Hey thanks for posting this video! I loved watching this for one real reason. Now I can show friends just hard it is to drive a funny car! BTW the camera did a great job! And good luck in the coming season.
Funny cars are really freaking neat, and it’s crazy to think that the body lifts up like that and there’s barely anything between the driver and the Motor...
People always complaining know nothing about fuel and clutch set ups track temps theirs a lot too putting that kind of horsepower on the ground so you had tire shake big deal go back print your readouts and try again it's all you can do .get at her and try again isn't that called drag racing a fuel car and every negative feedback I'm sure could do much better! Cause a real drag racer shows another racer respect not negativity bunch of know it alls hiding behind a computer.
Tire shake for the people who don't understand it, it's the clutch set up and fuel management when trying too apply 2500 too 3000 HP of a alcohol funny car too the track well if your off buy a few grams on the clutch set up it can cause tire shake or up in smoke depending on clutch adjustments it's a clutch plate with centrifugal weights the more weight the more power your putting too the track. When they launched the car they set it up too soft(not enough weight applied) so when the car launched there wasn't enough horsepower applied too the clutch which causes a wicked vibration but if you put too much weight you'll go up in smoke so it's not easy too put the right weight too the clutch .when it leaves the clutch has a series of weight fingers of different size weights when it launches the clutch slips a lot bleeding away a lot of horsepower you can tell by the clutch dust ,a little bit of clutch weight to leave the line , has the car accelerates more weight will be added fast at different stages of the run has the fuel car gets further down track then eventually the clutch will be fully engaged ( locked) but only once the car his moving and further down track it's not easy. It's hard too explain too some .Thats ok but I know others will be negative but I did my best too try too make people understand you just can't just go too the starting line light turns green and leaves like a super stock .In a fuel car the fuel and clutch are adjusted too slip bleeding a lot of horsepower launching that kind of horsepower ain't easy without tire shake or going up in smoke. Sorry it's a long story but I'm no editor and this his just my opinion that's it and for those who don't understand it, I tried like i said that's my opinion and buy no means am i an expert i follow nhra and listen too commentator Mike Dunn whom has helped me a lot in trying too learn cause there his no books that you can find on setting up a fuel funny car.
@FunnyCar744 I zip tied it to the top of the isp pads. It's a drift camera, it's shaped kinda like a rectangular box and it mounts right there pretty easy. what kind of camera do you have? I don't know how easy a go pro would mount right there, I've never seen on in person
