I know there are many IT Certifications out there and many people may advise you to get your CompTIA Certifications, or may be other vendor IT Certifications such as the CEH, Security+, etc.
But you need to start with the Cisco CCNA Certification, and that's because you need to start your IT Career with a job that can give you the opportunity for you to learn and have the hands on experience in networking, for you to know about a Network Infrastructure and then you can go on and become a Cyber Security Engineer.

Fantastic video! I may not agree with all the points on your videos but the CCNA is a great certificate for anyone interested in IT let alone networking or cyber security. I tell all my friends and family that are interested in cyber security the first thing is to have strong networking fundamentals before thinking about going into cyber security. Keep up the good work man!

I disagree I think the Linux or MS certifications would be better for a first job in IT. Practical DNS, DHCP and Authentication however studying for the CCNA OSI model is definitely helpful.

So let me get this straight: out of all the cybersecurity certs, and your first pick is the CCNA, an Cisco cert that covers a little bit of security, over any cert. And yes, I am aware that there s a CCNA security speciality. But to my point, that cert is good for network part of cybersecurity but not most of it. So, how about you question the "managers" and rethink that because I'm willing to bet that if Unix guy saw this, he would laugh his pants off at that suggestion. And while we on that topic, maybe do some fact checks

Yes you are 💯 right. But you get it if it’s required for you to have it, not before. And you do not start with Security+.

A security+ without a background is a paperweight, even for DoD Its basically a vocab test, even ones with labs now, it literally assumes you understand networking, virtualization, linux, etc How can you understand security network fundamentals if you don't even know how the server, computers, switches, firewalls, and router communicate together?

this so true. I got my ccna cert and was preparing for cisco ccnp security on the meantime I was working in a help desk position doing some networking stuff and while I was preparing for my ccnp security, I started applying for cybersecurity jobs and I had a few interviews and all of them were mostly related to ccna topics and some knowledge on security and some network experience. I landed a very nice job as a cyber security analysts, now my company is asking me to get some of the certs that Jorge is mentioning. Jorge is saying the true

What’s makes you think you can nail the job interview? Just because you have some sales background? Did you know that IT Engineers and managers can see through the bs from someone with a sales background? And how serious are you to start?
