I have to say I completely forgot about having bought this game after I tried it in beta and got too annoyed by the unit AI back then. Your daily vids single handedly brought me back to start playing for what feels like a completely different game

Shermans are a funny tank in this game. They are dogwater vs the good medium tanks, almost useless vs king tigers (only middling chance to pen from sides), but dunk on soft stuff. I would say they are also for killing things like armored cars and lighter vehicles too though; they have enough front armor that pen from front from the 70mm stuff is reasonably rare (and very rare at range), while those vehicles don't have the armor to hold up to 90mm pen (guaranteed or near guaranteed pen even from front), so against light tanks shermans should brawl them, while they should hide from things like panthers. If you can keep eyes on choke from multiple angles, THEN regular sherman can pen a panther on side. Otherwise, you really need multiple fireflies or hellcats to take out panthers from the front using vehicles. IMO they are over-costed for their role; other light-to-medium vehicles do most of the same job, and have less deployment cost (I don't want to pay nearly double just to mostly-resist light vehicles). On the other hand, if game goes long, they have unusually high availability. You can make a lot of them even as people run low on total cards available, and their counts mean you might as well vet them. Another thing that makes them hard to handle for beginners is that they are fast for tanks, but this only matters if you micro to move them when appropriate. Keeping them in good position and reacting to move them has been hard for me to learn as a beginner, though now that I'm jumping between areas of the map routinely using control groups, I'm noticing situations that merit it in time more frequently. Recon picture + knowing where panther is going --> moving a pair of shermans around a flank out of its LoS means they can win this kind of scenario, but only if you know your shermans aren't walking into enemy AT guns or another panther etc. A lot more control intensive than just putting a panther near its max operational range and blasting at stuff.

I thought 2nd tank could be a friendly beginner but i expect the tank tab can be expensive since if you stall late game you can get great number of t34 but that only works if your enemy just sit herr

I feel the same way about 20th pz as you do about 26th.... Looks good on paper but I've never had luck with it. Harteneck has been my go to since the game was in Beta.

For a non-DLC owner, i found the 78. Sturm a great battlegroup to learn on. But i guess that the recon and tank tab ar lacking, and there is no at plane.

Thinking about getting this game due to the sales on steam would you suggest going the extra 4 dollars to get the total conflict edition or is their really no point? Also on second thought would you instead suggest warno? grateful for any advise!

I could see why you may disagree, but I would give an honorable mention to 25th Hungarian Infantry. You have infantry, recon, arty and AT very well covered, a decent mix of tanks and assault guns after they buffed them early on, by adding those extra german (and captured beute) tanks, AA can be interesting, but the 40 mm bofors is still great and you do get decent enough air to compensate. Support is barren, but you could consider the Zrinyi to be the 2 k HE from the support tab, like a StuH so it's all around pretty great.

Welcome to all the Christmas noobs starting on this game! Keep watching this channel to get good and play lot of single player first! Dont touch multy until you can easily beat hard AI. Otherwise you will get kicked in the ass so bad you will never touch this game again and merry christmas. I would definitely recommend 2nd pancelos as well maybe even more then 26 panzer et 715 inf
