Thank You very much for doing this from a kit. 45 to 50 years ago I built, flew and destroyed many. Now that I’m getting back into it, this is the first instructional video using a kit. All of the others are scratch built and that’s absolutely fine and I have deep admiration and respect for that. To get back into building and finishing I need just exactly what you are doing. Again, Thanks. I did like and subscribed. I will be searching for any other videos of yours.
Just a side note, I’ve put the Nobler on the back burner for a bit till I get my P-40 Warhawk finished. I’m really an RC builder, but I’m building the Nobler to look like my dad’s back in the 60’s. I crashed it for him by throwing it down the driveway. I was like 7 years old at the time.
@@FranksModelAviationWorkshop It’s funny what really sticks in our minds from way back in the day. I have an R/C Nobler kit, along with a Corsair and a couple of P51’s all R/C and 3 or 4 C/L kits. I’ve found the P40
I have one in the box too. Plus several set of plans of others from over the years. I had to laugh when you said you crashed your Dads. In my case it was his Nobler Jr. The smell that come out of these older kits is heaven, just need to open a tube of Ambroid to get the full flashback.
Yeah. I still have that setting around waiting to finish it. Dad’s gone, so I’m not feeling it at the moment. One day I’ll finish it. I got a new vintage Fox .35 to put in it.
I built one of these kits when I was a teenager. It was a great kit to build. Unfortunately, I ended up giving the finished airplane away and never flew it after I started flight training in full scale airplanes.

Thanks Wally! I’ve had to take time away from the Nobler build due to other projects that need addressed around the house. However the Nobler is still in the exact state of build on the bench for when I get back at. Hopefully sooner than later. Lol.

Good to see you Frank. I haven't been in Stunt Hanger for a super long time over two years I know that. Hey, go down town and get some thin CA man. Way better than that thick you are using. Thick will work but thing is a much better bond the way it soaks into the balsa. I will be watching your Nobler build parts to the finish so good luck and good building. Wally
Unfortunately that build got stalled out temporarily. I’m an RC builder mainly. I started building the Nobler, cause my dad built one back in the late 60’s. One of these days I’ll get it done.
I built several of them in my life. If you kept it light and put in a contest grade control system and a good power system the plane could perform with the best of them.
Mine’s just gonna be built for display to honor my father who passed away in 2017. I’m painting it in the same color scheme as his, and hanging it on the wall in my living room.

@@FranksModelAviationWorkshop Thanks for the link. I've heard they make nice kits, but I'm gonna try my hand at laser cutting if I can find parts patterns. I've also thought about doing a 3D printed version and using a brushless setup.
I have two green box Nobler kits. The other kit is museum quality, so it’ll remain in the stash. The one I’m building in the series is still pretty good quality though. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for tuning in.
Be advised!! I see your comment, and the build is exactly where it was when episode 2 was finished. It’ll be finished someday. I’m a RC builder mainly. Control Line was dad’s thing. He built this Nobler, and I thought I’d give it a go.
