The first time I went to the Le Mans 24 the first 3 cars that came past me were this, the Morgan and the Corvette. Them 3 together sound absolutely beautiful!! And then a LMP2 went past and sounded like an angry wasp 😅
Surely one of the most gorgeous race cars ever...and what a sound! Loved listening to these beasts roaring through the Porsche Curves at Le Mans in 2005
E46325mod Lmp1 hybrids don't have sound but as Dr Ulbricht said "sound is wasted energy". I'd have a quiet car that blows my mind on its physics defying grip and speed than a loud car that is unreliable. GTE and GT3 still provides great sound, as does LMP2. So no, not every car sounds bad. And since when was Motorsport all about the sound anyway? Its about going fast, not going loud.
jonny j race circuits pay for racing events to come to there tracks and they make money from ticket sales etc. For etc who’s going to watch quite cars at the spar 24 hours when all your see is just the car and won’t here them
jonny j ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c6KM7Wo9-3I.html can you watch these cars but with no noise at Le Mans listen 1:10 judd power !!!!!
@@Minx5892 that s the biggest non sense ever. The sound was made because of the bigger engines and less restrictive technologies. Now adays there are way more forced induction engines wich are smaller and at the same level with the old bigger engines. Also most of the progress we ve seen in the past years is due to the advancements in the aero and suspension department. I hope that this clears everything up
Just imagine the amount of downforce this car has. I have never seen a single car on top gear power lap that is able to flat out on follow through and still manage to turn right into the center of the track instead of the edge..
This is one of those cars where the sound is so good that you can feel yourself tightening your core when it's at the right angle when it's flat out point in case 1:24
Aston know how to make engines sound unearthly...this, the 90s Vantage V600 and the honestly brutal sounding AMR1 Group C racer which genuinely cannot be beaten noise wise...
THESE CARS WERE COMMENTATED/TESTED BY THE OLD TOP GEAR BLOKES [Renault F1 car - 0:59] [Lotus T125 - 1:03.8] [Zonda R - 1:08.5] [Aston martin DBR9 GT1 - 1:08.6] [Caparo T1 - 1:10.6] [Ferrari FXX EVO - 1:10.7] [Lamborghini Sesto Elemento - 1:14.0] [Radical SR3 - 1:19.1]
That’s (and equivalent gt3’s)what I would choose as the reference car for lap times to compare in a street legal. Whatever car can approach that is seriously quick. Imagine that it takes something like a Pagani Zonda R to go near that time. Other quick and cheap cars that can do it are kit cars under 500kg/200hp+ (like Radical) but these are not street legal and the street legal version are heavier and although more powerful they are slower, except maybe the radical rxc.
Probably one of the best cars i ve ever seen in Top Gear since i ve been watching it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 (by the way,i ve been watching Top Gear since i was 12,so...)
its a sequenchal (maybe not spelt right) gearbox meaning you either pull it back to change up or push it forward to change gear, its faster then a normal pattern gearbox, now they normally use paddleshift now which works even faster
@xtoderzx The DBR9 is Aston Martins works car, so that has all the money spent developing it for the series it races in. Only Aston Martin own them cars (there's only a handful of DBR9s in the world). The DBRS9 is the 'tuned-down' version of the DBR9 which you CAN buy from Aston. They won't let you buy a full DBR9 incase you out race them one day... it'd be a bit embarrassing for them :)
This thing is just god in a vehicular disguise.... the noise, the looks!! You'd need something north of a Zonda R or and LMP-1 to out sprint this thing around a track
This car actually just 15 has ever produced, ferrari fxx just 30, mclaren mercedes slr 722 gt version just 22. I can't wait 3 of this genius work are racing together in the race track
yes but it is about 250kg lighter and hunkered down, not sure on the tyres, were those slicks? And if so, the result is not questioned since these cars also have the short shift range and limited to track speeds of 180-190 and not 230 mph...
Excuse me, sir. Aston Martin DB9 specification: acceleration (manual) 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds. The DB9 would've been far behind when the DBR9 enters the first corner. What's the point of racing spec cars anyway if the stock car would've been faster?
the zondar wasnt it the same time? i cant quite remembre but eaven though the zonda r isnt either race legal or road legal, correct me if wrong please!
