No one has ever presented special covers in a way that one could see exactly what they're like. You are the source. They really put a lot if extra work into many of those die-cut covers. I've had most of them at one time or another. The Wolverine 50 and FF 358 are amazing. The evil Ernie foldout was also quite impressive.

I got FF 358, A.C.687, Man of Steel 22 , Superman 78, 82 , Adv.of S.501, Sabretooth 1, FF 387, All the Valiants ( 8 ), XM Alpha, Prime and the 2 Lady Death. Great video!

Another great assortment of gimmick covers. It's making me realize just how well they worked on me. If I don't have them already, they are on my wishlist. Have to admit I never saw that Sabretooth special you showed. Is that a one shot? What is the story about? Shows jean grey and him fighting. Is it like xmen vol 2 #28? Might have to add that one to my list. Oh and more importantly who was the artists on it?

I'm glad you liked the assortment! Just wait 'till next Friday, the finale is a fun one (I hope)! Yes, that Sabretooth is a one shot. He fights the X-men and Caliban and others and in the end he gets shot and "killed". It's awesome! Gary Frank was the artist. Not very expensive, easy to find, and WORTH IT! They're SO much FUN!!! I think THAT'S what today's comics are missing more than anything. The senses of FUN! That comics are meant to bring out the youthful, fun-loving side in all of us. The 90's understood that and I love them for it! Thanks for the great comment!!!

6:18 Shadowhawk going for all the gimmicks: Matt black, embossed, die cut, foil. They should have had the title in glow in the dark.

I agree 100%!!! I feature a Shadowhawk that DOES glow in my next part, but you're right, this one should be recognized as having the most gimmicks on one cover. I should have mentioned that! Thanks for the brilliant comment!!!

I’ve collected sports cards for about 45 years ..the chrome cards hit in about 96 but they refractors in the chrome cards that were like 1/100 packs they still to this day demand high prices ..I’m surprised the comics didn’t do that also..

Yeah, too bad. The difference is that ALL the issues of that comic were chrome or gimmicked, so they weren't special and everyone was buying them. They were NOT rare. Still easy to find. What's fun is that some were actually good reads with amazing stories and art inside!!! Too fun! Thanks for the great comment!!!

I gotta admit... the story was a bit of a letdown. They advertised it as finally revealing Wolverine's origin. I felt it raised more question than answered. GREAT Silvestri art though!!!
