in my most humble opinion, I think this chick is spot on with her tips. if you are a new guinea pig owner many of her videos are extremely helpful in educating...terms, habits, diet...etc. she doesn't claim to be a vet, but is speaking from experience. ..and all her cavys are always looking happy, so I really trust her suggestions. personally speaking, I didn't plan my guinea pigs, my three all came from pet store. I went to a large chain pet store to pick up snacks for my pups and that's when I saw Bowie, my abby...love at first sight. it's taken time to acclimate myself and family to our new members. I never had guinea pigs, and they are nothing like other rodents in particular ways, so it's important to understand what you're getting into before you purchase/adopt. I don't make fancy videos like this chick, but I'm just chiming in as support. what no one will admit is that these animals are cheap here, so it's easy to just go out and buy or get one, and people overlook their needs and best interest. in my home, our pets are family....but we understand that we are different species and so everyone has someone..sorry for long rant. kudos to all the awesome pet owners who put their pets first!

I'm so upset because about a year ago, actually May 16th of 2015, I went to get my first Guinea pigs. When I wanted to get these two this staff member of the pet shop came up and talked to my dad, who has no knowledge of Guinea pigs, hates them, and doesn't want to be near them, he's just letting me take care of everything. So the staff member tells me, "you should really only get one of those girls". And I said "but Guinea pigs need partners to grow up. They're herd animals!" and she said "well when Guinea pigs get older, they fight. It would be a terrible idea to make two grow up together" and I'm thinking in my head 'has she no common sense?' So I said "I really think they'll be happier if they grow up together. And THEN my dad jumped in. He believed the worker instead of me, when I've been learning and studying Guinea pigs for about a year, before I was finally able to get some. So my dad said, "less Guinea pigs, less money, less poo, less food. How about we get one" and I really can't argue with my dad and I was just so upset so I went with it. Now it's been a year with my one Guinea pig and I still get that nagging feeling in my heart that she needs a partner, no matter how much attention I give her. (3 hours per week day, 5 hours on weekend days). I tried explaining it to my mom who is very close to her, but my mom says "she will just be more attached to her friend than you and she won't give you any attention" and I get so upset because no one understands and nobody listens to the 12 year old (yes I'm 12). I plan on somehow finding a way to get her a buddy this summer, but now she's a year old and what if my current Guinea pig fights with the new one? I can't afford to keep both in separate cages their whole life. :'(. What do I do little adventures? Sorry this was very long and if you DO read this, love your channel, I have stuck with you for years and depend on your videos to make my little Daisy happy. Thanks if you can help.

My best friend and I have gotten a Guinea pig named Snoopy in the end of January and every time I come over and say "Snoops!" Snoopy run over to the front of her cage! And we've had her for less than 2 months!

I got my first piggy today her name marshmallow and it’s a girl!!! She’s albino!!!

My poor piggy sprout was put to sleep on the 1st of dec 2017 because of fluid in his abdomen. He left behind his brother skunk. Skunk was very sad and depressed... so the next day i went to go get a treat for him at urban pets and i found a sweet torti. We took him home, and now we have skunk and his new buddy chewbacca (chewy)! They seem to get along for now... two boars. Chewy is only a couple months old and skunk is 3 years. Skunk is still sad about his bro. May sprout rest in peace. R.I.P Sprout the white-cream and black american(but still canadian) guinea pig. You are missed

I just got my first Guinea pig from pet co not to long ago and I got a Abyssinian one and she has been very shy and all ways rain away from me but then I found your RU-vid channel and your RU-vid videos has so much advise! This is the 5 day I have had her and I have been following all of your steps on all your videos and she is not so shy no more. like you said you want them to think of you as a vegetable person! Love your straight forward commentary...not skipping on vital requirements...too many pets kept in small surroundings without interaction, stimulation and freedom...why do people not understand these are living things just like us, needing specific care. These videos are incredible! I'm getting two new female guinea pigs next week and all of these videos help me so much!

I have 6 pigs but I think depending on the guinea pig you can only have one if the owner is able to be home 24//7. I know many happy, healthy solo guinea pigs who are very tame as their owner works from home or is a stay at home parent ❤️. But it always depends on the pig, if they dont go well with other pigs or something then you can have a solo one but it is always better to have 2+ pigs.

My guinea pig hates other pigs and lives alone I got her from a rescue in London and apparently she had a partner who died and she couldn't bond with anyone else. So I just hug her almost daily and she seems chill she is really chatty.

This was extremely helpful quite a few ways but in others not so much when your guinea pig hates being around other guinea pigs and only interacts well with humans; though with hiding places etc. helped me a lot; especially the checking weekly thing as I wasn't sure how many times I should check and things

We have a solo guinea pig, but we nurture him a lot and he seems happy and active, and loves floor time. He is on and off with touching though. Sometimes it works to go solo, depending on the pig’s personality

Im planing on rescuing two-three guinea pigs in a few months. Your videos have been so helpful! I was very overwhelmed at first but your videos gave me the correct information clearly and slowly. I have made a wood cage with some C & C walls. The cage is 8 foot long and 3 feet wide. I think that's an okay cage size for 2-3.

Great video. There are so many suitable vets now. When I had guinea pigs we just went to the dog and cat vet. That was when there was a big fight, Very serious invoving stitches! They weren't show stock, but travelled to the vet, all right. I will never forget, one of my pigs, was not in very good condition, and got a "suture abcess" she healed up. Finding a market for the babies could be a trick.

I got my guinea pig almost 2 days ago, he trusts me enough to eat in front of me! :) His name is calico. (Reason for me naming him that is because he looks like a calico cat!) My moms friend has helped me a lot with taking better care of him. :) But, you’ve also helped me quite a bit on learning more about them! Thank you, Little Adventures.

I got a guinea pig March 8, 2016. In 2018 I then realized my piggy was lonely so we bought another, we slowly introduced Each other . The other piggy is trying to become alpha and take over but my FIRST piggy knows better and if the other tries to be rude or anything, he knows what to do. So now they live in peace and are happy together and don’t actually fight.

Hi,I am going to get a guinea pig in around a month but i am Defo following this channel for everything like bath time

Fun tip. Put your hoodie on backwards, put a cut up piece of puppy pad inside the hood and take your piggys to the store with you ☺. I'm 6.4 and turn many heads with Pickles little head perching out of my hood saying "No not that one, that one! The fresher carrot, hooman!"

This helped so much! I was gathering info to get another gueina pig for my original Creek, since my grandmother kept saying no for an second piggie ! When I got Creek Pet smart said to only get one since they're not "social creatures" & my grandma said ONE. I FINNALY saved up some money and conviced her for another ^-^ I got to bring home Creek a friend! EDIT: Creek is so much active and trusting now!
