Some very good games again in this one. Some games I bought and never played cause so much difficult to put on the table ☹️. Definitely The Gallerist is one of my favorite Lacerda's...not so much complexity in this one and very thematic 😉 Thank you
I really like a lot of these games. You have me curious about others that are higher. Expansions on heavy games are really hard to get to the table. Why do I buy them?! Curious about doodle dash, my daughter would love that game I think.
I'm really enjoying your top 100 so far, looking forward to the rest of the list. I'm starting to get tired of the crowdfunding FOMO and think I have to catch up on the classics that I missed out on or campaigns that I passed up on that passed the release test of time. This may require some hard decisions to let go of games that just didn't cut it that I may not have even played yet to make room. Yes I backed a fair number of duds and your save or sell videos gave me some ideas too.
Glad to hear you are enjoying it :D I love playing new games, looking at upcoming games and so on, but I also love looking back. Looking at all the fantastic experiences we have had with these games, and also looking forward to playing them again in the future!
Johannes, your choices are so similar to my list -- love the Gallerist and the Crew. I have Hegemony but I've been too afraid to try to teach and play it
You broke my heart! I have the trickerion collectors edition and Hegemony + expansions. These are the best 2 games of my collection and the favorites in my game group (Yeah, we like heavy games :D )
We used to play the art auction game, "Masterpiece" when we were kids and I really liked it according to my nostalgia brain. But who knows? I wonder if you've heard of it? And I wonder how similar it is to Art Society - I guess not a lot, but I wonder.
Great job guys! You both seemed so upbeat in this one that your happiness and enthusiasm was radiating out of the screen. Thanks for making my day a little brighter!
Cool list, so happy you included our Art Society 🙌 The crew for me would land much higher We recently finished it in our group and it was a blast! (And no body heard it because it was under water 😅)
Great lists so far! Tiny Towns hits a bad spot for me. I think it's a really fun, easy-going game but it's a bit too much to bring out for family events (trying to manage and balance the 8 building types can be a bit overwhelming for some people I've noticed) and it doesn't hit the table with my gamer friends because I'd rather play something heavier with them that I don't get the chance to play as often. I think Akripolis replaces it for me.

We once played super fun 4 player game of tiny towns. I got pissed because one other player was calling stone all the time. So i changed to stone economy and continued calling stone every turn just to screw with everyone else. Other players joined and it was such a nice mess. Race to the bottom. In general, it feels like the coin mechanism from first expansion should have been in the base game. Makes the game much more cut-throat and strategic. I also think it helps new players. Just all-around good mechanic that rewards risk.
Just watched your top 10 of 2023 again and am quite surprised that white castle which was in the top 10 last year is now ranked so extremly low 😮 still on of our favorite games :)
It's not really low, but I understand what you mean! Everything in the top 100 is the best games we have ever played, chosen from about 2000 different games played :D
Oh my goodness, Dark Alley on Trickerion is a MUST, and then dhalgaards gifts take it to the next level. It’s so lovely and using dueling magicians makes the 2p game fantastic.
Interesting that you put the Galerist on your all time favourite list although you don ´t really get your head around it😂😂😂🎉 interesting picks, thank you🎉
Four games on your lists that would be in my top 100 (On Mars (my #1 game), The White Castle, The Crew and The Gallerist). Hegemony, Pipeline, La Granja and Nippon would all have likely made the list if I'd played them. My wife and I both bounced off Tiny Towns badly, so interesting to hear your take on it.
La Granja, Tekhenu, Clans of Caledonia, On Mars, The White Castle, and Trickerion are higher on my list. On Mars, Tekhenu, and Trickerion are much higher. My list: 90 - Roll for the Galaxy 89 - Rome & Roll 88 - Mosaic 87 - Circadians: First Light 86 - Apex Teropod Deck Building Game 85 - Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition 84 - Dice Settlers 83 - Clank in Space! 82 - Scholars of the South Tigris 81 - Marvel Champions
I'm completely shocked that 1 Trickerion is so low with you 2 you haven't played with the dark ally side. 50 Norwigen Khrones it goes a minimum of 50 plays up once you do
Count me among the many who have Hegemony ranked much (MUCH!) higher, but I get all the issues with it. My own list is a subjective attempt to be objective, so in each case I believe that player count & game length are no obstacle. But I realize you have to stick to the script.
You're not the first one on RU-vid to claim "The Gallerist" was a made up word. A gallerist is simply a person who owns / runs an art gallery. It's in the dictionary. Love your Top 100 though 😊
Hey :) We will not add the names, as we want people to watch the video! We have the timestamps to make it easier to jump around, and we also have the name and cover of the game shown on screen for as long as we’re talking about it to make it easier to skim through to find specific games! Not the answer you hoped for, but I hope you understand the reasoning! Thank you so much for watching 🤩
Nippon...oh boy you walked right into the What's Your Game fiasco of a KS campaign Madeira Collector's Edition+Exp. Yeah sure the designers will likely take the game to some other publisher (ok to be fair I really don't know who owns the rights to the game). Sorry to bring it up but for many of us backers of MCE+Exp we're pretty bitter about WYG and you'll see that anger reflected on ALL WYG BGG scores whether fair or not. IMHO BGG needs to offer 2 scores. One for the game itself and one for the publisher so that folks can vent their anger at the publisher separately from the game itself. The designers of MCE are the same as Nippon and they filed a lawsuit vs WYG to try to get paid for their work on MCE but the WYG failed to show up in court (see the BGG forum for the full story). Its a mess! (the Earlier edition of Zhanguo was also a WYG game so there is hope to see various former WYG published game designers head to other shores to keep the games in print).
I am so sad that this happened to the campaign! WYG was one of my favorite publishers, and we love so many of their games (and I am very happy that we have kept most of them). I have my fingers crossed that we might see new editions of both Nippon and Madeira in the future!
