Personally, I think DK's playful side kinda suits him. I think what Nintendo was going for here is to try show DK's more fun and less aggressive side here. It also shows off more of his carefree and laid back personality, which is mainly what he's usually portrayed as.
Dante: Well if i met DK then i'd hang out with him, personally i like this side of him more then the Super Smash Bros Brawl and Wii U side of him, he looks like he has fun in this game than any of the other games, and it also shows off that he can do more then just climb, swing around, and attack other brawlers
+Mario The Red Wildfire & Luigi the Green Thunder (Super Mario & Luigi) Oh yes, the deep, intricate, irreplacable character of Donkey Kong, defiled. BS. I don't dislike Green Scorpion or anything, far from it, but his complaints about DK are some of the stupidest things he ever said. Absolutely agree what you said about this, it fit the game much more.
In regards to Super Macho Man, all the negatives you point out are actually ON PURPOSE. He represents the negatives of Americans: full of themselves, rich, very arrogant, etc. I'm American and I agree, this guy creeps me out.
King Hippo is from Hippo Island, in the South Pacific. I'm assuming he's supposed to be a 'tribal chief' caricature. Plus, those noises he makes are apparently part of his native language. Studying his body language reveals that he mostly just complains about being hungry. On a side note, what happens when you punch off his manhole cover in Title Defence is pretty funny!

BirriaBoy64 This game in particular was made by Next Level Games. The Punch Out franchise in itself is not. Punch Out Arcade, Mike's Punch Out and Super Punch Out are japanese made...probably....

am i the only who thinks that Hondo should make it into smash as a fighter? this might be interesting for japanese audience cuz this game isnt very famous in japan (the game is made by Canadians btw), and since he is fast, he might be even having his own moveset instead of a clone of mac
Are you not going to mention that TD Bald Bull REQUIRES a star punch to Knock down. Even with the bull charge, it just gives a star punch, not knocks him down.
Little Mac is definetly the best! He is super awesome! It's a shame they never show him shirtless because we all know he'd have just as big muscles as the rest of them. He definitely has a rippling six pack under there!
Personally, I could see Bald Bull as being ranked much higher, but hey that's just me. I honestly enjoyed his Punch-Out!! Theme because I do enjoy Middle-Eastern or desert-like music, culture, etc. I'll say this though, he can (arguably) be considered the toughest fighter in the game next to that of Soda Popinski, Donkey Kong, and Mr. Sandman. I respect your opinion, however. Great list!

Oh no, you're gonna spoil the deep, intricate lore of Punch-Out, how dare you. 15: All I have to add here is that yes, you only have to knock King Hippo down once... but he does have a LOT of health. That is what makes up for only needing to knock him down once. That, and he hits like a truck compared to previous boxers. Well, that and you say he has no backstory... but then go on to explain that he's a self proclaimed king from a random island. That's... literally a backstory. Not a very intricate one, but it still tells you where he's from and what he is. 13: "He isn't much harder than Glass Joe." ...that's kind of the point. As you say, he is the second boxer you fight. If they pumped up the difficulty a lot for your second fighter, do you know how steep the learning curve would be? 8: No, Piston Hondo is not the fastest boxer in the game. It's not even arguable. Other than the Hondo Rush, he doesn't have any attacks that are that much faster than any of the other boxers in the Major Circuit. And Sandman in particular is WAY faster than Hondo... although considering he is the Champion of the World Circuit...

I'm genuinely offended Super Macho Man was 14th. He is the flashiest, funny, and most stereotypical of them all. He was so much fun to fight against and see all his silly dialogues. I genuinely love this character, and he's even my icon in smash bros.
To be exact, Bear Hugger was the first opponent in Super Punch Out on the Arcade and the second Minor Circuit opponent in Super Punch Out for the SNES. Aran Ryan was the first opponent in the World Circuit in Super Punch Out on the SNES.

Fun fact: In the game's earlier stages, Princess PEACH was supposed to be the bonus boss. They changed it to Donkey Kong later on due to the visual damage the boxers receive, which could cause unfortunate implications. ... Still would have preferred Peach.
Mr. Sandman is not an allusion to Mike Tyson or Mr. Dream.....He was in the very first Punch Out arcade game in 1984 (before the NES version of the game was created) and with the exception of the Super Punchout arcade game has been in every game since. He's called Mr. Sandman because he'll put you to sleep if you're not careful fighting him
