I have a weird feeling that in the "you told me not to think" scene, Tom Cruise forgot his line. Like he was supposed to say something, but it was so much better that they kept it.

Just like in the first Top Gun when he kisses Charlie. Tom was supposed to say something when Kelly’s character told Maverick she was falling for him. Instead, he just stared at her and then kissed her. The director liked it so much that he kept the scene in.

One of the joys of seeing epic and even crappy movies in a theater…..the shared experience…..that just enhances your pleasure and memory of it! The shutdown during Covid taught me how much I was value the shared experience…..only once and awhile I am an introvert…..outgoing….but an introvert!

Hangman was that one hot, arrogant, talented jerk with a sense of humor, everybody loves at the end. 😂 and it was obvious from the start. Also, I laughed way harder when Hangman played 'Slow Ride' at the bar when arguing with Rooster and telling Rooster he sucks because he is too slow. 🤣that was hilarious!

Best part of the movie: When Rooster tells Mav "You told me not to think". Quick pan to Mav coming to the realization he is right, but on the side of the screen you can see Rooster bobbing his head as if to say "exactly!".

I still think that the one officer that didn’t like Maverick should have been holding a cup of hot coffee when Maverick did the flyby at the end of the movie…you know…tie Top Gun 1 and 2 together! Anyone else agree?! I would have loved to see the officer spill the hot coffee on himself as payback for being such an ass!

Whats really interesting about this movie is how much respect it showed the original. Many of the moves Mav does in the dog fight in the f-14 were moves he talked about using with Charlie, the love interest from the first film, that were only theory at the time.

While the "Where am I? Earth." scene WAS funny, I was WAY to pissed off at Maverick to appreciate it the first, like, 8 times I saw this movie. The mfer SHATTERED MY PLANE!! Had I been the mechanic on that program, this woulda been a short-ass movie, cuz he'd have gotten back to the base and I'da beat his ass into the tarmac, all while screeching "YOU! BROKE! MY! BABY! It could also be that he isn't an Ace, so he hasn't "earned" the A's yet. At least, that's what I thought when I first watched. But pilots get to design their own helmets, so it' could just be a design choice.

Errm you forgot the good joke in the ending that that most people miss..... Hangman's got 2 kills. Mav's got 3 kills, so plus his three earlier makes 6=ace! Buuuuttt more importantly, since Rooster was Mav's RIO for all those kills.......he's got 3 kills now, aka one more than Hangman!:D :D

They got 2 kills in the F-14; Hangman killed the third. So Mav has 5, Hangman has 2, and Rooster has 2 as RIO.
