This is uganda. I want to see when Ugandans join hands for the common good. I wish even Mpugga could sign the petition since he refused to resign when his NUP bosses told him to resign when it had not gotten to this point. I do believe that NRM and NUP's hands are now clean. People of Masaka if Mpugga gets kicked out of the position, it will be a disgrace to Mpugga and the people of Masaka. If it can sacrifice those 3 NRM commissioners to clean its image, NRM has nothing to lose. I don't know where this leaves Mpugga when NRM kicks out its own. Mpugga, you will be a disgrace with your owekitibwa title. It's going to taint Mpugga’s name to serve as an example. It's a curse on Mpugga for being remembered as a man who sleeps with people’s wives and a corrupt owekitibwa.
Mpuuga is done politically. First of all, he failed to redeem himself by accepting fault and by refusing to stand down as a commissioner when his party that sent him there told him to. Then, to make matters worse, he started attacking his own party! Now, if he is kicked out, he has no leg to stand on. He has lost all credibility.
Well, I go further than that by saying that you are backing the wrong horse. The race has already been lost by your NRM party. Why many of you in parliament who are honest and forthright are still under the NRM party banner does not make sense to me. Backing a "motion" regardless of what it is intended to accomplish is woefully inadequate. Therefore, you need to go all the way by telling your leadership in the NRM party that indeed Uganda is "tired" of you. I don't see any other way, for you to change what has gone wrong for nearly 40 years in power, but to relinquish it as a party before you are driven out. By doing so, you the caring few who are left in the NRM party would be telling the rest of the country that your party has failed to deliver and that the only rightful thing to do is to get out of government since you may not be welcome in any other party you may wish to join. MP’s are elected to serve their constituents not to enrich themselves. Argue your MP to sign the motion otherwise you can be judged as FOR or AGAINST corruption. Period.
