Beautiful plane ! And good fight but the save at the end was unbelievable I thought it was a goner for sure ! Great flying and love the vids please keep them coming. You have a lot of useful tips and the come in handy so thank you I really appreciate them .
WOW! What a great recovery! Beautiful plane. I like the Top Flite planes and very sad to see the end of the 60 size line. Glad I already have two P-51B Mustangs and a P-47 Razerback Top Flite kit. But I want to build a giant size Warbird next. Great video, with good building tips. You can really see your experience with the build tips. Please do more videos of this plane after you add retracts. And more flight videos.
Great job! Looking at the video I did think for a second that was it. I know the view form a camera changes a lot, but I was surprised the warbird made that turn back.
Daaamn, what a save! It sure looked like it was going in the trees, glad it didn't. That would have been a far more dramatic ending than your video of the P-47 losing a wheel on takeoff...
Hi there, did i got it right - this was the Hitec 7954sh Gas Servo ? Any problems with the Hitec 5496mh that you got in your giant P-47 ? Just asking cause i wonder what i'm gonna put in my first giant scale warbird. Thanks in advance. Ps: Awesome save !!!
Yes, it was the HiTec servo high voltage as I always use, just got a dud I guess. I have a ton of them in other planes with tons of time on them and no issues.
Where'd you get the Balsarite? Isn't it obsolete now - like a lot of the other balsa building stuff? Some say there are substitutes - but nothing works like Balsarite.
We say in the story that the throttle servo died a bit over idle but high enough I couldn't land it that fast but not high enough that it wanted to keep flying. Thankfully, I had put in an engine kill so when I got it back to the field I could shut the engine off and finish the landing deadstick.
