Plantar fasciitis treatments commonly given to patients by healthcare providers are often not effective and possibly even make the problem worse.
The medical field’s current knowledge on how to treat plantar fasciitis is surprisingly small. It’s mostly stretches, exercises, injections, medications, even surgery that provides short-term pain relief at best.
Meanwhile, the root problem gets worse as more time passes without addressing it.
In this video, Dr. David tells you the top 9 treatments that make heel pain from plantar fasciitis worse.
Some of the treatments include: marble pick up exercises, towel scrunch exercises, runner’s stretch, and certain insoles

Love this site, because my meniscus pain is almost never there, after doing the recommended exercises. Once in a great while, I get this tiny pinch, and it is usually when I am holding my foot on my opposite knee to cut a toenail, or put on foot cream. SO...returning to this site for Plantar's Fasciitis makes sense, and the movements are so right on, plus the part about what N O T to do. Incredible. I cringed at the info available, especially the picking up of the squashed towel. That hurts to think about, UNLWSS the faciitis is more flexible. Thank you, AGAIN. I feel like there is hope, because I was beginning to think .I had a spur, but my brain told me I was not giving my foot proper rest to heal. Plus, having the best form of movement in the PROPER muscles to speed healing. The residual pain that is present is in the morning, first pressure, and when .I raise the toe when the foot is relaxed. People need to do stretches all the time to avoid the trap of this condition returning. Perhaps a past video about that.

Thank you for your fantastic video's! Amongst other things I've had plantar fasciitis in both feet for decades. Not so long ago I was diagnosed with bone on bone arthritis in both great toes. At first it really hurt to do the toe curls, and light "toe grabbing" but eventually I got my feet really strong and both my problems named above have improved. I have been able to stave off double toe fusions with the aforementioned and MBT " Colorado X" shoes. My only problem Dr David is in one foot I am getting what I think could be tendonitis, or a pain going up into the back of my heel. Any suggestions? Also, at the end of the year I will get Medicare and off of Kaiser, and that will free me up to actually come to El Paso for an evaluation from you. It is unbelievable how much you have changed my life with all of your fantastic video's, and I am looking forward to enrolling in either you better back, or knee course once I get a chance.

Hi Doc. Thank you for your educational videos 👍. I confirm that with the Strassbourg Socks. On top of that, I suspect that in addition to the plantar fascia, other tendons on the foot and toes are overstretched and thus lead to additional problems. I have recently changed to rigid night rails that hold the feet at a 90 degree angle. What do you think of these night rails? Greetings from Germany, Thomas.

I started doing the “claw with your toes” movement as I walk that I saw you recommend. It’s making a positive difference. Thank you.

I have nerve damage on my sciatica nerve after a ruptured disc, so my 2.-4. toe on one foot doesn’t work properly. During my recovery i got planter fasciitis and I know that I don’t ‘roll’ on the foot the right way when walking. Is there anything I can do. The several foot care provider’s I’ve seen seem to not take the whole issue into consideration. (I’ve also have flat forefeet).

Hey SSV, That is a great question! It really depends on you and how you are feeling. You should be doing each of the exercises until the muscle is fatigued and in between. You aware of your form as it should not be compromised and you should not feel like you are in pain. If you are feeling any type of pain you are doing too much and you will need to scale back. Please let us know how you are doing as you progress! 🙌

I don't have plantar fasciitis but was given all those exercises, night splints and inserts. I have tight Achilles tendons and high arches. It was causing me to walk on my toes. I had NO pain. These things don't seem to be helping, the splints actually cause pain after a few hours. Do you have any videos on my condition? I would love to try new things. Thanks.

This is great information but not helpful. This is video number 1,213,479 on this topic and I'm still suffering. This started in April suddenly after a walk with new tennis shoes. Started PT and was compliant for 6 weeks. Podiatrist wanted to give me 3 shots 2 weeks apart. The first helped. The second was extremely painful. I didn't get the third. Have tried EVERYTHING with dedication. Still limping and now concerned about back and hip issues. I golf weekly in a cart with some discomfort but i pay for it later. Please help!

the back of my heel is often aggravated, is that due to plantar fasciitis?

Hi, I notice that you don't recommend the joggers stretch for plantar fasciitis, which made me wonder if I should still be doing the heal stretch over the stairs, as i notice you don't mention it in your other plantar fasciitis video.

Hey Robin! Great question! The stretch is not a bad stretch, especially if helps to make you feel better. However, our emphasis is that this stretch is not going to fix the problem. Activating the muscles in the feet is going to help reestablish the stability of the foot, which should absolutely improve the pain. Soreness should be expected in the foot, but this is distinguishable from the actual pain. Hope this helps!
