stuff though. I liked how the sun was placed differently in all regions to signify the different locations. Anybody notice that? That was sarcasm by the way. I am impressed though. The Witcher 3 after all these years still able to function as clickbait and lure hundreds of thousands of people including me here. That game ain't dying for a long time.
