After the New Hampshire primary delivered a series protest vote to President Bush's Republican rival Pat Buchanan, Mr. Bush finally begins referring to his primary opponent by name, something he avoided doing for weeks. Bush is in Knoxville, Tennessee campaigning. Bush is saying he won New Hampshire by a landslide but had been too passive in New Hampshire, but he is now going to fight. Bush got 53% of the vote, but Buchanan called the vote a wake up call to the White House.
Former Massachusetts Senator Paul Tsongas won the Democratic Primary in New Hampshire and is now campaigning in Baltimore, Maryland to prove he can win outside of New England.
Bill Clinton went south to Georgia to aggressively campaign within his southern base, in an area he needs to win. Clinton's friend and supporter Georgia Governor Zel Miller introduces Bill Clinton at the rally. Clinton insists he can beat Bush in November and Tsongas cannot.
